  • The church is not losing ground because the world got stronger.

The church is losing ground because we traded the presence for the program.

The direction of influence is determined by who is in the room. If God is present, the church pulls the world toward light. If God is absent — replaced by our cleverness, our crowd strategies, our entertainment — the world does not stay outside. It walks in, sits down, and begins to redecorate.

And what is true of the church corporately is true of you personally.

    Ask yourself honestly:

What is drawing you — the presence of God, or the pull of the world?

Because something is always drawing. Presence always has direction. You are moving toward God or being moved away from Him. There is no neutral.

The frightening thing about Finney's warning is not that the world is aggressive. It is that the drift is quiet. The church does not announce, "We have departed from God." It simply gets busy. It substitutes noise for prayer, relevance for holiness, performance for worship — and calls the crowd a revival.

But God is not in the crowd. He is in the consecrated.

So here is the purging question for today: What are you prioritizing in your private life that either invites or grieves the presence of God?

Not your Sunday face. Your Tuesday morning. Your daily habits. Your prayer life — or the silence where it used to be.

The presence of God is not automatic.
    It is pursued.
It is cultivated through surrender, through the Word, through unhurried prayer, through holy desperation.

Draw near to God — that is the command. Not a suggestion. Not a spiritual bonus for the advanced believer.
Draw near. And He will draw near to you.

The world will always try to draw the church out. But a church — and a believer — saturated with the presence of God becomes immovable. Magnetic. Dangerous to darkness.

Prioritize the presence. Everything else will find its place.

"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."
    — James 4:8

"Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."
    — 2 Corinthians 3:17

"My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
    — Exodus 33:14

*"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
    — Matthew 6:33

  • THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WISDOM, KNOWLEDGE, AND UNDERSTANDING

Many people use the words wisdom, knowledge, and understanding interchangeably, but according to Scripture, they are distinct and work together. A person may have knowledge without understanding, and understanding without wisdom. However, when all three operate together, they produce excellence, success, and godly living.

    1. KNOWLEDGE IS THE ACQUISITION OF FACTS
Knowledge is information, awareness, or learning about a subject. It is the ability to know something through study, observation, experience, or revelation.
Knowledge answers the question: "What is it?"
For example, knowing that fire burns is knowledge. Knowing the teachings of Scripture is knowledge. Knowing the principles of success is knowledge.
The Bible encourages believers to grow in knowledge:
    "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." {Hosea 4:6}
    "Through knowledge shall the just be delivered." {Proverbs 11:9}
Knowledge is important because you cannot apply what you do not know. However, knowledge alone is not enough.

    2. UNDERSTANDING IS THE ABILITY TO INTERPRET KNOWLEDGE
Understanding is the ability to comprehend the meaning, significance, and implications of what you know.
Understanding answers the question: "What does it mean?"
Many people read the Bible and gain knowledge, but only those who understand can correctly interpret and apply it.
For example, knowledge tells you that God is your Provider. Understanding reveals how God provides and the principles that govern His provision.
    The Bible says:
"Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding." { Proverbs 4:
    "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." {Psalm 119:130}
Understanding gives clarity and insight. It helps you see beyond information into meaning.

    3. WISDOM IS THE CORRECT APPLICATION OF KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
Wisdom is the ability to use knowledge and understanding correctly in practical situations.
Wisdom answers the question: "What should I do?"
A person may know many things and even understand them, yet still make poor decisions because wisdom is lacking.
    For example:
    Knowledge says smoking is harmful.
Understanding explains how smoking damages the body.
    Wisdom chooses not to smoke.
    Knowledge gathers information.
    Understanding interprets information.
    Wisdom applies information correctly.
The Bible places great value on wisdom:
"For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding." — Proverbs 2:6
    "Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding." {Proverbs 3:13}

Without understanding, you misinterpret what you know.
Without wisdom, you fail to apply what you know correctly.
When God appeared to Solomon, he asked for wisdom rather than riches or power.
    "Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people..." {1 Kings 3:9}
God responded by giving him wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, making him one of the greatest kings in history.
    "And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much..." {1 Kings 4:29}

Knowledge tells you what to know.
Understanding tells you why it matters.
Wisdom tells you how to use it.
A successful Christian does not pursue knowledge alone but seeks all three from God. When knowledge, understanding, and wisdom work together, they produce sound judgment, effective leadership, spiritual maturity, and lasting success.
    "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." {Proverbs 9:10}
May God grant you knowledge to learn, understanding to discern, and wisdom to apply His truth in every area of your life. Amen.

  • This is absolutely true.

This is what most Christians don't know and won't accept. The devil will never come to you with something black when he knows the original is white.
He would rather come to you with another shade of white that looks just like the original, making it incredibly difficult to discern without the Holy Spirit (the Lord's Spirit).

    This is the truth.

No matter how slight the deviation, it is still deception.

So, if in the days of the Apostles, I were to bring up the circumcision of the flesh—even though it was a requirement to become a Jew and relate with Jews—when we outrightly know that true circumcision is of the Spirit, haven't I deviated?
    **Yes, definitely**.

One of the major tools the devil uses to deceive us is our mind. He puts thoughts into our heads and sometimes makes us believe they are our own. Our duty is to discern what comes from him and refuse to let it nest.

As the famous saying goes, 'We cannot stop birds from flying over our heads, but we can stop them from nesting in our hair.'
In other words, we cannot stop the devil from tempting us, but we can stop him from nesting.

Also, deception is anything you do not know as the Lord knows it.
This is a hard pill for most people to swallow because they reject the fact that the truth of God is progressive.
This does not mean the Lord Jesus ceases to be our Savior, but rather that He reveals His mind and plans for every specific season (His revealed Word).

This is why the path of the righteous is a light that shines brighter and brighter.

For example, the Mosaic covenant—the shadow of things to come—was not untrue during the physical ministry of the Lord. In fact, the Lord came to fulfill the law.

This is exactly what most scholars of that era missed, for the law itself could not fulfill God's righteousness.

Our takeaway here is to learn from this and avoid making the same mistake. When we hear the word of truth, even if it sounds farfetched or foolish at first, we shouldn't be quick to speak against it. Instead, we should learn to discern with patience, silence, and humility, bound by God's Word and led by His Spirit to know whether it is the truth or not.

  • THE ROAD TO SEXUAL SIN NEVER STARTS IN THE BEDROOM

    A note to every Christian.

Have you ever wondered why some people who once said,

"I will never commit sex outside marriage,"

eventually find themselves trapped in it?

Do you think sexual sin starts the moment two people enter a bedroom?

    The Bible teaches something different.

Sexual sin rarely starts with a physical act.

It starts with a heart that slowly drifts away from God.

It starts with compromises that seem harmless.

    A lingering look.

    An inappropriate conversation.

    Flirtatious messages.

    A private meeting.

    Pornography.

    Romantic fantasies.

    A refusal to establish boundaries.

    Jesus exposed the real battlefield.

"But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart."

    Matthew 5:28

Notice that Jesus did not start with the bedroom.

    He started with the heart.

Because every sinful action is first conceived within.

The story of David teaches the same lesson.

David did not begin with adultery.

    He began with a look.

Instead of turning away, he entertained what he saw.

    His eyes influenced his thoughts.

    His thoughts shaped his desires.

    His desires directed his actions.

One compromise led to another until he committed adultery, arranged a murder, and brought great sorrow upon himself and his family.

Sin never advertises its final destination.

It only invites you to take the first step.

    James describes this progression.

"But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fully grown, gives birth to death."

    James 1:14–15

That is why the battle for sexual purity is won or lost long before physical temptation appears.

It is won in our thoughts, our private lives, and by the decisions nobody else sees.

    The videos we watch.

    The music we consume.

    The conversations we entertain.

The people we spend time with.

    The boundaries we establish.

The places we choose to go.

Every choice is moving us in a direction.

    The question is,

    Where is that road leading?

The Bible does not tell us to see how close we can get to temptation.

It tells us to flee from it.

It tells us to guard our hearts.

It tells us to pursue holiness.

    Dear Christian,

Do not wait until you are in the bedroom to fight sexual temptation.

By then, many wrong decisions have already been made.

Fight the battle where it starts.

    Guard your eyes.

    Guard your mind.

    Guard your heart.

Walk closely with Christ every day.

The safest place is not at the edge of temptation.

It is in obedience to God.

The road to sexual sin never starts in the bedroom.

It starts with the small compromises we refuse to confront.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."

    Proverbs 4:23

    Shalom
