• Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    SATURDAY 22ND AUGUST, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    YOUTHS: VESSELS OF GOD’S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    REQUIRES OBEDIENCE.

    *TEXT:*
    GENESIS 22:2, 16-18.
    2 God said, “Please take your son, your unique son whom you love—Isaac—and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him as a burnt offering there on one of the mountains that I will point out to you.” Heb 11:17.
    16 and said, “I have taken an oath to swear by Myself,” declares the LORD, “that since you have carried this out and have not withheld your only unique son,
    Luk 1:73 Heb 6:13 [Eze 16:8] [Heb 6:14]
    17 I will certainly bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in heaven and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the gates of their enemies. Gen 24:60 [Gen 46:3] [Neh 9:23] [Heb 11:12]
    18 Furthermore, through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed my command.”
    Gen 12:3 Gen 18:18 Gen 26:4 Act 3:25 Gal 3:8 [Gen 28:14] [Jer 4:2] [Luk 1:55] [Luk 24:27] [Joh 1:45] [Joh 4:22] [Joh 5:46] [Act 10:43] [Act 13:32] [Act 26:6] [Act 28:23] [Rom 1:2].

    *TOPIC:*
    REQUIRES OBEDIENCE.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
    In Christianity, being obedient means listening attentively to divine instruction and responding positively out of reverence for our Creator. When anything else occupies your heart, obeying God becomes difficult. Faithful obedience, as seen in Abraham's prompt response to God's command, requires trust and surrender, not rationalisation. Abraham obeyed God and was willing to sacrifice his only Son, the promised child. Like Jesus, our ultimate example, we must obey even when it is complex and costly. You must give up something of worth. Are you obeying God's instructions, or hesitating? Can you let go of a relationship that you hold so dearly to safeguard your faith? If you struggle, ask God for a heart that responds promptly and faithfully.

    *REFLECTION:*
    Obedience comes with blessings.

    *PRAYER:*
    Father, give me the grace to obey You promptly. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    2 TIMOTHY 2:21.
    "If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be instruments for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work."

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*
    EZEKIEL 24-28.

    ED.ii. WHEN WE COME TOGETHER

    "What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up." - 1 Corinthians 14:26

    When we come together, we call it a church meeting or service. In a meeting there should be room for the ministry of God's servant, so the church is educated and grows. But it is also important that the entire congregation participates. If you are a member of a church, then you are not a visitor nor a guest, but a member of the Body of Christ. The intention is that every member participates in the meeting. As the congregation consists of several people, it could become hyperactive. When everyone participates at the same time, it then becomes chaotic.

    Order in church

    Paul gives us insights about these things in his letters to the Corinthian church. Corinth was a young church with many activities. That is why they needed help with the order during the church service. They had to learn how such a meeting should be because they had recently been born again. There were gifts of the Holy Spirit in the church, but they did not know which gift to give priority to.

    They also did not have much experience in dealing with new church members. They did not know how to resolve certain disagreements, etc. Paul wanted to help them. We have gained knowledge about these matters because Paul wrote and explained how everything should work. Paul says that 'the church may be built up' (1 Corinthians 14:26) and in 1 Corinthians 14:40 he says: 'but everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way.'

    Nobody is to have a hidden agenda. Let us live like the first church did. 'They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer' (Acts 2:42).

    2. Evening Prayer for today.

    EP.i. Evening Prayer

    And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; ⏤ Colossians 3:23

    God does nothing except in response to believing prayer. ⏤ John Wesley

    O God, by the teaching and example of Your dear Son, You have warned us to work Your works while it is day, before the night comes. Give us the spirit of earnestness and diligence so that we may faithfully do the work You’ve given us. Save us from laziness and sloth. Help us to understand the true meaning of life. Enable us by Your grace to do everything with all our might, whatever tasks come our way.

    We ask Your forgiveness tonight for where we’ve failed to fulfill our duties. Give us grace and wisdom to use every talent You’ve entrusted to us, so that it may bring blessings and good into the world, and honor and glory to Your name. May we be faithful in every relationship in life. In our home, help us to fulfill our duties so that no part of our home life suffers. Help us to be faithful in all our business, social, church, state, and worldly responsibilities.

    We also ask that You teach us how to make all our work Christian work—business for Jesus. Teach us how to do everything for Your glory. Let not our worldly activities steal our hearts away from our heavenly Master. Don’t let us become worldly while we are busy with the things we must do to provide for our bodies. Make all our work a means of grace to us. May we learn to do everything for Jesus. Then we will find a blessing in every task and duty. Grant that in all things we may honor and glorify You, forgetting ourselves. We ask this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    SATURDAY AUGUST 22, 2O26.
    " THREE LEVELS OF ATTACK (2)"

    Then the devil…set Him on the pinnacle...’ Matthew 4:5 NKJV

    THE ATTACK on the pinnacle. Let’s look at the second temptation Jesus faced: ‘Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, [and] set Him on the pinnacle of the temple.’ Here you deal with the fear of failure. Satan will whisper, ‘You’re on the pinnacle of success now, but you could easily fall off.’ He will bring up your past failures. He will remind you of leaders who crashed and burned. He will say, ‘If people realised how little you really know, or the issues you’re struggling with, they wouldn’t respect you.’ There are two kinds of fear: healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Healthy fear will keep you dependent on God; it will protect you from pride and self-sufficiency. ‘Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall’ (1 Corinthians 10:12 NKJV). But there’s an unhealthy fear that will keep you in the boat when Jesus is calling to you to step out and walk with Him on the water. You say, ‘But Peter almost drowned.’ Yes, but he was the only one of the disciples who experienced the joy of walking on the water! Having faith doesn’t mean you won’t experience a sinking feeling at times. You have a choice. You can give in to fear, or trust the God who has called you, sustained you, and never failed to give you the strength needed to cope with whatever you face. If your own intellect or talents are the basis of your confidence, you have good reason to fear. But if God is the basis of your confidence, you have nothing to fear.

    SATURDAY, 22ND AUGUST, 2026.

    *WANT TO BE A RESERVOIR OF DIVINE BLESSINGS?*

    *TEXT:* PSALM 1:1-6.

    1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
    2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
    3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
    4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
    5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
    6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God"_ (Deuteronomy 28:2).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Every believer desires the blessings of God, but Scripture makes it clear that divine blessings are connected with the way we live, the company we keep and the delight we have in God’s Word. The text presents a sharp contrast between the righteous and the wicked. The righteous person is not merely blessed, occasionally; he becomes like a fruitful tree, continually supplied by divine grace. Furthermore, for the Old Testament saints, the blessings of God and the God’s Covenants with the Patriachs were majorly earthly and material. However, for the New Testament saints, the blessings are majorly spiritual and heavenly, though, with earthly blessings and wealth embedded. The uniform testimony of the Scriptures is that in order to be blessed by God and even be a reservoir of divine blessings, we must deliberately, separate ourselves from ungodly influences, delight in God’s Word and remain spiritually rooted in Him.

    *1. The Conditions for Divine Blessings*

    a. Every creature of God enjoys the blessings of God in some shape and form. For example, the air we breathe is universal and the sunshine and the rain we enjoy are without discrimination though God has the power to do so if He wants. However, there are some blessings of God that are given to select few, in particular His children. They are multidimensional blessings including both physical, material, social and spiritual blessings, spanning through all human needs without exception. Receiving these blessings result into all round prosperity which is promised by God. *"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth"* (3 John 2). Apostle Peter summed up all these blessings as things that pertain to life and godliness. *"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises"* (1 Peter 1:3, 4a). These divinely provided blessings are even richer and deeper than what the Psalmist in the text was aware of.
    b. The psalmist begins by identifying what the blessed person does not do and what he does. He *"walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful"*. This describes progressive involvement with ungodliness. The blessed person carefully chooses his companions, conversations, character, contacts, connections and control. He is so much in love with the Word of God that he cannot stomach or endure anyone or anywhere the Word of God is being dishonoured. In an age where the demarcation between saints and sinners are being erased, he does not *"stand in the way of sinners"*. He separates himself from the worldly and sinful practices of sinners without being ashamed of standing for the truth and the right. His counsellors and guides in matters of conduct are not the ungodly, but godly people who take the Word of God and go to heaven very seriously.
    Positively, his delight is in the law of the LORD, and he meditates on it day and night.

    *Question*

    Based on the above, are you qualified for daily divine blessings?

    *2. The Clear Description of the Blessed*

    a. The description of a blessed man shows that it is pleasant and admirable to be a blessed man. Like a good tree bearing good fruits that are edible and profitable to man, the blessed man is not only blessed by God, he is also a blessing to others. As a good tree gives shade to people when the sun bites hard, the blessed person gives succour and shade to people when they are being bitten by the challenges of life. No wonder, the blessed person is compared to *“a tree planted by the rivers of water”*. The blessings of God are so real that he is never dried up. He remains fresh materially, spiritually and in all areas. Beyond that, he is *"planted by the rivers of water"* where the Word of God flows in his unceasing freshness.
    b. Such a person never runs out of grace, godliness and goodness. He *“bringeth forth his fruit in his season.”* His life produces visible evidence of God’s work. His leaves do not wither, indicating spiritual vitality even in difficult seasons. Furthermore, *“whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”* He is never a failure in family, business and spiritual ministry because he allows God to always guide his actions, endeavours and always commit them into God’s hands. It does not mean freedom from trials, but it means that a life rooted in God ultimately bears the fruit and accomplishes the purposes God intends.
    A reservoir does not merely receive water; it stores it for continue usefulness. Likewise, the blessed believer receives divine grace and becomes a channel through which God’s goodness reaches others.

    *Question*

    Is my spiritual life deeply rooted enough in God’s Word to remain fruitful in every season? Am I a blessing to others?

    *3. Cursed Destination of the Barbaric*

    The wicked are described as *“chaff which the wind driveth away.”* Agricultural chaff consists of the dry, scaly husks and small pieces of straw separated from cereal grains during threshing. It is lightweight, dry, scaly and easily blown away by the wind. It has no economic value. It lacks appreciable weight. It is just good for fire else it will be a nuisance. The ungodly are compared to chaff because they don't add any value to achieving the purpose of God on earth. They are only good for hell fire. Their life is not weighty in character and conduct, but lives on and lives for vanities of life. Those who reject God and persist in ungodliness may appear successful for a season, but their destination is destruction.
    b. *"The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous"*. Their apparent strength and conscience cannot withstand divine examination. In fact, the judgment would be so fierce that *"the earth and the heaven fled away"* from the presence of God (Revelation 20:11). *“The LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”*

    *Question*

    Am I a chaff before God or wheat? Am I walking on the way of the righteous, or am I allowing the world to shape the direction of my life?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, deliver me from every ungodly association and influence that can hinder Your blessings in my life .
    2.Father, give me an increasing delight in Your Word and grace to meditate on it continually .
    3.Lord, make my life fruitful and a blessing to others in every season
    4.Father, preserve Your children from the way of the wicked and make our lives a reservoir and channel of divine blessings to others .

    *PATH TO BLESSING* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽🏽

    ```TEXT:PSALM 1:1-6```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful" (PSALM 1:1).*_

    *In 1955, a young man named Jim Elliott left behind the comforts of America to bring the gospel to the unreached Huaorani people of Ecuador. Many thought he was foolish for risking his life among a violent tribe, but Elliot believed in a greater purpose. Before his death at the hands of the very people he sought to reach, he wrote, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." Jim Elliott chose the path of righteousness, dedicating his life to walking in God's ways. Though his earthly journey was cut short, his path to eternal impact and blessing in eternity remains.*

    *Our text contrasts two paths: the way of the righteous, leading to blessing and life, and the way of the wicked, leading to damnation and destruction. The Psalmist describes the difference between the righteous and the wicked. The righteous delights in God's law, avoiding ungodly influences and meditating on the Scripture day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which flourishes in every season. In contrast, the wicked are like chaff blown away by the wind; they are temporary and without a lasting purpose. The psalm ends with a clear truth: "For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."*

