- The first covenant was based on the Law. But the second covenant came because God loves us. We needed a covenant that would allow even people who had sinned to receive forgiveness, life, and salvation.
Otherwise, all mankind would remain under the curse of sin and would face destruction.
That is why Jeremiah 31:31 says, “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah.” And in verse 34, God says, “For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”
Under the first covenant, the principle was clear: if you kept the Law, you were blessed; if you broke the Law, you came under its curse. But because all people have sinned, the Law could only expose our sin and our guilt. It could not give us the forgiveness and new life that we needed.
Think about the woman who was caught in adultery. According to the Law, she deserved to be stoned. The Law declared her guilt. But Jesus showed us something greater—the mercy and forgiveness of God.
The new covenant is the covenant that can save the person who has sinned. It can save the person who stole. It can save the person who lied. It can save the person who broke God's Law. Hallelujah!
Why? Because God promised, “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.”
Through Jesus Christ, God forgives our sins. He does not continue to hold our past against us. He gives us a new beginning, a new life, and the hope of salvation.
That is how we receive the forgiveness of sins—not because we have perfectly kept the Law, but because God, in His love and mercy, established the New Covenant through Jesus Christ.
Hallelujah! Our sins can be forgiven, our past can be redeemed, and through Christ, we can receive new life and live in the blessing of God.The first covenant was based on the Law. - Who is the greatest? Many people seek power, success, and recognition. But Jesus gives a completely different answer.
In this short Bible message, Jesus teaches His disciples that true greatness is found in humility and serving others. The greatest person is not the one who rules over people, but the one who serves them with love.
Key Bible Verse:
"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." — Mark 10:43–45
