• Scripture Focus: Ecclesiastes 3:11 & 4:6

    "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has set eternity in the human heart... Better one handful with tranquility than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind."

    If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on an endless treadmill—working harder, achieving more, yet still feeling strangely unsatisfied—the book of Ecclesiastes gives us a compassionate reality check.

    Solomon had access to all the wealth, wisdom, status, and pleasure the world could offer. Yet when he looked at the endless loop of human striving, he called it what it was: "a chasing after the wind."

    You can run as fast as you want after the wind, but you’ll never catch it. When we expect temporary things (like productivity, approval, or material success) to give us permanent soul-satisfaction, we end up exhausted.

    Why? Because God "set eternity in the human heart." You were created with an eternal capacity that temporary things were never designed to fill.

    • Your worth isn't measured by your output.

    • Your peace isn't found in having every timeline figured out.

    • Your soul was built for communion with God, not constant performance.

    Today, take a deep breath. You don't have to grasp for two handfuls of busy toil when God offers you one handful of genuine peace with Him.

    Tuesday July 14
    Clear Conscience
    And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. Acts 24:16

    God has given you a clear conscience which is essential for your victory in spiritual warfare. Your conscience is the inner umpire that distinguishes for you what is right and wrong. It is the power that dwells in your spirit urging you to do right and warning you to steer clear of wrong. Your conscience is what approves or disapproves your decisions and helps regulate your choices.

    A clear conscience is an invaluable asset. It is widely considered the ultimate foundation of inner peace, providing the comfort and tranquility needed to navigate life without the heavy burden of guilt, regret, or deceit. Your conscience will not be defiled when you refuse to rationalize or excuse your action and try to hide it from God. This is your day.

    Wisdom Fountain: “The best sleeping pill is a clear conscience.”
    Prayer: I thank You my Father for the gift of clear conscience. I ask that You search my heart and mind. If there is anything I have done, said, or thought that displeases You or brings guilt, reveal it to me so I can make it right. Give me the wisdom to make honourable choices and the peace that comes from a life lived in truth in Jesus' name.

  • Jude 1:2 Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.

    This is such a short verse that you may wonder how we can go through an entire devotion on it today. Or you look at the words and think, “It’s just a greeting. How insightful can that be?” Let’s dive in and see what we can learn today!

    Let’s start with a brief history and some context. The book of Jude was written by Jude, who identified himself as a servant of Jesus as well as the brother of James who is recognized as the half-brother of Jesus. That would make him a half-brother to Jesus as well. His audience was Christians who were in need of warning of the false teachers that were infiltrating the church and twisting God’s grace into something it was never meant to be.

    This verse is the opening benediction of the letter. It is an apostolic prayer that Jude gave to them. He spoke mercy, peace, and love over them in his prayer. But it wasn’t just any mercy, peace, and love. He prayed that they would experience it in abundance.

    Jude prayed for God’s mercy for them. He blessed them with a prayer that they would experience God’s compassion in the forgiveness of sin and His provision of strength in weakness or times of doubt. And he prayed that they would experience this in abundance.

    He prayed for an abundance of peace for them. This was for the protective tranquility of God that can anchor our mind while also bringing unity within the church. This is in direct contrast to the effects the false doctrine was having within the church. Instead, he prayed that the peace of God would fill them and their church. And over the past 11 days we have explored just how amazing and fulfilling His peace can be.

    And his prayer concluded with a blessing of love. He wanted them to experience the active, enduring devotion that only comes from God. This is the kind of love that spurs us to live a life that is holy and pleasing to Him, a life that helps protect believers from the lies of the enemy, and in this case, false teachers who were infiltrating the church.

    He then continued with his letter which led into a strong warning about the false doctrine and what it meant for them as believers. We will not get into that in today’s devotion since it is not our focus.

    What conclusion can we draw from this?

    As believers, we need to be firmly rooted in our beliefs. We need to know God’s Word and should be seeking His will. Doing so helps to keep us from falling into error or falling victim to false doctrine. Instead of operating on our own strength, we need to learn to lean into His grace, into His abundant peace.

    We also need to follow the example of Jude. He wished mercy, peace, and love on others. We should be cultivating these virtues ourselves, virtues of forgiveness (mercy), calmness (peace), and the fruit of the Spirit (love) in our own relationships but also encouraging it in others. By being secure in our own beliefs and having a solid foundation, we can avoid stumbling over false teachings or falling victim to toxic environments.

  • Good evening, brethren.
    1. Evening devotion for today.

    ED.i. *DAILY WALK WITH CHRIST*
    (COCIN DEVOTIONAL)

    *DATE:*
    THURSDAY 9TH JULY, 2026.

    *SUB-THEME:*
    THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING GOD'S GRACE.

    *TOPIC:*
    LOSS OF PEACE.

    *TEXTS:*
    PSALM 37:38; ISAIAH 48:22.

    *PSALM 37:38.*
    38. But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked.

    *ISAIAH 48:22.*
    22. “There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”

    *TOPIC:*
    LOSS OF PEACE.

    *THE MESSAGE:*
    Peace is tranquility and calmness, even in the midst of violence. People who deliberately disregard God's grace live in disarray. Their life is characterised by fear, anxiety, and chaos. In this condition, the Psalmist declares that they have no hope for the future unless they return to God. Those who engage in acts of terrorism, kidnapping, fraudulence, armed robbery, rituals, and the like will not experience the peace of God. Sadly, those who claim to have professed Christ are often guilty of some of these sins in their pursuit of meeting their basic needs. Brethren know that there is no harmony between the path of wickedness and righteousness. Choose wisely and enjoy peace with God and man.

    *REFLECTION:*
    There's no peace for the wicked.

    *PRAYER:*
    Heavenly Father, I renounce wickedness in Jesus' name. Amen.

    *MEMORY VERSE FOR THE MONTH:*
    HEBREWS 10:29.
    How much more severely do you think one deserves to be punished who has trampled on the Son of God, profaned the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insulted the Spirit of grace?

    *TODAY'S BIBLE READING PLAN:*

    ```TEXT:MATTHEW 6:27-34```
    ``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (MATTHEW 6:33).*_

    *In our text, Jesus taught His disciples and the multitudes the importance of trusting God and prioritizing His kingdom over material concerns, such as food and clothing. Having anxiety over such things reflects lack of faith in God's provision, care, faithfulness, and sovereignty.*

    *He reminds us that if our Heavenly Father can clothe the lilies of the field so beautifully, then He will certainly provide for His children, who are of far greater value to Him.*

    *Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, requires believers to prioritize their relationship with God by loving Him above all else. This passage teaches us to focus on things which have eternal value, such as our salvation, holiness, consistent obedience to God's word, and spreading of the gospel. As we obey the Lord's command, God's promise of daily provision will be fulfilled in our lives.*

    *Sinning youths should first give their hearts to Jesus, and then cast their care upon Him. He will take care of them. By putting God first, we align ourselves with His will, trusting that He will faithfully meet our needs and guide us through life's uncertainties.*

    ```QUOTE:``` _*He will faithfully meet our needs.*_
    2. Evening Prayer for today.
    EP.i. Evening Prayer
    To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God [is] our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ⏤ Psalm 46:1
    Faith is to prayer what the feather is to the arrow; it feathers the arrow of prayer and makes it fly swifter and pierce the throne of grace. ⏤ Thomas Watson
    Night has fallen again, and we come to find refuge in You. You are our safe place and our strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. We don’t fear the darkness because You’re there too. It’s just Your way of wrapping us up in Your care. You’re as present in the darkness as You are in the light. Let the night cover us like Your wings—where we find safety, warmth, and blessing.
    Not everything went well today. We had our struggles. Our hearts were hurt. But You are the healer—will You heal us? Take the tangled messes we’ve made, straighten them out, and weave them into something beautiful! Take the dark moments of today, the things that seem wrong, and by Your grace, turn them into blessings. Help us let go of the complicated parts of our lives that we can’t fix and trust You to bring good out of them.
    We ask for a stronger faith so that we never doubt Your love or goodness. Save us from fear and from disbelief. Help our weak faith to grow. Help us see the invisible truths and rest on them like a solid rock!
    Forgive the sins of this day. Thank You for all Your goodness. Watch over us tonight and bless us with restful sleep, giving us renewed strength. If we wake up in the morning, let us be ready for a new day of service. We ask all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
  • Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
    Are you a peacemaker or would someone label you a troublemaker? Or do you stand aside, indifferent and uninterested? Whatever role you take, we are called by Jesus to be peacemakers. He said the peacemakers are blessed and will be called children of God. I don’t know about you, but when people see me I want them to think, “Wow, she is a child of God.” I want them to look at me and my behaviors/actions and see Him, not me.
    The Greek word eirene is again used in this verse, but this time it is a compound word combined with the Greek word poieo, which means to make. It is directly translated as blessed are the peacemakers (to make peace). When we covered eirene the past few days, we saw that it is a supernatural state of wholeness, tranquility, and harmony, all coming directly from God. But when combined with the word poieo we get a statement on wholeness and well-being, as well as active reconciliation, not just escape from conflict.
    Being a peacemaker means taking action and not sitting by passively observing. These people take initiative to heal relationships that have been severed and to help overcome evil through positive, Godly actions. A peacekeeper, on the other hand, is simply someone who avoids conflict to maintain a sense of calm. Or to put it another way, peacekeepers work to suppress issues in order to keep the peace (hence peace KEEPER). Peacemakers enter the fray to resolve them, making the peace a reality. As believers, we act as ambassadors of Christ, actively bringing spiritual peace to people by sharing the Gospel with them and helping with reconciliation.
    Our actions as peacemakers reflect the heart of God. We choose to actively mirror His character in our behaviors and interactions with others. In the ancient times, when someone resembled someone else’s character, they were recognized as their son, even if they did not share a blood bond. That is what we do as God’s ambassadors, imitating Christ and following His lead. And because of this, we are called children of God. We are adopted into the family, given a new identity, and become recipients of His gift of eternal life.
    So how does this relate to us today?
    As Christians and ambassadors of Christ, we are called to a higher level of living. We are called to share the Gospel and point others to Him, and through this we help them reconcile relationships, especially the relationship with God. We also need to follow instructions from Matthew 18:15 and take steps to heal broken relationships and address conflict head on. When others are caught up in conflict be sure you don’t take sides. Instead, actively seek ways to reconcile and bring about peace once more. And in our own disagreements, try to understand the other’s view. Exercise empathy and listen to what is being said rather than looking for a reason to argue.
    Blessed are the peacemakers. Being blessed is not just about temporary happiness. It means experiencing a state of divine spiritual well-being and approval from God. And when we act on His behalf, when we seek to make peace, He rewards us. He calls us His children and we are blessed.
  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.
    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY JULY 6, 2O26.
    "IT'S UP TO YOU"
    ‘…He will reward each person according to what he has done.’   Matthew 16:27 NIV
    THE BIBLE says, ‘For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels and then He will reward each person according to what he has done.’ Let’s be clear: how you live now will determine what happens to you after you die. The choices you make each day don’t come to nothing when you pass away. They matter and they’ll continue to matter throughout eternity. Your eternal destination is determined by what you believe, but your eternal reward is the result of how you behave. If you believe that and live accordingly, it will change how you think about life, how you think about God, indeed what you do one minute from now. God wants you to know that the positive consequences of your actions today can change your eternal prospects in astounding and wonderful ways and He doesn’t want you to waste another minute. You don’t have to worry what awaits you on the other side of your last heartbeat. Others don’t decide that—you do! When the truth of this hits you, you’ll say, ‘I can’t believe I’ve prepared for my children’s future and my own retirement, but not given a thought to my real future!’ One man put it like this: ‘I’ve always thought about finishing well.     MD.ii. THE JOURNEY TO ETERNITY
    "But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." - Philippians 3:20
    You might not realize it, but you are traveling, you are traveling to eternity. You do not know yet when you will reach your final destination. Your journey on earth can suddenly come to an end. It is very important to know where you will be spending eternity. God is a good God and He prepares a heavenly home for all who want to believe in His Son Jesus Christ.
    When Jesus was preparing His disciples for His death and resurrection, He said: 'Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in Me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am' (John 14:1-3).
    A wonderful place
    Heaven is a place prepared for everybody who acknowledges that they have sinned and believe in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Heaven is a wonderful place where there are no sins, no worries, no sorrow, no sickness or death, no fear or pain, but eternal joy, peace, tranquility and where God's glory and divine light shines. When we reach that place, all tears will be wiped from our eyes. Heaven is the place where the throne of God stands and where His army of millions of angels live. Jesus Christ Himself is there and there will be countless multitude from every nation, tribe, generation and language. They will praise and worship Him with a loud voice. The twenty-four elders, the four living creatures and the angels will worship God and proclaim: 'Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!' (Revelation 7:12).
    And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, [do] all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. ⏤ Colossians 3:17
    There is no wonder more supernatural and divine in the life of a believer than the mystery and ministry of prayer. ⏤ A.W. Tozer
    God, as we start another workweek, we ask for Your blessing. Help us carry the rest and lessons of Sunday with us as we face the busy days ahead. Even if we’re too busy for quiet reflection, may the memories of Sunday inspire us throughout the day. Let the songs and prayers of yesterday keep lifting our hearts as we work.
    Help us live out what we learned yesterday in our everyday lives. We want our faith to be real in everything we do. We’ve caught glimpses of Your beauty, and now we want that beauty to shine through us. We’ve read Your commandments, and we want to follow them so that our lives reflect Your goodness.
    But it’s not always easy to do what’s right. We make good resolutions on Sunday, but during the week, it’s easy to forget them and fall back into old habits. We need more of Your grace to help us stay faithful and do our best. Our spirit is willing, but we often struggle to follow through. Strengthen us, God, so we can keep our promises and live out our intentions to obey and serve You.
    Let the spirit of Sunday carry into our week, making it bright with love, truth, and goodness. Help us not to fail in our work, our duties, or our challenges. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌺🌹🎁🎀💝 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY JULY 6, 2O26. "IT'S UP TO YOU" ‘…He will reward each person according to what he has done.’   Matthew 16:27 NIV THE BIBLE says, ‘For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with His angels and then He will reward each person according to what he has done.’ Let’s be clear: how you live now will determine what happens to you after you die. The choices you make each day don’t come to nothing when you pass away. They matter and they’ll continue to matter throughout eternity. Your eternal destination is determined by what you believe, but your eternal reward is the result of how you behave. If you believe that and live accordingly, it will change how you think about life, how you think about God, indeed what you do one minute from now. God wants you to know that the positive consequences of your actions today can change your eternal prospects in astounding and wonderful ways and He doesn’t want you to waste another minute. You don’t have to worry what awaits you on the other side of your last heartbeat. Others don’t decide that—you do! When the truth of this hits you, you’ll say, ‘I can’t believe I’ve prepared for my children’s future and my own retirement, but not given a thought to my real future!’ One man put it like this: ‘I’ve always thought about finishing well. Now it turns out that death is just the starting gate.’ The truth is that you can’t do anything about your past, but starting right now you can change your future—one choice, one day, one act at a time.   • John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
    What is more comforting than the words of Jesus telling us not to be afraid but to receive His peace. Not only does He say He is leaving us with peace, but He says it will be HIS peace. How amazing is that? What could be better than the peace of Jesus in our lives?
    Jesus offered these words in reassurance to His disciples on the night before He was crucified. He wanted them to feel comfort about His departure from this world, as well as to be prepared for the upcoming trials they would face and the promise of the Holy Spirit yet to come. When they heard that He was leaving them and would be betrayed, they were left confused and unsettled and probably afraid of what was to come.
    And that is when He offered them peace. Using the word shalom, which we learned yesterday is the Hebrew word for peace, was often done as a greeting when people parted ways. Jesus took it to a higher level though, offering a divine peace, an inner tranquility that transcends everything else.
    He told them that no one gives the way He gives. The world gives us one thing, but He grants something far better and longer lasting. Nothing the world offers, like possessions, safety, or political stability, can even come close to that which He offers to us. And what is better, He offers it to use freely, no strings attached. His peace is more than just an absence of conflict in our lives. It is an inward calm and spiritual well-being.
    And then He told them to not let their hearts be troubled and to not be afraid. This is a direct command that accompanies His provision of peace. It is through that extra command and His peace that believers, you and I, have the power to choose trust over panic, no matter how hard life might feel when you are going through it.
    What are you facing today? Whatever it may be, know that He has peace to offer you, His peace. Just like we learned that God’s perfect peace was available to us, so is Jesus’s peace. Turn to Him today, embrace that peace, and choose to trust Him instead of worrying or stressing over the unknown and yet to come.
  • Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.
    In today’s verse, we find ourselves in the book of Isaiah. It comes from a passage in which the prophet Isaiah was encouraging the Israelites to have hope in the midst of coming destruction and political upheaval. His goal was to assure Judah that peace comes from God’s steady presence, not from a lack of difficulty and chaos.
    He begins by speaking of perfect peace. Peace, we have already learned, is harmony, tranquility, and an inner calm, granted by God. But what is the term in the Hebrew language and why does Isaiah call it perfect peace? Can peace become MORE peaceful? Isn’t it peaceful already? No, it is not an oxymoron. Let’s explore that deeper.
    The phrase perfect peace is translated from the Hebrew as shalom shalom. Yes, that is not a mistake. Shalom twice. In Hebrew, when a word is repeated it is emphasized or intensified. This was Isaiah’s way of saying that they would experience a peace that was beyond peaceful. It would be a complete, all-encompassing, uninterrupted peace that comes from God and is given to those who trust and follow Him.
    Isaiah goes on to mention those who have a steadfast mind, or a mind that stays with God. This tells us that the battle one faces for obtaining peace begins in the mind. Our thoughts and focus guide us through our days. If we are not focusing on God, we are easily led astray and into chaos. But the mind that is steadfast through absolute trust in God is a mind that is governed by peace - and not just any peace, but perfect peace. When we lean on God instead of on ourselves, we experience His perfect peace.
    This means that we need to shift our focus when it strays from Him and His goodness. When our mind starts to shift to the struggles you face, anxiety, uncertainty, or something worse, we lose our focus on God and what He wants for us. Instead we need to anchor our thoughts on God and meditate on His Word day and night. We must trust in His unchanging character and His absolute, supreme sovereignty. We are to take every thought captive and give it to God instead of dwelling on things we shouldn’t be focusing on.
    Remember - the root of our peace comes not from the circumstances in which we find ourselves, but rather in the relationship with the One who grants peace. When we deepen our trust in God we rely on Him and not ourselves. We don’t rest on our understanding but exercise faith in God’s plan for our lives and His way of escape from circumstances.
    On a final note - perfect peace does not mean we will escape all hardship or never experience trials again. We are told numerous times that we will not have an easy go of things in life. We will face hardship, persecution, and more. But the key is we face it with shalom deep in our hearts. We know we face whatever is to come with God at our side.
    Today let’s spend a few moments taking thoughts captive and handing them to God. Identify the things that may be stealing your peace today and ask God to carry them for you. Ask Him to fill you with His perfect peace. He is waiting, ready to fill you with peace when you get your focus in the right place once more - on Him.
  • 2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
    Today we look at the end of a letter by the Apostle Paul to the Thessalonians. In his letter, he did a lot of correcting and teaching, being very stern and strict. It was probably a letter that they received that made them feel a lot of conviction, given just how in depth his commands were for their behavior and addressing church discipline, idleness, and persecution.
    Despite the correction and commands regarding behavior, Paul also realized he needed to encourage them. Thus, we get today’s verse. It is near the end of 2 Thessalonians, being the 3rd to last message in the letter. His concluding greeting was filled with well-wishes for the church. His words were meant to fill them with peace after all of the harsh correction.
    Paul told them he wished them peace at all times, in every way. That meant no matter how hard life got, how many storms came or how many troubles they faced, they could rely on the peace of God to fill them and weather the storms together. God’s peace transcends any circumstance or any situation, no matter how bleak and hopeless it may seem at the time.
    Paul’s encouragement was not just written to the Thessalonian church members who were walking in God’s grace obediently, but to all of them, including those who had fallen from grace and were not living godly, holy lives. He had told them not to associate with people who were living in idleness or being disruptive. But he still included those people in his final greeting, reminding them of the grace needed and given to restore harmony.
    And what is better than receiving His grace and being filled with peace? Paul said may the Lord be with them always. And not just being with them always, but be with them ALL. Again, he was pushing them to be united and one body, the Body of Christ, His bride. True peace and tranquility does come from anything we do as believers. Instead, it is a divine gift of God that involves personal companionship with Christ.
    Why did we get a verse like this in our month’s devotions? It is not just a fancy good-bye at the end of the letter, though it does satisfy that role, as well. No, it was a reminder that God is the source of our peace and being with Him and walking in His presence will bring you great comfort in the circumstances you find yourself in.
    We need to learn to embrace all God has for us, especially His presence in times where things feel uncertain or out of control. Focus on His truths. Don’t just ask for resolution in whatever you are facing. Trust in His plan. Trust in Him. He has always been faithful and He will always be faithful. He is our Provider, our Sustainer, our hope, joy, and peace. No one can take that away from you so embrace it fully with everything you’ve got.
    And when anxiety hits, like we know it will, prioritize your response - let prayer be the first thing you do. Cultivate a calm inner peace through prayer and Scripture. Ask God to give you peace to guard your heart during those anxious moments. He is the Lord of peace, afterall.
    The final note as we wrap up today’s devotion. Paul included everyone in his final greeting. We, the current day believers, should do the same. We don’t have to hang out with people who are actively living in unrepentant sin but we do need to choose our response. Extend grace to those who have offended you And choose to be a peacemaker for others.
    I echo Paul’s concluding words: “May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” And I pray the same for each person reading this. Let His peace fill you at all times, in every way because I know that He is with us.