    *Every day, we are faced with choices that determine which path we walk and what we will reap at the end. The world constantly offers distractions such as ungodly advice, sinful pleasures, and shortcuts to success. But true blessing comes from delighting in God's word, staying rooted in His truth, and avoiding the influences that pull us away from Him.*

    *Like Jim Elliot, those who walk in obedience may face hardship, but they will ultimately flourish in God's purpose. Their lives bear fruit, even after them; their faith remains firm, and they find true peace in Christ. In contrast, those who reject God's ways may seem successful for a time, but in the end, their path leads to emptiness and destruction. As believers, we must be careful enough to walk circumspectly in the truth revealed in God's word. The path to blessing requires commitment to God's word and a refusal to compromise with the world. We should, therefore, stay planted in Christ, who will ultimately make our lives flourish in time and eternity.*

    *A supplicant is someone who makes petition before God on behalf of others. Epaphras is one of the supplicants in the New Testament. Such a Christian is concerned about others who need God's intervention.*

    *As a child of God, we can follow the "GOM" pattern in our prayer - (God, Others, Me). Prayer is the best gift we can give to fellow believers. The love of Christ constrains us to pray for those who are sick, suffering, afflicted, or backslidden. We pray also for church leaders and the rulers in our nation.*

    *Like Epaphras, believers must pray for the new converts, revival, programmes, and projects in the church. We are to pray for our institutions, teachers, classmates, neighbours, parents, friends, and even foes.*

    *Through intercession, we can achieve much for God. Empathy will enable us to pray effectively for others. Let us bother about others. You are enjoined to "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ" (Galatians 6:2). Bring solution to other believers' problems through your supplication. God's love constrains us to pray for others, like Epaphras did.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee" (Deuteronomy 23:5).*_
    God's love for His children is expressed in many ways. It is the love of God for us that makes Him to give His only begotten Son to save us from our sins, protect us from all evil, provide for our daily needs, heal us when we are sick, and to warn us not to be friends with evil people.
    God showed His love to the children of Israel by turning the curse of their enemies into a blessing, and by warning them not to make friends with those who planned to curse or harm them.
    God knew that these enemies will not change from their selfish and bitter acts toward the children of Israel. They will always want to hurt them. That is why He commanded them not to relate with these enemies.
    *God does not permit us to make friends with ungodly, immoral and wicked people. They will draw us back to sin. We are to pray for them and tell them of the love of Jesus so that they can repent, believe, and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, [and] giving of thanks, be made for all men; ⏤ 1 Timothy 2:1
    Prayer is the key that unlocks all the storehouses of God’s infinite grace and power. ⏤ R.A. Torrey
    O God, You have taught us to offer supplications, prayers, and intercessions for all people. We humbly ask You to hear our prayers, which we offer to Your divine Majesty in the name of Jesus Christ.
    Remember in Your mercy all people whom You have made to dwell on the earth. Deliver them from the many evils and miseries that oppress them. Deliver them especially from idolatry, ignorance, superstition, error, unbelief, and the chains of sin. Send Your gospel to all nations until everyone has heard its joyful message. Bless all missionaries and organizations dedicated to spreading the gospel. Hasten the coming of Your kingdom among the nations, and bring all Your lost sheep into the fold of the Good Shepherd.
    Remember also, all Your people in Christian lands. You have purchased Your church with Your own blood. We ask You to bless all who call upon Your name in prayer. Fill Your church with more of Your life and Spirit. Equip Your ministers with all spiritual gifts and graces.
    Remember all who are in any trouble. Strengthen the weak and make them strong in spirit. Lift up those who have fallen. Support those who are discouraged and about to give up. Let a special blessing be upon Your children. They cannot find their way home on their own; You must show them the way. Grant that Your people may always keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀💝🌺🎁🌹🎀 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY AUGUST 22, 2O26. " THREE LEVELS OF ATTACK (2)" Then the devil…set Him on the pinnacle...’ Matthew 4:5 NKJV THE ATTACK on the pinnacle. Let’s look at the second temptation Jesus faced: ‘Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, [and] set Him on the pinnacle of the temple.’ Here you deal with the fear of failure. Satan will whisper, ‘You’re on the pinnacle of success now, but you could easily fall off.’ He will bring up your past failures. He will remind you of leaders who crashed and burned. He will say, ‘If people realised how little you really know, or the issues you’re struggling with, they wouldn’t respect you.’ There are two kinds of fear: healthy fear and unhealthy fear. Healthy fear will keep you dependent on God; it will protect you from pride and self-sufficiency. ‘Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall’ (1 Corinthians 10:12 NKJV). But there’s an unhealthy fear that will keep you in the boat when Jesus is calling to you to step out and walk with Him on the water. You say, ‘But Peter almost drowned.’ Yes, but he was the only one of the disciples who experienced the joy of walking on the water! Having faith doesn’t mean you won’t experience a sinking feeling at times. You have a choice. You can give in to fear, or trust the God who has called you, sustained you, and never failed to give you the strength needed to cope with whatever you face. If your own intellect or talents are the basis of your confidence, you have good reason to fear. But if God is the basis of your confidence, you have nothing to fear. [21/08, 10:03 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SATURDAY, 22ND AUGUST, 2026. *WANT TO BE A RESERVOIR OF DIVINE BLESSINGS?* *TEXT:* PSALM 1:1-6. 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. *Timeless Truth:*_"And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God"_ (Deuteronomy 28:2). *INTRODUCTION* Every believer desires the blessings of God, but Scripture makes it clear that divine blessings are connected with the way we live, the company we keep and the delight we have in God’s Word. The text presents a sharp contrast between the righteous and the wicked. The righteous person is not merely blessed, occasionally; he becomes like a fruitful tree, continually supplied by divine grace. Furthermore, for the Old Testament saints, the blessings of God and the God’s Covenants with the Patriachs were majorly earthly and material. However, for the New Testament saints, the blessings are majorly spiritual and heavenly, though, with earthly blessings and wealth embedded. The uniform testimony of the Scriptures is that in order to be blessed by God and even be a reservoir of divine blessings, we must deliberately, separate ourselves from ungodly influences, delight in God’s Word and remain spiritually rooted in Him. *1. The Conditions for Divine Blessings* a. Every creature of God enjoys the blessings of God in some shape and form. For example, the air we breathe is universal and the sunshine and the rain we enjoy are without discrimination though God has the power to do so if He wants. However, there are some blessings of God that are given to select few, in particular His children. They are multidimensional blessings including both physical, material, social and spiritual blessings, spanning through all human needs without exception. Receiving these blessings result into all round prosperity which is promised by God. *"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth"* (3 John 2). Apostle Peter summed up all these blessings as things that pertain to life and godliness. *"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises"* (1 Peter 1:3, 4a). These divinely provided blessings are even richer and deeper than what the Psalmist in the text was aware of. b. The psalmist begins by identifying what the blessed person does not do and what he does. He *"walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful"*. This describes progressive involvement with ungodliness. The blessed person carefully chooses his companions, conversations, character, contacts, connections and control. He is so much in love with the Word of God that he cannot stomach or endure anyone or anywhere the Word of God is being dishonoured. In an age where the demarcation between saints and sinners are being erased, he does not *"stand in the way of sinners"*. He separates himself from the worldly and sinful practices of sinners without being ashamed of standing for the truth and the right. His counsellors and guides in matters of conduct are not the ungodly, but godly people who take the Word of God and go to heaven very seriously. Positively, his delight is in the law of the LORD, and he meditates on it day and night. *Question* Based on the above, are you qualified for daily divine blessings? *2. The Clear Description of the Blessed* a. The description of a blessed man shows that it is pleasant and admirable to be a blessed man. Like a good tree bearing good fruits that are edible and profitable to man, the blessed man is not only blessed by God, he is also a blessing to others. As a good tree gives shade to people when the sun bites hard, the blessed person gives succour and shade to people when they are being bitten by the challenges of life. No wonder, the blessed person is compared to *“a tree planted by the rivers of water”*. The blessings of God are so real that he is never dried up. He remains fresh materially, spiritually and in all areas. Beyond that, he is *"planted by the rivers of water"* where the Word of God flows in his unceasing freshness. b. Such a person never runs out of grace, godliness and goodness. He *“bringeth forth his fruit in his season.”* His life produces visible evidence of God’s work. His leaves do not wither, indicating spiritual vitality even in difficult seasons. Furthermore, *“whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”* He is never a failure in family, business and spiritual ministry because he allows God to always guide his actions, endeavours and always commit them into God’s hands. It does not mean freedom from trials, but it means that a life rooted in God ultimately bears the fruit and accomplishes the purposes God intends. A reservoir does not merely receive water; it stores it for continue usefulness. Likewise, the blessed believer receives divine grace and becomes a channel through which God’s goodness reaches others. *Question* Is my spiritual life deeply rooted enough in God’s Word to remain fruitful in every season? Am I a blessing to others? *3. Cursed Destination of the Barbaric* The wicked are described as *“chaff which the wind driveth away.”* Agricultural chaff consists of the dry, scaly husks and small pieces of straw separated from cereal grains during threshing. It is lightweight, dry, scaly and easily blown away by the wind. It has no economic value. It lacks appreciable weight. It is just good for fire else it will be a nuisance. The ungodly are compared to chaff because they don't add any value to achieving the purpose of God on earth. They are only good for hell fire. Their life is not weighty in character and conduct, but lives on and lives for vanities of life. Those who reject God and persist in ungodliness may appear successful for a season, but their destination is destruction. b. *"The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous"*. Their apparent strength and conscience cannot withstand divine examination. In fact, the judgment would be so fierce that *"the earth and the heaven fled away"* from the presence of God (Revelation 20:11). *“The LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.”* *Question* Am I a chaff before God or wheat? Am I walking on the way of the righteous, or am I allowing the world to shape the direction of my life? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, deliver me from every ungodly association and influence that can hinder Your blessings in my life 🙏. 2.Father, give me an increasing delight in Your Word and grace to meditate on it continually 🙏. 3.Lord, make my life fruitful and a blessing to others in every season🙏 4.Father, preserve Your children from the way of the wicked and make our lives a reservoir and channel of divine blessings to others 🙏. *HYMN:* Is Your Life A Channel Of Blessings? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* DANIEL 6-8. Many thought he was foolish for risking his life among a violent tribe, but Elliot believed in a greater purpose. Before his death at the hands of the very people he sought to reach, he wrote, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." Jim Elliott chose the path of righteousness, dedicating his life to walking in God's ways. Though his earthly journey was cut short, his path to eternal impact and blessing in eternity remains.* *Our text contrasts two paths: the way of the righteous, leading to blessing and life, and the way of the wicked, leading to damnation and destruction. The Psalmist describes the difference between the righteous and the wicked. The righteous delights in God's law, avoiding ungodly influences and meditating on the Scripture day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which flourishes in every season. In contrast, the wicked are like chaff blown away by the wind; they are temporary and without a lasting purpose. The psalm ends with a clear truth: "For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."* *Every day, we are faced with choices that determine which path we walk and what we will reap at the end. The world constantly offers distractions such as ungodly advice, sinful pleasures, and shortcuts to success. But true blessing comes from delighting in God's word, staying rooted in His truth, and avoiding the influences that pull us away from Him.* *Like Jim Elliot, those who walk in obedience may face hardship, but they will ultimately flourish in God's purpose. Their lives bear fruit, even after them; their faith remains firm, and they find true peace in Christ. In contrast, those who reject God's ways may seem successful for a time, but in the end, their path leads to emptiness and destruction. As believers, we must be careful enough to walk circumspectly in the truth revealed in God's word. The path to blessing requires commitment to God's word and a refusal to compromise with the world. We should, therefore, stay planted in Christ, who will ultimately make our lives flourish in time and eternity.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Your stand determines your walk. It is the love of God for us that makes Him to give His only begotten Son to save us from our sins, protect us from all evil, provide for our daily needs, heal us when we are sick, and to warn us not to be friends with evil people. God showed His love to the children of Israel by turning the curse of their enemies into a blessing, and by warning them not to make friends with those who planned to curse or harm them. God knew that these enemies will not change from their selfish and bitter acts toward the children of Israel. They will always want to hurt them. That is why He commanded them not to relate with these enemies. *God does not permit us to make friends with ungodly, immoral and wicked people. They will draw us back to sin. We are to pray for them and tell them of the love of Jesus so that they can repent, believe, and accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Lord, thank You for Your love and protection.     Topic: The Friend Who Pulls You Closer
    Bible Reference
    “Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits.” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)
    A Short Story
    Daniel had always considered himself strong enough to make his own decisions. He believed that no friend could influence him if he did not want to be influenced.
    Then he became close to a group of young people who seemed confident, successful, and exciting. At first, there was nothing obviously wrong with the friendship. They talked, joked, helped one another, and spent time together.
    But slowly, Daniel began changing.
    They started making fun of people who took their faith seriously. Daniel laughed along, even when some of the jokes made him uncomfortable. Soon, he stopped attending some church meetings because his friends had other plans.
    His prayer life also became weaker. Whenever he wanted to pray, someone was calling him to hang out. Whenever he wanted to read his Bible, there was another conversation waiting on his phone.
    One Sunday morning, Daniel's older cousin asked him a simple question.
    “Are your friends helping you become the person you have been praying to become?”
    Daniel became silent.
    He had never looked at his friendships that way before.
    He began to realize that his friends were not necessarily bad people, but their influence was taking him somewhere he did not want to go.
    Daniel decided to become more intentional about the people he allowed close to him. He did not hate his old friends. He simply understood that not everyone could have the same level of access to his life.
    Over time, he became close to people who encouraged his faith, challenged him to grow, and reminded him of his purpose.
    Today's Message
    The people around you can influence you more than you realize.
    Your friends can affect your language, habits, choices, relationships, spiritual life, and even your understanding of what is normal.
    The Bible warns us not to be deceived because bad company can corrupt good character.
    This does not mean you should hate people who do not share your faith. Jesus Himself reached people who were far from God. But there is a difference between influencing people and allowing people to influence you away from God.
    Be intentional about your closest friendships.
    Ask yourself whether the people closest to you are helping you become more disciplined, more godly, more focused, and more purposeful.
    A good friend will not always tell you what you want to hear. Sometimes, a good friend will tell you the truth because they care about who you are becoming.
    Choose friends who make it easier, not harder, to walk with God.
    What To Do Today
    1. Examine the influence of your closest friends.
    2. Spend more time with people who encourage your spiritual growth.
    3. Do not be afraid to create healthy boundaries with negative influences.
    4. Be the kind of friend who also helps others become better.
    Prayer
    Lord, give me wisdom in choosing my friends. Surround me with people who will encourage me to follow You and fulfil my purpose. Help me also to be a godly influence in the lives of others. In Jesus' name, Amen.
    Daily Challenge
    Send a message to one friend who has positively influenced your life and thank them for helping you become a better person.
  • Matthew 19:13-26
    After his treatise on divorce and marriage, Jesus is tired as the disciples are trying to limit the numbers of those approaching them. Again, Jesus emphasizes the importance of the Child and tells them that His kingdom only belongs to those who are as children. So Jesus lays hands on them, imparting blessings we will never know upon them.
    Then as He leaves there, He is approached by a man with the energy of an eager student speaking to his favorite professor asking what's going to be on the test. What good thing must I do to get eternal life? Jesus can see the eager attitude and this man's heart that he isn't truly willing to do what it takes to receive eternal life so he tells him simply, “Keep the commandments”
    At this the man probably felt good, “keep the commandments“? I could do that in my sleep. What else?
    And it's at this question that Jesus looks at him and sees his heart. Sees what it is that would make this man a true follower of Jesus and sees the first thing that will stop his progress.
    Which ones? The man asks and Jesus listed a few, do not murder being the first. I mean it's not all that difficult to not murder someone. And with the eager enthusiasm as a young student would have confidently asks a question you can just hear the tone of as Jesus has answered this man positively the previous three times he asked a question. You can almost hear the smugness as he asks,
    Is there anything else I lack?
    And Jesus addresses the one issue that will keep this man from obtaining eternal life, go, sell all you own to give to the poor and come follow me. And the young man walked away sad because he was rich. There's a saying I never really understood until recently “the poor are some of the most generous people on earth.”
    And I've seen it displayed over and over again. A homeless man offers a dollar to someone in more need than he is. While a rich man seals up his wallet and tucks it away when asked. But Jesus is cautioning his disciples about the rich.
    First, He is not saying that all rich people are condemned as some have done so based on a religion featuring a progressive political agenda that is not what He ever intended. Second, He's essentially saying that following Him will cost the disciple everything.
    If what you have, you cling to, it may be necessary to sell all you have. Any thing(s) that may get in the way of total dedication to Him must be cut off and eliminated.
    It truly is a heavy cost to follow Him. In some countries, following Him costs your life. In this country it's becoming more and more difficult to follow Him if you follow with biblical vigor and faith. For all it costs something, for some, it costs everything.
    [13] Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. [14] But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [15] After laying His hands on them, He departed from there. [16] And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?” [17] And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” [18] Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; [19] Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [20] The young man *said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” [21] Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” [22] But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. [23] And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. [24] And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” [25] When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” [26] And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
    Matthew 19:13-26 After his treatise on divorce and marriage, Jesus is tired as the disciples are trying to limit the numbers of those approaching them. Again, Jesus emphasizes the importance of the Child and tells them that His kingdom only belongs to those who are as children. So Jesus lays hands on them, imparting blessings we will never know upon them. Then as He leaves there, He is approached by a man with the energy of an eager student speaking to his favorite professor asking what's going to be on the test. What good thing must I do to get eternal life? Jesus can see the eager attitude and this man's heart that he isn't truly willing to do what it takes to receive eternal life so he tells him simply, “Keep the commandments” At this the man probably felt good, “keep the commandments“? I could do that in my sleep. What else? And it's at this question that Jesus looks at him and sees his heart. Sees what it is that would make this man a true follower of Jesus and sees the first thing that will stop his progress. Which ones? The man asks and Jesus listed a few, do not murder being the first. I mean it's not all that difficult to not murder someone. And with the eager enthusiasm as a young student would have confidently asks a question you can just hear the tone of as Jesus has answered this man positively the previous three times he asked a question. You can almost hear the smugness as he asks, Is there anything else I lack? And Jesus addresses the one issue that will keep this man from obtaining eternal life, go, sell all you own to give to the poor and come follow me. And the young man walked away sad because he was rich. There's a saying I never really understood until recently “the poor are some of the most generous people on earth.” And I've seen it displayed over and over again. A homeless man offers a dollar to someone in more need than he is. While a rich man seals up his wallet and tucks it away when asked. But Jesus is cautioning his disciples about the rich. First, He is not saying that all rich people are condemned as some have done so based on a religion featuring a progressive political agenda that is not what He ever intended. Second, He's essentially saying that following Him will cost the disciple everything. If what you have, you cling to, it may be necessary to sell all you have. Any thing(s) that may get in the way of total dedication to Him must be cut off and eliminated. It truly is a heavy cost to follow Him. In some countries, following Him costs your life. In this country it's becoming more and more difficult to follow Him if you follow with biblical vigor and faith. For all it costs something, for some, it costs everything. [13] Then some children were brought to Him so that He would lay His hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them. [14] But Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them to come to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [15] After laying His hands on them, He departed from there. [16] And someone came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?” [17] And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” [18] Then he *said to Him, “Which ones?” And Jesus said, “You shall not commit murder; You shall not commit adultery; You shall not steal; You shall not give false testimony; [19] Honor your father and mother; and You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [20] The young man *said to Him, “All these I have kept; what am I still lacking?” [21] Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” [22] But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property. [23] And Jesus said to His disciples, “Truly I say to you, it will be hard for a rich person to enter the kingdom of heaven. [24] And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” [25] When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, “Then who can be saved?” [26] And looking at them, Jesus said to them, “With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    FRIDAY JULY 31, 2O26.
    "CONTROL YOUR TONGUE "
    '…If we could control our tongues, we…could also control ourselves in every other way.’  James 3:2 NLT
    THE SAYING goes, ‘We are like cats; we lick ourselves with our tongues!’ When someone spreads gossip, mark that person carefully. Why? Because if they talk to you about somebody else, they’ll talk to somebody else about you. The Bible warns us about three things: 1) a hasty tongue. ‘Do you see a man hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him’ (Proverbs 29:20 NKJV). If you take time to get the facts, much of the time you’ll speak differently. Hannah prayed so passionately for a child that Eli the high priest thought she was drunk. When the disciples saw Jesus walking toward them on the Sea of Galilee, they thought He was a ghost. So think, or better yet, pray before you jump to conclusions. 2) a flattering tongue. ‘…There is no faithfulness in their mouth…they flatter with their tongue’ (Psalms 5:9 NKJV). Say what you mean and mean what you say. Be genuine. When you flatter people, you manipulate them for your own ends. Don’t do that. Give it to them straight. If you love them, be truthful with them. 3) a judgmental tongue. Jesus said, ‘Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you’ (Matthew 7:1-2 NKJV). If you live long enough, you’ll be guilty of many of the same things you’re so quick to condemn in others. The truth is, how you deal with other people determines how God deals with you.
    ```TEXT:LUKE 22:7-12```

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat" (LUKE 22:8).*_
    *One of the most enduring and longest placed dining tables in the world is in the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India. The palace was built by Nawab Viqar-ul-Umra, and it was completed in 1894. The dining table was crafted with the finest materials available at that time. It is 108-foot-long and is designed to seat 101 guests. The table is part of the furniture still used today at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, which has been converted to a luxury hotel. It takes an uncommon table to entertain uncommon guests.*
    *It was Passover time and for Jesus, it would be His last with His disciples. He wanted to celebrate it in an uncommon way. He instructed them to go and prepare a place for the feast, though, unknown to them, He had by divine power, already put arrangements in place. Getting the work done well will take their willingness, faith in His word and implicit obedience to His instructions for them to make a success of their assignment. Jesus sent Peter and John on this special assignment and wonderfully enough, on this occasion, Peter did not ask questions. He went as instructed and found the words of Jesus true to the letter.*
    *There is nothing on earth that can take our Lord by surprise. John says Jesus "needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man" (John 2:25). He knew the houses and spaces available for Him. He knew the locations and available "large rooms" furnished to receive Him. But He did not take chances by keeping the guests wondering when He would come. He sent an advance party to get all things ready.*
    *The Lord Jesus is coming again and He wants you to be ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has gone to prepare a place for the elect and He wants us to be watchful and prepared for the glorious occasion. Peter and John did not hesitate to carry out His plan to get the table for the feast ready. He has great expectations that you will carry out His instructions. Will you let Him down?*
    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold" (LUKE 19:8).*_

