• THE HARD TRUTH ABOUT ETERNITY
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” —Matthew 28:19–20
A Christian father who was terminally ill called his three sons to his bedside. To his two sons who were believers, he said, “Goodbye, my sons. I will see you in the morning.”
Turning to his third son, he simply and sadly said, “Goodbye, my son.”
The young man was deeply disturbed. He said, “Father, why is it you said to my brothers, ‘I will see you in the morning,’ and you only said to me, ‘Goodbye, my son’? Why didn’t you say you would see me in the morning, too?”
His father replied, “Son, you have never asked Jesus Christ into your heart to be your Savior and Lord. And that is what breaks my heart the most. I will never see you again.”
That son began to ask his father how he could be saved, how he could see his father again. His father told him how.
The son prayed and received Christ into his life. Then his father said, “Now our family will be together in eternity.”
That can happen for everyone who has put their faith in Christ.
It will be a great reunion one day in the future. But what does the unbeliever have to look forward to? Judgment after death and a miserable, empty life on earth.
There might be some fun in sin—for a while. But payday comes.
The hard truth about eternal life is found in the apostle Paul’s words in Romans 6:23: “For the wages of sin is death” (NLT).
That’s why believers are called to share the gospel far and wide, as the Christian father in the story did with his son.
In what’s known as the Great Commission, Jesus gave His followers these instructions: “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:19–20 NLT).
Eternal life is the hope believers cling to when the things of this life start to overwhelm us.
There’s a reason that John 3:16 is perhaps the best-known passage in all of Scripture. Jesus’ words to Nicodemus still resonate powerfully today: “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (NLT).
If you do not commit your life to Christ, ultimately you will look back on your life and realize that you wasted it. But don’t wait until the end of your life to figure that out. Figure it out now.
    God bless you

  • *SEED FOR LIFE*
Avoid shameful and foolish talk and low jesting. They are all alike discreditable and in place of these give thanks.
    • Ephesians 5:4

The giddy laugh, the jesting, the joking, sickens the soul that is feeding on Christ... Let no low witticism escape your lips. All frivolous words, all lightness and trifling, are enticements of the enemy to deprive you of spiritual strength... Lightness, jesting, and joking will result in the barrenness of the soul and the loss of the favour of God... Trim your lamps, and keep them burning, that wherever you may go, you may reveal in speech and action precious rays of light.
    • Radiant Religion, p.237

    *• A Point To Ponder •*
God does not forbid happiness, wholesome laughter, or genuine enjoyment. Rather, Scripture calls us to examine the quality and influence of what we allow into our minds and conversations.

  • DAY 25 - Morning
Theme: BUILDING A SAFE HOME: Creating a Marriage Where Love, Respect and Peace Can Grow

    Reflection
Honour Family Without Losing Your Marriage

    Good morning,
    Family is a blessing.
    Parents matter.
    In-laws matter.
    Extended family matters.
But marriage also creates a new primary family unit.
Sometimes the challenge is not that in-laws are bad people. The challenge is boundaries.
A mother may mean well but become too involved.
A father may offer advice that creates tension.
A sibling may expect more than the couple can reasonably give.
    The answer is not disrespect.
It is healthy boundaries expressed with honour.
Jesus taught us to honour our parents, but marriage also carries the principle of leaving and cleaving.

    God's Word
"That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife." — Genesis 2:24

    Today's Love Action
Discuss with your spouse one family boundary that would protect your marriage while still showing honour to your families.

    Let's Talk
How can couples honour extended family without allowing outside pressure to divide them?

    Prayer
Lord, give us wisdom to honour our families while protecting the unity of our marriage. Help us establish boundaries without bitterness or disrespect. Amen.

    From My Counselor's Chair
A boundary is not a wall against family. It is a clear line that helps relationships remain healthy.

    Marriage Nugget
"Honour your family, but don't sacrifice your marriage on the altar of people-pleasing."

    Remember
In marriage, it is not about winning the argument; it is about winning each other's hearts.

  • OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

    DATE: TUESDAY 25TH AUGUST 2026

    TOPIC: FEAR GOD, PART 1

    MEMORIZE:
"But the Lord your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies." 2 Kings 17:39 (KJV)

    BIBLE READING: PSALM 112:1-9
1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.

2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.

5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.

6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.

8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.

    MESSAGE:
The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom (Psalm 111:10); therefore, anyone who does not fear God is not wise. He is a Consuming Fire (Hebrews 12:29), and those who do not fear Him are truly foolish because even a mad dog fears fire. Psalm 111:10 also means that those who fear God become wise.

Apart from wisdom, however, there are many other benefits to fearing God, and today's Bible reading outlines many of them. One of the benefits is that the seed of a person who fears God will be mighty upon the earth (Psalm 112:2). That same verse also tells us that the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Psalm 112:3 says that you will have access to wealth and riches when you fear God. Also, Psalm 112:7 says that you will not be afraid of evil tidings. People who fear God do not need to be afraid of anything because He will deliver them out of the hands of all their enemies and everything that can harm them.

Those who do not fear God will find it easy to commit sins, and this can bring a curse upon them and their descendants. For example, Gehazi's lack of fear for the Lord caused him and his descendants to become carriers of the leprosy that was previously upon Naaman (2 Kings 5:20-27). Whenever a person acts in a way that shows that he or she does not fear God, such a person robs his or her children of the opportunity to be great and exposes them to curses rather than blessings.

Joab was another person whose lack of fear for the Lord brought curses upon his lineage. In (2 Samuel 3:27-29), the Bible details how he tricked Abner and murdered him in cold blood. When David heard about it, he placed a curse on Joab's lineage that sicknesses, leprosy, poverty, weakness, and untimely death would befall Joab's family and his descendants. People who do not fear God purchase trouble for their children.

Beloved, if you want your future and that of your children to be glorious, you need to have the fear of God in you. If you're going to have peace of mind in your old age, you must fear God. The reason I am sure that my tomorrow and those of my children will be alright is that I fear the Lord. I pray that your life and those of your descendants will be filled with blessings and not curses, in Jesus' name.

    KEY POINT:
The fear of the Lord guarantees God's blessings for you and your lineage.

    BIBLE READING IN ONE YEAR:
    EZEKIEL 5 - 8

    HYMNAL 7 - I AM THINE O LORD
1 I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
    and it told Thy love to me;
but I long to rise in the arms of faith,
and be closer drawn to Thee.

    REFRAIN:
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    to the cross where Thou hast died;
draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
    to Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
    by the pow'r of grace divine;
let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
and my will be lost in Thine.

    [Refrain]

3 O, the pure delight of a single hour
that before Thy throne I spend,
when I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!

    [Refrain]

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
    till I cross the narrow sea;
there are heights of joy that I may not reach
till I rest in peace with Thee.

    [Refrain]

  • GOD'S PROMISES CALL US TO HOLINESS

    2 Corinthians 7:1

"Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God."

Paul has just reminded believers of God's promises: He dwells in the midst of His people and desires to be their Father (2 Corinthians 6:16-18). These promises are therefore not a license to live as before, but a call to a consecrated life.

God's promises are not only meant to comfort us, they are also meant to transform us. Those who hope to experience God's reality must accept being purified by Him.

Grace draws us closer to God, and holiness teaches us to remain close to Him. We cannot claim the Father's promises while rejecting the Father's character.

Identify today what is defiling your life, your heart, or your thoughts, and then resolutely renounce it. Don't just wait for God's blessings; let His Word also mold you to His will.

Lord, since You have made me precious promises, cleanse me from all defilement. Help me to grow in holiness each day and to live in Your fear.

  • WHY SHOULD YOU HONOUR MEN? — AND WHAT IF YOUR MIRACLE IS CONNECTED TO IT?
‎Sometimes the person carrying the answer to your next season doesn't look like a miracle.
‎In Part 1 of The Wisdom Table, Vessel of Grace takes us into one of the most overlooked biblical principles: HONOUR.
    ‎We explore a provocative question:
