• THANKFUL THURSDAY MORNING PRAYER

    “Lord, We Thank You for Everything!”

    Scripture...
    “O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.” — Psalm 107:1 (KJV)

    Heavenly Father,
    On this Thankful Thursday morning, before we ask You for anything, we want to thank You for everything.
    Thank You for waking us up this morning. Thank You for watching over us through the night. Thank You for the breath in our bodies, the activity of our limbs, and the soundness of our minds. Thank You that when our eyes opened this morning, we were given another opportunity to experience Your grace, walk in Your purpose, and declare Your goodness.
    Your Word says:
    “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24 (KJV)
    So today, Lord, we choose to rejoice. We may not have everything we want, but we thank You because You have been faithful to provide what we need.
    Thank You for What We Saw—and What We Never Saw
    Father, we thank You not only for the blessings we recognize, but also for the things You protected us from that we never knew were coming.
    Thank You for dangers seen and unseen.
    Thank You for doors You closed because something harmful was on the other side.
    Thank You for delays that frustrated us but protected us.
    Thank You for people You removed because they could not go where You were taking us.
    Thank You for the accidents that did not happen, the sickness that did not overtake us, the plans of the enemy that did not prosper, and the traps that never caught us.
    Your Word declares:
    “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” — Isaiah 54:17 (KJV)
    The weapon may have formed, but it did not win!
    The storm came, but it did not destroy us!
    The enemy attacked, but he could not cancel Your purpose!
    We are still here because Your hand has been upon us.
    Thank You for Your Mercy
    Father, thank You for mercy.
    Thank You that You did not give us what our mistakes deserved.
    Thank You for forgiving us when we confessed our sins. Thank You for cleansing us, restoring us, correcting us, and giving us another opportunity to get it right.
    Your Word says:
    “It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23 (KJV)
    New mercy this morning!
    Not yesterday's mercy.
    Not leftover mercy.
    But fresh mercy for a brand-new day.
    Lord, forgive us for every sin—those committed knowingly and unknowingly, in our words, thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Create in us clean hearts and renew right spirits within us.
    Thank You for Jesus
    Most of all, Father, thank You for Jesus!
    Thank You for the cross.
    Thank You for the blood.
    Thank You for salvation.
    Thank You for redemption.
    Thank You that the grave could not hold Him.
    Thank You that Jesus got up with all power in His hands!
    Your Word declares:
    “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son…” — John 3:16 (KJV)
    Jesus, thank You for loving us when we were unlovable. Thank You for reaching for us when we were running from You. Thank You for being our Savior, Lord, Advocate, Shepherd, Deliverer, and Friend.
    Thank You Even in Difficult Seasons
    Father, teach us to thank You even when life does not make sense.
    Your Word says:
    “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV)
    It does not say that everything that happens is good. It tells us that in everything, we can still give thanks.
    So even in the valley, we thank You.
    Even while waiting, we thank You.
    Even when our prayers have not yet been answered, we thank You.
    Even when we cannot trace Your hand, help us to trust Your heart.
    We believe:
    “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God…” — Romans 8:28 (KJV)
    Father, take what was meant to break us and use it to build us. Take our tears and produce testimony. Take our trials and develop endurance. Take our disappointments and redirect us toward Your purpose.
    Lord, Touch Those Who Need Healing
    This morning we lift up everyone who is sick in body, troubled in mind, emotionally wounded, exhausted, grieving, or discouraged.
    You declared:
    “For I am the LORD that healeth thee.” — Exodus 15:26 (KJV)
    Lord, stretch forth Your healing hand.
    Touch those dealing with cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, lupus, dementia, Alzheimer's, chronic pain, and every disease and condition.
    Strengthen weakened bodies. Restore energy. Give doctors wisdom. Guide surgeons' hands. Let medications work as intended. Bring peace to caregivers and families.
    We pray for those fighting battles in their minds—anxiety, fear, depression, loneliness, grief, confusion, and despair. Let the peace of God guard their hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
    Lord, Provide for Every Need
    Father, remember those looking for employment. Open the right doors.
    Remember those who need promotions and increases.
    Remember families struggling financially.
    Remember those facing bills they do not know how they will pay.
    Remember those worried about food, housing, transportation, or other necessities.
    Your Word promises:
    “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:19 (KJV)
    Father, make a way where there appears to no way.
    Give wisdom concerning finances. Provide resources. Create opportunities. Send favor. Connect people with the right opportunities at the right time.
    Bless Our Families
    Lord, cover our families.
    Protect our marriages. Strengthen husbands and wives. Draw parents and children closer together. Heal broken relationships. Restore communication. Bring forgiveness where there has been hurt.
    Protect our children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, grandparents, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended families.
    Let Joshua's declaration become the declaration of our homes:
    “But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15 (KJV)
    Save those who do not know Jesus. Draw back those who have wandered away. Let our homes become places of prayer, peace, love, forgiveness, worship, and the presence of God.
    Order Our Steps Today
    Father, as we go into this Thursday, order our steps.
    Your Word says:
    “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (KJV)
    Guide our conversations.
    Guide our decisions.
    Guide us on the highways.
    Guide us at work.
    Guide us in our homes.
    Guard our mouths so that our words bring life and not destruction.
    Give us discernment so that we recognize what comes from You and what does not.
    When temptation comes, give us strength to say no.
    When opportunity comes, give us wisdom to know whether to say yes.
    When trouble comes, remind us that You are already there.
    We Thank You in Advance
    Father, before we see the answer, we thank You.
    Before the door opens, we thank You.
    Before the healing manifests, we thank You.
    Before the breakthrough comes, we thank You.
    Before the financial situation changes, we thank You.
    Before our loved ones come to Christ, we thank You.
    Because our thanksgiving is not based only on what You do—it is based on who You are.
    You are still God.
    You are still faithful.
    You are still holy.
    You are still sovereign.
    You are still our Provider.
    You are still our Healer.
    You are still our Deliverer.
    You are still our Way Maker.
    You are still our Keeper.
    And You are still worthy of all the glory, all the honor, and all the praise!
    Thursday Declaration...
    Today we declare:
    I will not allow complaining to overpower my thanksgiving.
    I will not allow fear to silence my faith.
    I will not allow yesterday's disappointment to steal today's joy.
    I will not allow what I do not have to make me forget everything God has already done.
    I am thankful.
    I am blessed.
    I am covered.
    I am kept.
    I am loved.
    I am forgiven.
    I am redeemed.
    And because God has brought me this far, I believe He will carry me the rest of the way!
    Father, thank You for yesterday.
    Thank You for today.
    And by faith, thank You for tomorrow.
    May everything we say and do today bring glory to Your name.
    We seal this Thankful Thursday Morning Prayer in the mighty, matchless, wonderful name of Jesus Christ.
    Amen, Amen, and AMEN!

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    THURSDAY AUGUST 20, 2O26.
    "FREEDOM FROM SEXUAL ADDICTION"

    ‘…Help us for the glory of your name…’ Psalms 79:9 NLT

    FOR FIFTEEN years, Mike Cleveland, airline pilot and founder of ‘Setting Captives Free,’ seemed powerless as his addiction to online pornography devastated his life, his marriage and his family. The spiral of lust enslaved him ‘until there wasn’t a moment of his days free from its tortured domination.’ The cycle of prayers for deliverance, followed by repeated indulgence in porn, XXX DVDs, and sex chat-rooms, plunged him deeper into the darkness of despair and He longed to escape the slimy, secluded underworld of secret soul-destroying sin, but every pathetic attempt left him unchanged, unhinged, and uncertain that freedom was possible for him. Mike turned to self-help books, counsellors and friends without success. His repeated disappointment, when every effort failed, led to increasing guilt and self-incrimination. When his wife insisted on a last-ditch visit to see her pastor (all other remedies had been exhausted), the lights in their bleak prison cell suddenly came on. Mike learned that ‘…deliverance belong(s) to the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9 AMP), and its rules are all dictated by Him. Mike’s old motivations for getting clean—‘saving my marriage for my kids’ sake; I’m a Christian, a seminary graduate and preacher’—were full of ‘loopholes and escape clauses’ and produced one botched disaster after another. His pastor taught him that the only viable motivation for getting clean and staying clean was a commitment to glorifying God in all of his decisions, because God delivers the powerless, ‘For the glory of Phillip Kotze name.’ When Mike learned, ‘…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God’ (1Corinthians 10:31 NIV), the doors to freedom from years of sexual addiction began to open. Yours can too.

    THURSDAY, 20TH AUGUST, 2026.

    *FROM FAME TO SHAME*

    *TEXT:* JOSHUA 7:1-6.

    7 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.
    2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai.
    3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few.
    4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai.
    5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water.
    6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"_ (1 Corinthians 5:9).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Israel had just experienced a remarkable victory at Jericho. The intimidating walls had fallen, the people had rejoiced, and Joshua’s leadership had received great honour. *"So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noise throughout all the country"* (Joshua 6:27). Yet, within a short time, that fame turned into shame. It is noteworthy that Israel never lost any battle either under Moses or under Joshua. It was natural for them to think that experience is the best teacher. The text shows clearly the danger of leaning only on experience when it comes to spiritual battles. God must continue to lead and the Word of God must remain final. The text teaches us that yesterday’s victory does not guarantee today’s success when there is hidden disobedience. Sin in the camp can turn triumph into tragedy. God desires not only victorious people, but also holy people.

    *1. Stealing Cursed Properties*

    a. *"For the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing"*. A glorious and happy journey suddenly turned sour and sorrowful because of sin. Many great men have also fallen from glory to grass just because of a single sin that became public.One man sinned and the whole nation suffered for it. The army that the whole Canaanites dreaded and could not conquer was conquered by the sin of a single rebel. Obviously, the tempter and demons had a field day. Achan was guilty of stealing what did not belong to him. That was disobedience to one of the ten commandments, *"thou shalt not steal"*. He did not just steal what belonged to his neighbours, which was equally sin, he stole classified materials that God called accursed and those that were to be reserved for God in His sanctuary. He did not feign ignorance when caught, he knew it was forbidden. He went deeper in his sin by hiding it from people until the knock of death became real. God had expressly commanded Israel concerning the devoted things of Jericho. *"And ye shall in any wise keep yourself from accursed thing, lest ye make yourself accursed..."* (Joshua 6:1). Achan secretly took what God had forbidden. He thought since nobody saw it, God could not have seen it either. His private sin produced public consequences: *“the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.”*
    b. Achan’s action reminds us that what is obtained through disobedience cannot produce lasting blessings. Hidden sin may remain concealed from people, but nothing is hidden from God. The desire for material gain can lead a person from honour to disgrace, from victory to defeat and from fame to shame. Sin will turn fame to shame overnight no matter how long it can be hidden. There are some shame that can never be taken away. Some people's sins are revealed after death and they bring a lot of shame on themselves and their families. The sin of a single person can bring a whole family, church and nation into unlimited ridicule and defeat. *"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"*. There must be care and watchfulness against all forms of sins so as to avoid community, church or societal judgment. Partnership and marriage with accursed and demonized people have deadly consequences and should be avoided.

    *Question*

    Is there anything in my life that I have acquired or retained contrary to God’s command?

    *2. Self-Confidence and Pride*

    a. Israel had so far won all their battles. Jericho had a population of between 1,200 and 3,000 and yet they had to allow God to guide and lead them. As few as they were, the whole army of Israel was involved. The population of Ai was about 12,000. Shouldn't they ask for guidance as usual? They resorted to recommendations of experience without checking up from God. Unconsciously, pride of past successes results in self confidence. The spies returned with confidence, suggesting that only a small force was needed for such a large city. They thought it was their wisdom and might that had earned them a former victory. Their assessment overlooked the most important factor—the presence and favour of God. They trusted their own strength rather than seeking God's direction. Consequently, about three thousand men went to battle and were defeated. b. Success can sometimes produce overconfidence, making us forget that every victory comes from God. *"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will trust the name of the LORD"*. Pride as a result of past victory or success are natural reactions that must be deliberately avoided. Human strength, experience, position, wealth and reputation cannot substitute for dependence upon the Lord.

    *Question*

    Am I depending more on my past achievements and personal ability than on God?

    *3. Supplication with Crying after Defeat*

    a. The shame and defeat brought Joshua to his knees to do what he should have done before sending 3000 for the battle. If he had prayed, remained spiritually sensitive and heard from God, God would have told him not to proceed on the battle, but to settle the issue on ground first. On the other hand, we must commend Joshua for not being touchy. He could have blamed the spies for underestimating the population of Ai. He could have blamed the defeated soldiers for being careless and not smart enough. Joshua did not do that. He could see abnormality and spiritual implications in the unusual and unexpected defeat. When strange things happen to us contrary to the Word and promise of God, we should learn to see the face of God and hear His Word on the matter.
    b. Israel’s defeat brought fear, discouragement and deep sorrow. Joshua tore his clothes and fell before the Ark of the LORD with the elders, putting dust upon their heads. His response shows that when God's people experience defeat, they must turn to God in humility and supplication. Prayer should not merely be our response after failure; it should be our posture before every major undertaking. Nevertheless, even in defeat, God can reveal the cause of the problem and lead His people back to restoration. The place of brokenness can become the beginning of renewed obedience.

    *Question*

    When I experience failure or defeat, do I genuinely seek God for correction and restoration?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, give me grace to reject every form of disobedience and to flee from every forbidden thing. Keep me from falling into shame and ridicule .
    2.Father, deliver me from pride, self-confidence and dependence on human strength .
    3.Lord, give me a humble and prayerful heart that seeks Your direction before every decision .
    4.Father, wherever Your children have suffered defeat because of disobedience, expose the root cause, forgive, restore and lead them back to victory .

    *UNDERESTIMATING SIN'S DEADLINESS* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:JOSHUA 7:1-6```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads" (JOSHUA 7:6).*_

    *When COVID-19 ran rampant early in 2020, no one could imagine that it would, under twenty-four months, send more than 7.5 million souls to an unprepared eternity while casualties from related causes would be close to 15 million. In its trail were socioeconomic disasters, unemployment, poverty, depression and pervasive suicide. The root cause of the high mortality was the earlier attempts to cover its tracks. An even more dangerous disease - sin - is on the sprawl in our world. It, too, is impossible to keep under wraps because many people do not recognise its deadliness.*

    *Our text unfolds the folly and tragic story of Achan, his sin and the consequences. Against God's command, he had taken some of the spoils from Jericho. And worse was his attempt to cover up the sin by hiding the stolen spoil under the earth in his tent. The consequence of this was the humiliating, ignominious defeat of Israel at Ai, the death of thirty-six valiant men, and the sombre, ominous shadow of failure cast over the camp of God's chosen people. This disaster in battle, on the path of Joshua, led to humiliation, self-examination, prayer and faith, and finally to victory.*

    *Joshua embarked on an awfully painful search and recovery. This is the gist of our text. The magnified leader is now mortified, but he refrained from maligning God. Self-emptied, self-humiliated and broken, Joshua's primary concerns were twofold: loss of innocent Israelites and the tender regard for the honour of God's name. He wailed: "O Lord, what will thou do unto thy great name?" He conceded both justice and wisdom to God. Neither did he blame the spies he sent out for furnishing the nation with supposedly inaccurate security reports. Nor did he castigate the soldiers who were defeated in battle for cowardice. Joshua did not underestimate the deadliness of sin. He wisely resorted to the only window left, namely, mercy, as a solution to the present crisis.*

    *The only option you have when ensnared in sin is a broken and contrite heart. Confession of sins, self-examination, and genuine repentance void of any excuse or alibi, coupled with a commitment to do restitution wherever it is needful, are the indispensable steps to be saved or restored to fellowship and favour with the Lord.*

    ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Confessing sin is good, but forsaking sin is much better.*_

    *Unclean instruments will make you dirty and unacceptable in the sight of God. God wants His children to cleanse themselves and remain pure because He does not want to lose any of them to the devil and to hell, a place of eternal perdition.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).*_
    A child who desires to serve God acceptably must offer unto Him a service that is reasonable. This means something that is of highest quality and standard. A reasonable service involves:
    *(i) Offering your body as a living sacrifice, free of blemish or stain of sin.*
    *(ii) Living a holy life.*
    During the Olympic Games, a lot of athletes represented their countries and won various medals. However, some of them were disqualified for various reasons, such as doping (the unlawful use of drugs to enhance performance). They failed because they did not present their bodies for the competition in the natural form.
    Our Bible passage encouraged believers to present their bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, and be not conformed to this world in their way of life. Just like the athletes who were disqualified for falling short of the standard expected of them, any child who falls short of God's expectation will surely be disqualified from entering the kingdom of God.
    *For your service to become reasonable and acceptable to God, you need to genuinely repent of your sins and promise Jesus never to go back to sin anymore. Then you can be assured of eternal life. A service becomes reasonable when it is offered with clean hands and a pure heart.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct [my prayer] unto thee, and will look up. ⏤ Psalm 5:3
    The greatest tragedy of life is not unanswered prayer, but unoffered prayer. ⏤ F.B. Meyer
    O God, we come to You with nothing but our needs and a meager return of gratitude from our flawed hearts. But we are glad to know that You welcome us even with our needs and sins. Reveal Your love to us so clearly that it kindles our love for You, teaching us to love You more.
    This morning calls us to praise and thanksgiving. We’ve slept and awakened, preserved and refreshed by Your care. Our lives have been renewed through sleep, and now the sun shines on us again, bringing us joy. Give us a Father’s morning blessing as we step into the duties of this new day. Purify our hearts so that our thoughts and feelings may be pure. Grant us diligence, honesty, truthfulness, and a spirit of service so that we may carry out our tasks in a way that honors Your name.
    May we learn more and more how to walk with Jesus in the ordinary days, the week-days, so that they too may be brightened by Your grace. Preserve us from foolishness, idle words, and anything that would profane our lives or damage the impression we leave on others. May our daily walk be a living gospel. May we be a blessing to everyone we meet. Keep us from discouraging others. Help us to live in such a way that everyone who knows us will find it easier to be true, holy, and happy.
    Grant us now a Father’s morning blessing. Then we will be stronger throughout the day, safe amid temptation, and able to live sweetly and for You, through Jesus Christ. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY THURSDAY AUGUST 20, 2O26. "FREEDOM FROM SEXUAL ADDICTION" ‘…Help us for the glory of your name…’ Psalms 79:9 NLT FOR FIFTEEN years, Mike Cleveland, airline pilot and founder of ‘Setting Captives Free,’ seemed powerless as his addiction to online pornography devastated his life, his marriage and his family. The spiral of lust enslaved him ‘until there wasn’t a moment of his days free from its tortured domination.’ The cycle of prayers for deliverance, followed by repeated indulgence in porn, XXX DVDs, and sex chat-rooms, plunged him deeper into the darkness of despair and He longed to escape the slimy, secluded underworld of secret soul-destroying sin, but every pathetic attempt left him unchanged, unhinged, and uncertain that freedom was possible for him. Mike turned to self-help books, counsellors and friends without success. His repeated disappointment, when every effort failed, led to increasing guilt and self-incrimination. When his wife insisted on a last-ditch visit to see her pastor (all other remedies had been exhausted), the lights in their bleak prison cell suddenly came on. Mike learned that ‘…deliverance belong(s) to the Lord’ (Jonah 2:9 AMP), and its rules are all dictated by Him. Mike’s old motivations for getting clean—‘saving my marriage for my kids’ sake; I’m a Christian, a seminary graduate and preacher’—were full of ‘loopholes and escape clauses’ and produced one botched disaster after another. His pastor taught him that the only viable motivation for getting clean and staying clean was a commitment to glorifying God in all of his decisions, because God delivers the powerless, ‘For the glory of [His] name.’ When Mike learned, ‘…whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God’ (1Corinthians 10:31 NIV), the doors to freedom from years of sexual addiction began to open. Yours can too. Bible In A Year: Lam 1:1 – 3:39, Matt 19:15-30, Ps 119:121-128, Pro 18:13-20. [19/08, 8:10 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* THURSDAY, 20TH AUGUST, 2026. *FROM FAME TO SHAME* *TEXT:* JOSHUA 7:1-6. 7 But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing: for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took of the accursed thing: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel. 2 And Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Bethaven, on the east of Bethel, and spake unto them, saying, Go up and view the country. And the men went up and viewed Ai. 3 And they returned to Joshua, and said unto him, Let not all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and smite Ai; and make not all the people to labour thither; for they are but few. 4 So there went up thither of the people about three thousand men: and they fled before the men of Ai. 5 And the men of Ai smote of them about thirty and six men: for they chased them from before the gate even unto Shebarim, and smote them in the going down: wherefore the hearts of the people melted, and became as water. 6 And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the LORD until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads. *Timeless Truth:*_"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"_ (1 Corinthians 5:9). *INTRODUCTION* Israel had just experienced a remarkable victory at Jericho. The intimidating walls had fallen, the people had rejoiced, and Joshua’s leadership had received great honour. *"So the LORD was with Joshua; and his fame was noise throughout all the country"* (Joshua 6:27). Yet, within a short time, that fame turned into shame. It is noteworthy that Israel never lost any battle either under Moses or under Joshua. It was natural for them to think that experience is the best teacher. The text shows clearly the danger of leaning only on experience when it comes to spiritual battles. God must continue to lead and the Word of God must remain final. The text teaches us that yesterday’s victory does not guarantee today’s success when there is hidden disobedience. Sin in the camp can turn triumph into tragedy. God desires not only victorious people, but also holy people. *1. Stealing Cursed Properties* a. *"For the children of Israel committed a trespass in the accursed thing"*. A glorious and happy journey suddenly turned sour and sorrowful because of sin. Many great men have also fallen from glory to grass just because of a single sin that became public.One man sinned and the whole nation suffered for it. The army that the whole Canaanites dreaded and could not conquer was conquered by the sin of a single rebel. Obviously, the tempter and demons had a field day. Achan was guilty of stealing what did not belong to him. That was disobedience to one of the ten commandments, *"thou shalt not steal"*. He did not just steal what belonged to his neighbours, which was equally sin, he stole classified materials that God called accursed and those that were to be reserved for God in His sanctuary. He did not feign ignorance when caught, he knew it was forbidden. He went deeper in his sin by hiding it from people until the knock of death became real. God had expressly commanded Israel concerning the devoted things of Jericho. *"And ye shall in any wise keep yourself from accursed thing, lest ye make yourself accursed..."* (Joshua 6:1). Achan secretly took what God had forbidden. He thought since nobody saw it, God could not have seen it either. His private sin produced public consequences: *“the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.”* b. Achan’s action reminds us that what is obtained through disobedience cannot produce lasting blessings. Hidden sin may remain concealed from people, but nothing is hidden from God. The desire for material gain can lead a person from honour to disgrace, from victory to defeat and from fame to shame. Sin will turn fame to shame overnight no matter how long it can be hidden. There are some shame that can never be taken away. Some people's sins are revealed after death and they bring a lot of shame on themselves and their families. The sin of a single person can bring a whole family, church and nation into unlimited ridicule and defeat. *"A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump"*. There must be care and watchfulness against all forms of sins so as to avoid community, church or societal judgment. Partnership and marriage with accursed and demonized people have deadly consequences and should be avoided. *Question* Is there anything in my life that I have acquired or retained contrary to God’s command? *2. Self-Confidence and Pride* a. Israel had so far won all their battles. Jericho had a population of between 1,200 and 3,000 and yet they had to allow God to guide and lead them. As few as they were, the whole army of Israel was involved. The population of Ai was about 12,000. Shouldn't they ask for guidance as usual? They resorted to recommendations of experience without checking up from God. Unconsciously, pride of past successes results in self confidence. The spies returned with confidence, suggesting that only a small force was needed for such a large city. They thought it was their wisdom and might that had earned them a former victory. Their assessment overlooked the most important factor—the presence and favour of God. They trusted their own strength rather than seeking God's direction. Consequently, about three thousand men went to battle and were defeated. b. Success can sometimes produce overconfidence, making us forget that every victory comes from God. *"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will trust the name of the LORD"*. Pride as a result of past victory or success are natural reactions that must be deliberately avoided. Human strength, experience, position, wealth and reputation cannot substitute for dependence upon the Lord. *Question* Am I depending more on my past achievements and personal ability than on God? *3. Supplication with Crying after Defeat* a. The shame and defeat brought Joshua to his knees to do what he should have done before sending 3000 for the battle. If he had prayed, remained spiritually sensitive and heard from God, God would have told him not to proceed on the battle, but to settle the issue on ground first. On the other hand, we must commend Joshua for not being touchy. He could have blamed the spies for underestimating the population of Ai. He could have blamed the defeated soldiers for being careless and not smart enough. Joshua did not do that. He could see abnormality and spiritual implications in the unusual and unexpected defeat. When strange things happen to us contrary to the Word and promise of God, we should learn to see the face of God and hear His Word on the matter. b. Israel’s defeat brought fear, discouragement and deep sorrow. Joshua tore his clothes and fell before the Ark of the LORD with the elders, putting dust upon their heads. His response shows that when God's people experience defeat, they must turn to God in humility and supplication. Prayer should not merely be our response after failure; it should be our posture before every major undertaking. Nevertheless, even in defeat, God can reveal the cause of the problem and lead His people back to restoration. The place of brokenness can become the beginning of renewed obedience. *Question* When I experience failure or defeat, do I genuinely seek God for correction and restoration? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, give me grace to reject every form of disobedience and to flee from every forbidden thing. Keep me from falling into shame and ridicule 🙏. 2.Father, deliver me from pride, self-confidence and dependence on human strength 🙏. 3.Lord, give me a humble and prayerful heart that seeks Your direction before every decision 🙏. 4.Father, wherever Your children have suffered defeat because of disobedience, expose the root cause, forgive, restore and lead them back to victory 🙏. *HYMN:* Yield Not To Temptation *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 38-42. In its trail were socioeconomic disasters, unemployment, poverty, depression and pervasive suicide. The root cause of the high mortality was the earlier attempts to cover its tracks. An even more dangerous disease - sin - is on the sprawl in our world. It, too, is impossible to keep under wraps because many people do not recognise its deadliness.* *Our text unfolds the folly and tragic story of Achan, his sin and the consequences. Against God's command, he had taken some of the spoils from Jericho. And worse was his attempt to cover up the sin by hiding the stolen spoil under the earth in his tent. The consequence of this was the humiliating, ignominious defeat of Israel at Ai, the death of thirty-six valiant men, and the sombre, ominous shadow of failure cast over the camp of God's chosen people. This disaster in battle, on the path of Joshua, led to humiliation, self-examination, prayer and faith, and finally to victory.* *Joshua embarked on an awfully painful search and recovery. This is the gist of our text. The magnified leader is now mortified, but he refrained from maligning God. Self-emptied, self-humiliated and broken, Joshua's primary concerns were twofold: loss of innocent Israelites and the tender regard for the honour of God's name. He wailed: "O Lord, what will thou do unto thy great name?" He conceded both justice and wisdom to God. Neither did he blame the spies he sent out for furnishing the nation with supposedly inaccurate security reports. Nor did he castigate the soldiers who were defeated in battle for cowardice. Joshua did not underestimate the deadliness of sin. He wisely resorted to the only window left, namely, mercy, as a solution to the present crisis.* *The only option you have when ensnared in sin is a broken and contrite heart. Confession of sins, self-examination, and genuine repentance void of any excuse or alibi, coupled with a commitment to do restitution wherever it is needful, are the indispensable steps to be saved or restored to fellowship and favour with the Lord.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*Confessing sin is good, but forsaking sin is much better.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *DANIEL 1-2*📜📜 Underestimating Sin's Deadliness https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 6: YIELD NOT TO TEMPTATION; GHS 246: O BROTHER, LIFE'S JOURNEY BEGINNING; AND GHS 133: OUT OF MY BONDAGE* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna20thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [19/08, 8:10 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```THURSDAY 20TH AUGUST, 2026``` *CHRISTIAN CLEANSING* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🖤🩸🤍🥼🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽 📜📜```TEXT:ISAIAH 52:1-3```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"Awake, awake; put on thy strength, O Zion; put on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city: for henceforth there shall no more come into thee the uncircumcised and the unclean" (ISAIAH 52:1).*_ *Spiritual check-up should be a routine practice for Christians to maintain sanctity.     JESUS: THE MIRACLE WORKER AND TEMPLE OF GOD
    TEXT: JOHN 2:1–25
    KEY VERSE:
    «“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” — John 2:11 (KJV)»
    John 2 introduces us to two significant events in the ministry of Jesus: His first recorded miracle at Cana and His cleansing of the temple.
    These two events reveal something powerful about Jesus.
    He is not only able to change circumstances; He also desires to cleanse and transform lives.
    At Cana, Jesus turned water into wine.
    In the temple, Jesus confronted everything that had corrupted a place meant for worship.
    The message is clear:
    Jesus has power to transform what is empty, restore what is broken, and cleanse what has become polluted.
    THREE LESSONS FROM JOHN 2
    INVITE JESUS INTO YOUR SITUATION.
    At the wedding in Cana, the wine ran out.
    Mary brought the situation to Jesus.
    John 2:3 says:
    «“They have no wine.”»
    The situation appeared embarrassing and hopeless.
    But Jesus was present.
    Sometimes we focus so much on what is missing that we forget who is present.
    You may have a situation that seems impossible today.
    You may have run out of strength.
    You may have run out of resources.
    You may feel like your joy has disappeared.
    But if Jesus is present, there is still hope.
    Take your situation to Jesus.
    Don't only complain about it.
    Don't surrender to fear.
    Don't depend solely on human strength.
    Bring it to Christ. 🏽
    JESUS CAN TRANSFORM THE ORDINARY INTO SOMETHING GLORIOUS.
    Jesus instructed the servants to fill six waterpots with water.
    Then He performed the miracle.
    Water became wine.
    John 2:9 records the servants' astonishment at what had happened.
    This teaches us that Jesus can take ordinary things and use them for extraordinary purposes.
    Your life may look ordinary.
    Your resources may seem small.
    Your abilities may seem insignificant.
    But when you place them in the hands of Jesus, He can do something extraordinary.
    Never underestimate what God can do with a surrendered life.
    Your testimony can change.
    Your character can change.
    Your family can change.
    Your ministry can change.
    Your future can change.
    Jesus is still a transformer.
    OBEDIENCE IS PART OF THE MIRACLE.
    The servants at Cana had a role to play.
    They had to fill the waterpots.
    They had to draw out the water.
    They had to obey the instructions of Jesus.
    They did not understand everything Jesus was doing, but they obeyed.
    Sometimes we want to see God's miracle while refusing to follow God's instructions.
    But faith and obedience belong together.
    When Jesus says forgive—obey.
    When Jesus says pray—obey.
    When Jesus says leave sin—obey.
    When Jesus says serve—obey.
    When Jesus says go—obey.
    You don't need to understand everything before you obey God.
    JESUS CLEANSES THE TEMPLE
    Later in John 2, Jesus entered the temple and found people buying and selling.
    The house of worship had become a marketplace.
    Jesus drove them out and declared:
    «“Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.” — John 2:16»
    Jesus was deeply concerned about the holiness of God's house.
    This should challenge us as believers.
    Paul later teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit.
    Therefore, we must ask:
    What have I allowed into my life that Jesus would want to remove?
    Are there attitudes that need to go?
    Is there bitterness that needs to go?
    Is there secret sin that needs to go?
    Are there relationships that are pulling you away from God?
    Are there habits that are damaging your spiritual life?
    LET JESUS CLEAN YOUR TEMPLE
    Sometimes we ask Jesus to bless our lives while resisting His desire to cleanse our lives.
    We want His miracles but not His correction.
    We want His blessings but not His discipline.
    We want His presence but not His holiness.
    But Jesus does both:
    He transforms and He cleanses.
    Allow Him to examine your heart.
    Allow Him to remove what does not glorify Him.
    Allow Him to restore your spiritual altar.
    DON'T TURN YOUR WORSHIP INTO A TRANSACTION
    The temple was designed for worship, but it had become a place of business.
    This warns us against treating God like a transaction.
    Don't serve God only because you want something.
    Don't pray only when you need something.
    Don't worship only when life is going well.
    Don't follow Christ only for blessings.
    Jesus deserves our worship because He is Lord.
    JESUS KNOWS WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS
    John 2:24–25 says that Jesus knew all people and knew what was in man.
    You may hide things from people, but nothing is hidden from Christ.
    He knows your thoughts.
    He knows your motives.
    He knows your struggles.
    He knows your secret battles.
    And yet He still calls you closer.
    Therefore, don't run from Jesus because of what He already knows.
    Run to Him for transformation.
    ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
    When Jesus enters your life, He does not only change your circumstances; He also cleanses your heart and transforms you into a vessel for His glory.
    🏽 PRAYER
    Heavenly Father,
    Thank You for revealing the power and glory of Jesus Christ through His Word.
    Lord Jesus, come into every area of my life. Transform what needs to be transformed and restore what has been broken.
    Teach me to trust You even when I do not understand Your ways. Give me grace to obey Your Word completely.
    Cleanse my heart from every attitude, habit, desire, relationship, and sin that does not glorify You.
    Make my life a holy temple where Your presence is welcomed and Your name is honored.
    Help me never to treat my relationship with You as a transaction. Let my worship come from a genuine heart that loves and honors You.
    May Your glory be revealed through my life.
    In Jesus' mighty name, Amen. 🏽
    THE CALVARY MINISTRY ONLINE
    Birthright is Evangelism
    ✝️ THE GOSPEL FROM CALVARY 📅 Wednesday, 19th August, 2026 🍷 JESUS: THE MIRACLE WORKER AND TEMPLE OF GOD ✝️🔥 📜 TEXT: JOHN 2:1–25 📜 🔑📖 KEY VERSE: «“This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.” — John 2:11 (KJV)» John 2 introduces us to two significant events in the ministry of Jesus: His first recorded miracle at Cana and His cleansing of the temple. These two events reveal something powerful about Jesus. He is not only able to change circumstances; He also desires to cleanse and transform lives. At Cana, Jesus turned water into wine. In the temple, Jesus confronted everything that had corrupted a place meant for worship. The message is clear: Jesus has power to transform what is empty, restore what is broken, and cleanse what has become polluted. 🔥✝️ 🔥 THREE LESSONS FROM JOHN 2 1️⃣ INVITE JESUS INTO YOUR SITUATION. 🕊️ At the wedding in Cana, the wine ran out. Mary brought the situation to Jesus. John 2:3 says: «“They have no wine.”» The situation appeared embarrassing and hopeless. But Jesus was present. Sometimes we focus so much on what is missing that we forget who is present. You may have a situation that seems impossible today. You may have run out of strength. You may have run out of resources. You may feel like your joy has disappeared. But if Jesus is present, there is still hope. ❤️‍🔥 Take your situation to Jesus. Don't only complain about it. Don't surrender to fear. Don't depend solely on human strength. Bring it to Christ. 🙏🏽 💧 2️⃣ JESUS CAN TRANSFORM THE ORDINARY INTO SOMETHING GLORIOUS. 🔥 Jesus instructed the servants to fill six waterpots with water. Then He performed the miracle. Water became wine. John 2:9 records the servants' astonishment at what had happened. This teaches us that Jesus can take ordinary things and use them for extraordinary purposes. Your life may look ordinary. Your resources may seem small. Your abilities may seem insignificant. But when you place them in the hands of Jesus, He can do something extraordinary. Never underestimate what God can do with a surrendered life. Your testimony can change. Your character can change. Your family can change. Your ministry can change. Your future can change. Jesus is still a transformer. 🔥 ❤️‍🔥 3️⃣ OBEDIENCE IS PART OF THE MIRACLE. 👣 The servants at Cana had a role to play. They had to fill the waterpots. They had to draw out the water. They had to obey the instructions of Jesus. They did not understand everything Jesus was doing, but they obeyed. Sometimes we want to see God's miracle while refusing to follow God's instructions. But faith and obedience belong together. When Jesus says forgive—obey. When Jesus says pray—obey. When Jesus says leave sin—obey. When Jesus says serve—obey. When Jesus says go—obey. You don't need to understand everything before you obey God. 🏛️ JESUS CLEANSES THE TEMPLE Later in John 2, Jesus entered the temple and found people buying and selling. The house of worship had become a marketplace. Jesus drove them out and declared: «“Make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.” — John 2:16» Jesus was deeply concerned about the holiness of God's house. This should challenge us as believers. Paul later teaches that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we must ask: What have I allowed into my life that Jesus would want to remove? Are there attitudes that need to go? Is there bitterness that needs to go? Is there secret sin that needs to go? Are there relationships that are pulling you away from God? Are there habits that are damaging your spiritual life? 🧹 LET JESUS CLEAN YOUR TEMPLE Sometimes we ask Jesus to bless our lives while resisting His desire to cleanse our lives. We want His miracles but not His correction. We want His blessings but not His discipline. We want His presence but not His holiness. But Jesus does both: He transforms and He cleanses. Allow Him to examine your heart. Allow Him to remove what does not glorify Him. Allow Him to restore your spiritual altar. 🔥 DON'T TURN YOUR WORSHIP INTO A TRANSACTION The temple was designed for worship, but it had become a place of business. This warns us against treating God like a transaction. Don't serve God only because you want something. Don't pray only when you need something. Don't worship only when life is going well. Don't follow Christ only for blessings. Jesus deserves our worship because He is Lord. 👑✝️ 👑 JESUS KNOWS WHAT IS IN OUR HEARTS John 2:24–25 says that Jesus knew all people and knew what was in man. You may hide things from people, but nothing is hidden from Christ. He knows your thoughts. He knows your motives. He knows your struggles. He knows your secret battles. And yet He still calls you closer. Therefore, don't run from Jesus because of what He already knows. Run to Him for transformation. ❤️‍🔥 ✍🏽 THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When Jesus enters your life, He does not only change your circumstances; He also cleanses your heart and transforms you into a vessel for His glory. 🔥✝️ 🙏🏽 PRAYER Heavenly Father, Thank You for revealing the power and glory of Jesus Christ through His Word.   • DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 227
    DATE: 15TH AUGUST 2026
    TOPIC: COME BACK TO THE FATHER
    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:Psalm 103:3 (NLT)
    “He forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”
    Devotional message:
    One of the greatest revelations we can receive about the heart of God is that His mercy is greater than our failures. The Psalmist declares that the Lord forgives all our sins, reminding us that no matter how far we have wandered or how seriously we have fallen, there is still an invitation to return to God through genuine repentance.
    Perhaps you have drifted far from the Lord. Perhaps there are things you have done that you are ashamed of, or secret failures that have made you believe that God could never receive you again. But child of God, your sin is not a reason to remain in sin. It is a reason to return to the Father.
    God gives us a beautiful invitation through the prophet Isaiah:Isaiah 1:18 (NKJV)“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the LORD, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow.”
    Notice that God does not tell the sinner to clean himself before coming. He says, “Come.” Restoration begins when we respond to His invitation.
    The Apostle John gives us further assurance:1 John 1:9 (NKJV)“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
    God's forgiveness is not based on how deserving we feel. It is based on His faithfulness and the finished work of Christ. Therefore, do not allow shame and condemnation to keep you hidden from the One who desires to restore you.
    Consider the prodigal son. He believed that his failure had disqualified him from being a son and that perhaps the best he could become was a servant. Yet when he returned, his father ran to meet him, embraced him, clothed him, and restored him to his place.
    This is a picture of the heart of our Heavenly Father.
    The enemy may tell you, “You have gone too far.” God says, “Come back.”The enemy may tell you, “You are no longer worthy to be called His child.” The Father says, “Return to Me.”The enemy may tell you, “You must remain in your shame.” Christ offers forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration.
    Child of God, do not continue hiding in the same sin simply because you have already fallen. Do not allow one failure to become a lifestyle. Come back to the Lord. Confess your sin. Repent. Receive His forgiveness. Allow Him to cleanse you and begin again.
    When God forgives, He does not forgive you so that you can continue living in the same bondage; He forgives you so that you can rise and walk in freedom.
    As Jesus said:John 8:36 (NKJV)“Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
    Your past may explain where you have been, but it does not have to determine where you are going. There is restoration in the Father's house.
    PRAYER
    Heavenly Father, Thank You for Your unfailing mercy and abundant forgiveness. Thank You that my failures do not make You stop loving me. Give me the grace to come before You honestly, confess my sins, and turn away from every wrong path.Help me to live from this day forward in obedience, holiness, and intimate fellowship with You.In Jesus' name, Amen.
  • August 15, 2026 (day 227/365)
    SATURDAY
    GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY
    “Set Apart for God”
    Leviticus 12:7
    “He shall offer them before the Lord to make atonement for her, and then she will be ceremonially clean from her flow of blood. “ ‘These are the regulations for the woman who gives birth to a boy or a girl.”
    This is the Word of God. Leviticus 12 describes the purification process after childbirth and reminds Israel that approaching God was to be taken seriously. The required offering also shows God's provision for restoration and renewed fellowship.
    For us, it points to the importance of recognizing our need for God's cleansing and grace. We do not approach Him because of our own perfection, but because He graciously provides a way for us to draw near.
    May God help us value His holiness, depend on His grace, and live each day set apart for Him. Amen.
    Have a blessed day with the Lord.
  • Daily Bible Lesson.
    TRUTH IS NOT POPULAR—WHY DO SO FEW FOLLOW JESUS IN HIS OWN SABBATH PATH?
    “As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day.” — Luke 4:16
    Luke does not describe a rare visit.
    He reveals Christ’s custom.
    The Sabbath was not an accident in His life.
    It was part of His faithful walk with the Father.
    TRUTH IS NOT DECIDED BY THE CROWD
    Noah stood with God while the world laughed.
    Elijah stood for truth while a nation compromised.
    Jesus stood upon Scripture while religious leaders defended tradition.
    The crowd may be sincere—
    and still be wrong.
    “Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil.” — Exodus 23:2
    Jesus did not ask:
    What is popular?
    What is comfortable?
    What does the majority practice?
    He answered:
    “It is written.” — Matthew 4:4
    Truth is not settled by numbers.
    It is settled by God’s Word.
    JESUS LEFT AN EXAMPLE—NOT MERELY A MESSAGE
    Jesus did not only say:
    “Believe in Me.”
    He also said:
    “Follow Me.” — Matthew 4:19
    The Savior who died for us also showed us how to live.
    “Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow His steps.” — 1 Peter 2:21
    Many admire Jesus.
    Few imitate Him.
    Many call Him Lord.
    Few follow when obedience becomes unpopular.
    “Why call ye Me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?” — Luke 6:46
    JESUS REVEALED TRUE SABBATH-KEEPING
    The same Jesus who created the Sabbath also kept it.
    “The Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath.” — Mark 2:28
    He stripped away man-made burdens and restored its true beauty:
    Worship.
    Mercy.
    Healing.
    Fellowship.
    Rest in God.
    “It is lawful to do well on the Sabbath days.” — Matthew 12:12
    Jesus did not abolish the Sabbath.
    He rescued it from legalism and revealed its Christ-centered purpose.
    The Sabbath points to Him as:
    Creator.
    Redeemer.
    Lord.
    Rest for the weary soul.
    “Come unto Me… and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
    THE SABBATH WILL OUTLIVE SIN
    The Sabbath did not begin with Israel.
    It began in Eden—before sin, before nations, and before denominations.
    “God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3
    Jesus honored it during His earthly life.
    And Scripture reveals that the redeemed will worship from Sabbath to Sabbath in the new earth.
    “From one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me.” — Isaiah 66:23
    The Sabbath began before sin,
    was exemplified by Christ during redemption,
    and will remain when sin is gone forever.
    What God sanctified in Eden,
    what Jesus honored on earth,
    and what the redeemed will celebrate eternally—
    should not be strange to Christ’s followers today.
    ONLY JESUS SAVES
    We are not saved by keeping a day.
    We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
    “By grace are ye saved through faith.” — Ephesians 2:8
    But saving grace does not excuse rebellion.
    It forgives the sinner, transforms the heart, and writes God’s law within.
    “I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” — Hebrews 8:10
    Obedience is not the price of salvation.
    It is the fruit of salvation.
    “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” — John 14:15
    Truth without Christ becomes cold.
    Obedience without love becomes legalism.
    But faith that beholds Calvary produces loving loyalty.
    THE REAL ISSUE IS AUTHORITY
    The deepest Sabbath question is not merely:
    Which day?
    It is:
    Who rules my conscience—Christ or tradition?
    Christ warned against worship built upon human commands.
    “In vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Matthew 15:9
    A tradition may be ancient.
    It may be popular.
    It may be defended by millions.
    But age cannot sanctify error.
    Popularity cannot replace divine authority.
    “To the law and to the testimony.” — Isaiah 8:20
    CHRIST IS CALLING YOU CLOSER
    Perhaps you followed tradition sincerely.
    Jesus is not calling you to pride, bitterness, or argument.
    He is calling you to:
    Repentance.
    Faith.
    Surrender.
    Obedience.
    Repent of placing human authority above His Word.
    Believe—not in your obedience, but in His cleansing blood.
    Surrender to His transforming grace.
    Follow wherever His truth leads.
    “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7
    “These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth.” — Revelation 14:4
    “The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian.” — The Ministry of Healing, p. 470
    The narrow path has never been crowded.
    But Jesus walks there.
    The crowd cannot forgive you.
    Tradition cannot transform you.
    A denomination cannot save you.
    Only Christ can.
    Do not measure truth by the crowd.
    Measure everything by Christ and His Word.
    Prayer
    Lord Jesus, forgive my compromise. Cleanse me by Your blood, write Your law upon my heart, teach me to keep Your Sabbath as You did—with worship, mercy, love, and joy—and give me courage to follow You from this earth into eternity.
It began in Eden—before sin, before nations, and before denominations. “God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.” — Genesis 2:3 Jesus honored it during His earthly life. And Scripture reveals that the redeemed will worship from Sabbath to Sabbath in the new earth. “From one Sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before Me.” — Isaiah 66:23 The Sabbath began before sin, was exemplified by Christ during redemption, and will remain when sin is gone forever. What God sanctified in Eden, what Jesus honored on earth, and what the redeemed will celebrate eternally— should not be strange to Christ’s followers today. ONLY JESUS SAVES We are not saved by keeping a day. We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. “By grace are ye saved through faith.” — Ephesians 2:8 But saving grace does not excuse rebellion. It forgives the sinner, transforms the heart, and writes God’s law within. “I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” — Hebrews 8:10 Obedience is not the price of salvation. It is the fruit of salvation. “If ye love Me, keep My commandments.” — John 14:15 Truth without Christ becomes cold. Obedience without love becomes legalism. But faith that beholds Calvary produces loving loyalty. THE REAL ISSUE IS AUTHORITY The deepest Sabbath question is not merely: Which day? It is: Who rules my conscience—Christ or tradition? Christ warned against worship built upon human commands. “In vain they do worship Me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” — Matthew 15:9 A tradition may be ancient. It may be popular. It may be defended by millions. But age cannot sanctify error. Popularity cannot replace divine authority. “To the law and to the testimony.” — Isaiah 8:20 CHRIST IS CALLING YOU CLOSER Perhaps you followed tradition sincerely. Jesus is not calling you to pride, bitterness, or argument. He is calling you to: Repentance. Faith. Surrender. Obedience. Repent of placing human authority above His Word. Believe—not in your obedience, but in His cleansing blood. Surrender to His transforming grace. Follow wherever His truth leads. “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin.” — 1 John 1:7 “These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever He goeth.” — Revelation 14:4 “The strongest argument in favor of the gospel is a loving and lovable Christian.” — The Ministry of Healing, p. 470 The narrow path has never been crowded. But Jesus walks there. The crowd cannot forgive you. Tradition cannot transform you. A denomination cannot save you. Only Christ can. Do not measure truth by the crowd. Measure everything by Christ and His Word. Prayer Lord Jesus, forgive my compromise. Cleanse me by Your blood, write Your law upon my heart, teach me to keep Your Sabbath as You did—with worship, mercy, love, and joy—and give me courage to follow You from this earth into eternity.
  • DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 226
    DATE: 14TH AUGUST 2026
    TOPIC: BE HONEST
    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE:1 JOHN 1:9 (NLT)
    “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”
    Devotional message:
    One of the differences between a believer who experiences genuine restoration and one who remains trapped in repeated failure is the way we respond when we make mistakes. Many people, when they appear before God after falling, immediately begin to justify themselves, explain why they failed, or point to someone else as the reason for their actions. We see this pattern in the Garden of Eden. When Adam was confronted by God, he pointed to the woman, while Eve pointed to the serpent. Instead of immediately acknowledging their disobedience, they shifted responsibility.
    Child of God, God cannot restore what we are unwilling to acknowledge. Restoration begins when we become honest before Him. There is no need to hide from the One who already knows everything about us. When we come before God with a broken and contrite heart, acknowledge our error, repent, and ask for His help, we position ourselves to receive His mercy and grace.
    The Psalmist understood this posture. David did not merely try to conceal his failures; he came before God and cried for mercy and cleansing. He understood that his greatest need was not to defend himself but to be restored. Psalm 51:10 (NLT) says, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.”
    Sometimes the reason a person keeps repeating the same failure is because they have never truly confronted it before God. They keep explaining it, blaming others, minimizing it, or pretending that it is not serious. But when we acknowledge, “Lord, I cannot overcome this by my own strength; I need Your help,” we begin to experience the grace that enables us to stand.
    This does not mean we should live under condemnation. There is a difference between condemnation and conviction. Condemnation tells you that you are hopeless and should remain in your failure; the Holy Spirit convicts you so that you can repent, be cleansed, and return to fellowship with God.
    Child of God, do not allow pride to keep you in a cycle of defeat. If you have fallen, arise. If you have erred, acknowledge it. If you have become weak, ask for strength. If you have wandered, return to the Father. Your failure does not have to become your permanent identity.
    The moment you acknowledge your insufficiency and surrender yourself to God's help, you open your heart to His transforming grace. His mercy is greater than your failure, and His grace is sufficient to help you walk uprightly.
    True restoration begins with honest acknowledgement, genuine repentance, and dependence on God's grace. Stop justifying the error and allow God to restore you.
    PRAYER
    Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open and honest heart. Forgive me for every error, disobedience, and failure I have tried to justify or hide. Give me the grace to acknowledge my weaknesses without shifting blame.Let Your mercy restore me and Your grace strengthen me to stand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