    *The _Collins Dictionary_ defines restitution as one, "the act of giving back something that has been lost or stolen;" two, "the act of compensating for loss or injury by reverting as far as possible to the position before such injury occurred;" and three, "the return of an object or system to its original state, especially a restoration of shape after elastic deformation."*

    *This three-layer definition of restitution provides a clear picture of what restitution entails in the Christian faith. Restitution is important because it shows how repentance and conversion come with a broken and contrite spirit. The example of Zacchaeus in the Bible demonstrates that becoming a disciple of Christ requires restoring to others what has been taken wrongfully.*

    *Restitution concretises your repentance and it also makes people around you to know about the grace of God which could help you to be desirous of amending your ways. Seek to amend your ways today by restoring things taken from others wrongfully and by restoring peaceful relationship with those you offended. Seek counsel from mature believers to handle cases that may implicate others.*

    John borrowed a story book from the library and forgot to return it. In church, years after he left primary school, he heard a message on restitution. He made up his mind to take the book back to his former school. The head teacher of the school was very happy with John.

    When we become saved, God expects us to make right all our wrongs. Perhaps you took something that does not belong to you, return it to the rightful owner. If you told a lie or bore false witness against an innocent person or gossiped about your pastor, friend or teacher, then, you must do your restitutions and make things right with them.

    The verse three (3) of our text says, *"Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein". You must return all that does not belong to you to the rightful owners and confess to people you have wrongfully accused. When you do these, God will bless you with peace, joy and progress.*

    *OBEDIENCE UNTO DEATH*

    *TEXT:* LUKE 22:7-12.

    7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
    8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
    9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare?
    10 And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
    11 And ye shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
    12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross"_ (Philippians 2:8).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Willing and joyful obedience to God and His Word is one of the clearest distinguishing marks of a child of God. An unconverted person will see obedience as a burden and when he may be willing he may not have the power to obey. When someone is genuinely converted, all forms of resistance and reluctance in obeying God are given a deadly blow. The more consecrated he is, the more tender his heart is and the more surrendered to the will, word, way and wisdom of God. Obedience is the practical proof of love for God. As the hour of His suffering drew near, Jesus did not avoid the Father’s will; He moved steadily toward the cross even when it was not convenient. In this passage we see obedience displayed first by the Saviour, then by His servants and finally by those who would become obedient saints. True discipleship is not selective obedience, but complete surrender, even when the path leads to sacrifice.

    *1. The Obedient Saviour*

    *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. It is easy to see the ceremonial law as outdated and Jesus could easily have waived it off as inconsequential. Rather, Jesus took it seriously as something that must be obeyed since it had not been abrogated by God. There is also the psychological trauma that He could have used as an excuse for not obeying this law of passover. He knew that the Passover pointed to His own death as the Lamb of God and the thought of it could be very distressing. Yet, He was obedient unto death; He did not resist the divine timetable. His obedience was deliberate, timely and total.
    b. Obedience to the Word of God should be total and there should not be any excuse when the Word of God is clear. He teaches us that obedience is not merely doing what is easy; it is submitting to God’s will even when it involves suffering. There is no record of spots in the character of Jesus though He passed through most emotionally tasking situations and circumstances. We are to follow His example and this will take determination, consecration and prayer for grace.

    *Question*

    Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss?

    *2. The Obedient Servants*

    a. Jesus sent Peter and John with specific instructions concerning the Passover preparation. *"Go and prepare us the passover that we may eat"*. They were told what to do, where to go and whom to follow. That kind of commandment was strange. The disciples were always with Jesus and they never saw or heard Him telling someone about using his house for passover. It was natural for people like Peter not to "play the fool" but rather ask questions from Christ so as to be more certain. Surprisingly, they did not ask Jesus for clarifications, argue, delay or substitute their own ideas; they simply obeyed. Actually, the instructions were detailed enough that without any question they could easily follow the instructions of Jesus. But it would require faith in the Omniscience and Omnipresence of Jesus to obey.
    b. Pride and unbelief are two major drivers of disobedience. He who will follow Jesus must have faith in Christ as the faithful Lord of heaven and earth. He is Omnipotent and Omniscient. There must be humility too. It is the humility of Christ that made Him submit to God's Word and paid the ultimate price for the salvation of mankind. Obedient servants trust the wisdom of their Master even when they do not fully understand His instructions. God often guides step by step and blessing follows those who respond promptly.

    *Question*

    Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans?

    *3. The Obedient Saint*

    There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. He might have been among those multitudes that have heard of Jesus and perhaps followed Jesus. He is a type of secret saint or secret disciple of Christ. The owner of the house responded positively when the disciples conveyed the Master’s request. He made available a large furnished upper room for the Lord’s use. This unnamed man became an example of a saint whose possessions, home and resources were surrendered for God’s purpose. Obedience is
    not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious.

    *Question*

    Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely .
    2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life .
    3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end .
    4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience .

    *HYMN:* Trust and Obey

    *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4.

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

    Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14

    It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer

    O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. The morning calls us again to worship You, and we gladly come to Your feet with our praise. It is fitting that we should bring You our hearts' worship. We have been called from death, as it were, for in our sleep we were like the dead. Our waking is a new beginning of life. We give ourselves to You for another day. We dedicate this day to You and want to make it entirely Yours. We want to make it a holy day, without blemish. We don't want to do anything to stain its white page. We want to write on this little page of ours only beautiful things—a record of worthy deeds, faithfulness, kindness, and unselfishness.

    But we know that we can only make this day white and worthy with Your help. We are naturally selfish—but may You fill us with Your love so that we will do only loving things today. Preserve us from impatience, from outbursts of temper, from quarrelsomeness, and from all harsh and bitter speech. Help us as a family to live together with affection, bearing with one another, restraining anger and unkind feelings, and showing only thoughtfulness, gentleness, and sweetness of spirit. Help us to make our home a place of love where no sharp or unkind words are spoken, where each person thinks only of the others' happiness. Make our home one where Jesus Himself would be glad to be a constant guest.

    Then may our home today be a center of holy influence that spreads light, warmth, and cheer to other homes. There are homes without Your love—without the blessing of Your love revealed and understood. May the influence of our home help to make these homes truer. We ask this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.

*1. The Obedient Saviour* *"Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.”* The law of the passover had been in existence for thousands of years since the children of Israel were delivered from Egypt. *Question* Am I willing to obey God when obedience demands sacrifice, inconvenience or personal loss? *2. The Obedient Servants* a. *Question* Do I obey God promptly or do I delay until His command agrees with my own plans? *3. The Obedient Saint* There was no evidence that Jesus had ever met this owner of the house on one on one. Obedience is not limited to dramatic acts; it includes the faithful dedication of what we have to the service of Christ and willingness to give up anything the Master asks for, no matter how precious. *Question* Is my life, my home, my time and my substance fully available for the Lord’s use? Is there any aspect of the Word of God that you waive aside because you are not willing to obey? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord Jesus, give me a heart that delights to obey You completely 🙏. 2.Father, remove every spirit of disobedience, delay and self-will from my life 🙏. 3.I consecrate my life, family, home and resources for Your service and keep me obedient unto the end 🙏. 4.Circumcise the heart of Your children and purge them from secret, silent and sinning disobedience 🙏. *HYMN:* Trust and Obey *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* PHILIPPIANS 1-4. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. ⏤ Psalm 19:14 It is not what a man does that determines whether his work is sacred or secular, but why he does it. ⏤ A.W. Tozer O You who dwell in the heavens, we lift our eyes to You. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/26/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.

