• UNDERSTANDING THE TRAVAIL OF ZION
The Burden of Redemption, the Battle for Destiny, and the Travail of a Nation.

What is the travail of Zion, and why must Zion travail?

In this profound biblical teaching, Evang. David Eyoh examines the origins, history, purpose, and spiritual significance of Zion's travail, tracing its foundations to the Fall of Man and the subsequent corruption, bondage, and groaning of creation.

Drawing from Genesis 3, Genesis 4:26, and Romans 8:18–23, this message explores the spiritual crisis that necessitated God's redemptive intervention and the continuing responsibility of God's people in His divine programme.

THREE MAJOR PURPOSES OF ZION'S TRAVAIL

    1. Spiritual Emancipation and Redemption

Discover the relationship between humanity's bondage to sin, death, and corruption and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. Through Isaiah 66:7–9, Isaiah 61:1–3, and other biblical passages, this teaching examines the distinction between Zion's travail and ordinary human experiences of travail.

It also explores the biblical passages concerning Christ's proclamation to the spirits in prison and the extraordinary events associated with His death and resurrection.

    Scriptures: Isaiah 66:7–9; Isaiah 61:1–3; 1 Peter 3:19; Psalm 24:7–10; Matthew 27:50–53.

    2. Spiritual Authority and the Fulfilment of Divine Purpose

Why is spiritual travail necessary for fulfilling divine assignments and actualising destiny?

Explore the relationship between divine calling, spiritual empowerment, skill, leadership, and the fulfilment of God's purposes. From Israel's calling as a kingdom of priests to the skilled individuals entrusted with specialised assignments, this teaching considers how divine purpose requires preparation and faithful stewardship.

    Scriptures: Exodus 19:6; Genesis 4:19–22; 1 Kings 5:6; Exodus 31:1–6.

    3. The Travail of Zion in Hostile Environments

What happens when God's people are called to fulfil their divine assignments in hostile environments?

Using biblical references to Ishmael, Kedar, conflict, and the pursuit of peace, this teaching examines the challenges of fulfilling divine purpose amid opposition, insecurity, political hostility, and social instability.

The message also reflects on Nigeria's historical and contemporary challenges, including colonial exploitation, resource extraction, economic dependence, and the urgent responsibility to build a more productive and just society.

Scriptures: Genesis 16:12; Song of Solomon 1:5–6; Psalm 120:5–7; Jeremiah 6:14.

    THE CENTRAL MESSAGE

Zion's travail must be understood within the broader biblical story of redemption, divine purpose, spiritual responsibility, and the struggle to fulfil God's will in a fallen world.

This teaching invites Christians, intercessors, ministers, missionaries, and Christian leaders to examine the spiritual and practical responsibilities associated with their calling and the transformation of their communities and nations.

  • THE STRONG DELUSION

A man is coming whom the Apostle Paul calls “the Man of Lawlessness.” Paul describes him in more detail in II Thessalonians 1:1-12 and reveals that he is “coming in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness…” (2:9-10). He is the one you often hear called “the antichrist.” Shortly after the Rapture of all true believers into Heaven with Jesus, this global dictator will step onto the world stage and perpetuate the most ruthless evil mankind has ever known. It is not unlikely that he is living somewhere in the world right now.

Paul indicates that his ideology of “lawlessness is already at work” (2:7). We see it in government, entertainment, business, news media, social media, and many other facets of our culture and society. I believe a divine process of separation is already underway to “separate the sheep from the goats” (Matthew 25:31-46).

One way this is happening, Paul says, is that “God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false” (2:11). The specific words Paul uses describe a powerful mental departure from truth and a wholehearted embrace of radical evil and wicked living. The revelation Paul gives that became the foundational Scripture passage for my book series is: “The Spirit explicitly says, that in the later days, some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons” (I Timothy 4:1).

The “ungodly and unrighteous” people Paul identifies in Romans 1 are those who “exchange the truth of God for a lie” (1:25). It is undeniably clear that the focus of that indecency is today’s LGBTQ+ lifestyle. The radical acceptance of this ideology and lifestyle by our government, the psychological & medical communities, the entertainment industry, the corporate world, education, and even religious institutions across our nation is solid evidence that the strong delusion has descended and is being embraced. Is it mere coincidence that this “man of lawlessness” of whom Paul writes is characterized by the prophet Daniel as one who will “show no regard…for the desire of women” (Daniel 11:37)?

In John’s Revelation, this “man of lawlessness” is further described as having “great authority…over every…nation” (Revelation 13:7), and that “no one will be able to buy or sell, except those who have his mark” (13:7). His administration will be fascism on steroids! Every nation on earth will be under his rule, totally dependent on the entitlements of his government, can only earn his currency, and cannot worship in any other religion except the one he declares himself to be the deity of. He will be the epitome of socialism and communism, and the strong delusion of those political ideologies is currently taking shape even in America.

End times conditions prophesied in Scripture are rapidly unfolding in modern times. It is imperative that you are Rapture-ready by surrendering your life to Jesus Christ in a faith commitment to God’s Word, will, and ways of truth.

  • WHEN GOD SPEAKS, WHAT DO YOU HEAR?

    THE POWER OF PROPHECY

Can a word from God change the direction of a person's life?

    Can prophecy speak into purpose?

Can a prophetic word bring encouragement in a season of uncertainty?

Can it awaken something that has been lying dormant?

And perhaps the most important question:

How do we know when a prophetic word truly aligns with God's counsel?

Prophecy is a profound biblical subject.

    It can encourage.
    It can edify.
    It can exhort.
It can bring direction and divine perspective.

But prophecy must never become a substitute for God's Word, spiritual discernment, obedience and a personal relationship with God.

In THE POWER OF PROPHECY, Evang. David Eyoh explores the biblical significance of prophecy and the place of prophetic words in the life of a believer.

    What is prophecy?

    Why does God speak prophetically?

What is the purpose of a prophetic word?

How does prophecy relate to purpose and destiny?

How should a believer respond to prophecy?

Why must prophetic words be tested?

Perhaps you've received a prophetic word.

    Perhaps you're waiting for one.

Perhaps you've watched someone else's prophecy come to pass and wondered about God's dealings with your own life.

Whatever your situation may be, remember:

God's voice is never meant to lead you away from God's Word.

    So don't merely chase prophecy.

    Chase God.

    Don't merely seek a word.

    Seek the One who speaks.

Don't build your destiny on a prophetic declaration.

Build your life on the Word of God.

  • DID JESUS USE THE H-WORD?

One of the most preposterous arguments circulating in the radical sex culture spreading across our land is the suggestion that since Jesus never directly addressed homosexuality, it was not a concern to Him and therefore a lifestyle that is acceptable and divinely blessed. Many naïve and Biblically illiterate people are buying into that notion, and it is a false theory that must be corrected. Note the following four counterclaims to this conjecture.

    The Premise is Dubious

Just because Jesus is not recorded in the Gospels as having addressed any particular subject does not prove He didn’t, nor that whatever that is must be divinely approved or acceptable because He might not have. At the close of his Gospel accounts, John clarified – “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written.” (John 21:25). Accordingly, how can one know with absolute certainty that Jesus never mentioned any subject in particular? Assuming something must be OK solely because a Biblical writer never quotes Christ as having spoken about it is very dubious, especially when it becomes a premise for eternal values. If no one ever heard you mention genocide, do we assume that you approve the killing of senior adults when their failing health becomes a burden to the system?

    The Presupposition is Devoid

Biblical study that is diligent & responsible understands that Scripture must always be interpreted in light of “the whole counsel of God.” (Acts 20:27). One doesn’t get to “cherry-pick” a verse, phrase, or idea from the pages of the Bible, ignore its broader context, and manufacture some practical application to make it justify a behavioral choice, lifestyle, or belief one wants to follow in life. Yet, many today do exactly that!

A persistent argument among today’s LGBTQ+ culture is that since Jesus never specifically mentioned “homosexuality,” even though it was a practice in the Greek & Roman societies of His day, it must be a divinely approved and accepted lifestyle. Is that true? Not if you balance that presupposition with the “whole counsel of God” throughout Scripture. Look at it from these three perspectives:

    The Panoramic Perspective

Jesus knew the Law. He discussed it with rabbis in the synagogue when He was only twelve. He quoted it to Satan in the wilderness temptation. He challenged the ways the scribes and Pharisees of His day twisted and distorted God’s Law. Most assuredly, Jesus knew what the Law taught about homosexuality – “If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act.” (Leviticus 20:13).

The “Law dissenters” of our day boldly insist that the Old Testament Law doesn’t apply to our modern world and that Jesus came to replace it. But that is not what Jesus declared - "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-19). Jesus never questioned the validity of God’s moral law as given to Moses. While Jesus may never have been quoted as using the specific word “homosexuality,” He represented, regarded, and respected the Law of God that clearly did.