    Guard Your Thoughts
    Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Proverbs 4:23 (MSG)

    What you think constantly matters because it is your thoughts that shape your reality. If you don't control them, the world will control you instead. Your mind is a storehouse of information, the powerhouse for gathering of ideas, the labour room where visions are born, and the workshop where everything about your life is worked out.

    Your thinking also determines your victory when faced with challenges that look more than you can naturally cope. Battles are won or lost in the realm of thoughts before they are acted out in the physical arena. No matter how equipped you are, it is the state of your mind that will determine your success. You need to think positively, creatively and triumphantly even when external circumstances appear negative. You will overcome! This is your day.

    Wisdom Fountain: “You either control your mind or it controls you.”
    Prayer: Father Lord, I pray for the power and strength to guard my mind. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit to take every wrong thought captive. When negative, anxious, or harmful thoughts try to enter, give me the wisdom to spot them immediately. Give me the courage to cast down anything that does not honour You. Fill my mind with Your peace, Your truth, and Your light in Jesus’ name.

    TITLE: "FINISHING WELL: A LIFE THAT LEAVES AN ETERNAL LEGACY"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    1 Chronicles 29:28 (KJV) And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour: and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.

    Revelation 14:13 (KJV) And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "The greatest success in life is not merely how long we live, but how faithfully we live so that our works continue to speak after we are gone."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    Every believer desires to live a meaningful life, but God also desires that we finish well. King David's life, despite its imperfections, ended with a testimony of God's goodness and faithfulness. The Bible says he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honour. These expressions describe more than material prosperity; they portray a life that fulfilled God's purpose and ended with dignity.

    The phrase "good old age" reminds us that a fulfilled life is measured not merely by years but by walking faithfully with God throughout life's journey. Longevity becomes a blessing when it is accompanied by wisdom, obedience, and fruitful service.

    David was also full of days, meaning he lived a complete life under God's divine purpose. He invested in God's kingdom, prepared the way for the next generation, and left behind a legacy of worship, leadership, and devotion. A fulfilled life is one that positively influences others and advances God's purposes beyond one's lifetime.

    Revelation 14:13 shifts our attention from earthly achievements to eternal reward. Those who die in the Lord are called blessed because they enter into everlasting rest after faithfully serving Christ. Their earthly struggles end, but their works follow them. This does not teach salvation by works, for salvation is by God's grace through faith. Rather, it reminds us that every act of obedience, every sacrifice made for Christ, every soul impacted, and every seed of kindness sown carries eternal significance.

    Life is temporary, but what is done for Christ is eternal. Therefore, believers should live each day intentionally—serving faithfully, loving sincerely, walking humbly, and preparing others to continue God's work. The true measure of success is not what we accumulate but the legacy of faith we leave behind and the eternal reward that awaits those who remain faithful to the end.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)

    2 Timothy 4:7–8 (KJV)
    I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

    Psalm 116:15 (KJV) Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. A successful life is one that faithfully fulfils God's purpose from beginning to end.

    2. True legacy is measured by lives transformed and God's kingdom advanced, not by earthly possessions.

    3. Every act of obedience done for Christ has eternal value and will never be forgotten by God.

    4. Those who remain faithful to Christ have the assurance of eternal rest and heavenly reward.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Live each day with eternity in view. Serve God faithfully, bless others intentionally, and invest your time in works that honour Christ and leave a godly legacy.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, help me to live faithfully, finish well, and leave a legacy that glorifies You. May my life and works bring honour to Christ both now and for eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    I choose to live faithfully and finish well. My life will glorify God, bless generations, and produce eternal fruit. I shall leave a legacy of faith, and my labour in the Lord will never be in vain. Amen.

    TITLE: "Living a Life of Noble Purpose"

    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)

    Isaiah 32:8 (KJV) "But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand."

    Titus 2:7 (KJV) "In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,"

    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON

    "A noble life is built by noble choices, and a godly example leaves a legacy that outlives its owner."

    DAY'S REFLECTION

    God desires His children to be people of noble character whose lives are marked by generosity, integrity, and good works. Isaiah declares that a noble person plans noble things and remains steadfast because of those honourable decisions. Our actions are often the result of the values we have cultivated in our hearts. When our motives are pure, our lives become a blessing to others.

    Paul instructed Titus to set an example in every area of life. Sound teaching must be accompanied by a lifestyle of sincerity, dignity, and integrity. People are more likely to believe the message of the gospel when they see it reflected in the lives of those who proclaim it. Our daily conduct either strengthens or weakens our witness for Christ.

    Imagine a respected community leader who is known for fairness, honesty, and generosity. When disagreements arise, people naturally seek that person's counsel because years of consistent character have earned their trust. Likewise, believers who consistently practise kindness, truthfulness, and humility become trusted witnesses whose lives point others to Christ.

    Every day presents opportunities to choose what is noble rather than what is convenient. Whether at home, at work, in school, or in ministry, let your words, attitudes, and actions reflect the character of Jesus. A life of good works may not always receive immediate recognition, but it will always bring glory to God and leave an enduring influence on others.

    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) WITH FULL VERSES

    Matthew 5:16 (KJV) "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

    Philippians 4:8 (KJV) "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)

    1. Noble character begins with godly thinking.

    2. Good works give credibility to our Christian witness.

    3. Integrity and sincerity honour God.

    4. Consistent godly living influences others positively.

    5. A Christ-like life leaves a lasting legacy.

    EVERYDAY ACTION

    Choose one act of kindness today.

    Be truthful in your words and actions.

    Look for opportunities to serve others.

    Live in a way that honours Christ.

    PRAYER

    Heavenly Father, help me to live with integrity and noble purpose. Let my life reflect Christ and become a blessing to everyone I meet. In Jesus' name, Amen.

    DECLARATION

    I will live a life of noble purpose. My character reflects the nature of Christ. I am an example of good works. God will use my life to bless others. Everything I do will bring glory to God.