    The Particular Perspective

Scripture does not quote Jesus as ever using the word “trinity,” but He spoke often to His heavenly Father, described the Holy Spirit’s role in the believer’s life, and clarified, “I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30). He never used the phrase “security of the believer” (once saved, always saved), but He taught, “I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.” (John 10:28). The lack of specific verbiage does not negate the reality of the divine truth being taught.

Jesus may never have been quoted as using specifically the word “homosexuality,” but He did say, “Whoever divorces his wife, except for immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” (Matthew 19:9). The particular Greek word Jesus used for “immorality” in this verse is PORNEIA, from which we get our English word pornography. It is a word that defines any form of sexual immorality, whether it be fornication, adultery, incest, pedophilia, bestiality, rape, prostitution, and, yes, even homosexuality. Jesus never used some of those specific words either, but that doesn’t mean He approved of sex with children and animals! What gross inconsistency would Jesus express if He excepted divorce in the situation of a man leaving his wife for another woman but not leaving his wife for another man?

    The Precise Perspective

Follow this laser precision – “All Scripture is inspired by God.” (II Timothy 3:16). “All” means every single part and word of the whole. “Inspired” means God-breathed. The Bible is God’s written revelation of Himself to man and contains all we need to live a holy, righteous life according to His authoritative Word of truth (the Bible). The quill & ink may have been in the hands of men like Moses, King David, the prophet Daniel, the disciple John, or the Apostles Peter, Paul, and others, but it was God “breathing” into them the words of Biblical truth. They were simply the human instruments of divine revelation.

Every word of the Bible was ultimately written by the Godhead Trinity – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus described this unique divine conduit – “Whatever (the Spirit) hears, He will speak…for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” (John 16:13-15). This divine conduit actively guided and dictated the written words of Scripture, protecting and preserving its authority and integrity throughout every process, so that the exact 66 books we hold in our hands today are God’s absolute spoken truth to us.

Accordingly, when Moses said it was a “detestable thing” for a man to lie with a man as one lies with a woman (homosexual relations), it was actually Jesus speaking those words. When Paul describes homosexuality in terms of “impurity, dishonor, degrading, unnatural, indecent, and depraved” (Romans 1:21-32), it was actually Jesus speaking those things. The whole counsel of God – the entirety of Scripture – is authored by Jesus. He spoke it all into existence; therefore, Jesus did indeed mention homosexuality!

    The Purpose is Deceptive

It is not just a dubious effort on the part of the LGBTQ+ culture to convince you that homosexuality is normal and acceptable; it is an attempt to entice you into believing that homosexuality is normal and acceptable to God. That is a lie straight from the pits of diabolical darkness!

The Bible reveals this will be a clear manifestation of radically shifting values during the end times – “But the Spirit explicitly says, in the later days, some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons.” (I Timothy 4:1). The Doctrine of Deviation is the demonic ideology driving the LGBTQ+ culture in our nation and world. Yet, many refute that statement, and that too is a characteristic of the end times – “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4). If you think gay sex is OK with God just because Jesus never mentioned it, you have turned aside to a myth. You are believing a lie!

As I was writing this article, a post showed up on my social media feed saying that Jesus never spoke about homosexuality, but He did speak about love. That is the mantra of the progressive culture in our world on this issue. No one has the right to judge but God, and all we are called to do is love, love, love in the name of Jesus. As wonderful as that sounds, that too is out of balance with the whole counsel of God.

Paul defines Biblical, Godly love and emphasizes that true, genuine love – “does not rejoice in unrighteousness,” nor does it act in any way that is “unbecomingly,” or indecent. (I Corinthians 13:5-6). Love cares enough to confront sinful living, and if you can casually watch someone indulge in an unrighteous and unbecoming lifestyle without ever challenging them with the spiritual accountability of their behavior before a holy God, then you really don’t love that person at all!

I’m labeled a hatemonger by those who hate me for writing this article. I accepted that stigma when I decided to always defend God’s Word, will, and ways. Jesus warned me that such assaults would come with the turf – “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.” (John 15:18). I will always tell you the truth, even if you hate me for doing so, because I am more concerned with your eternal destiny than I am with your personal esteem for me. I love you that much!

The TRUTH? Jesus DID mention homosexuality. He warned of its condemnation in the Law of Moses, and He reiterated that condemnation in writers of the New Testament through God-breathed Scripture. One’s eternity is what weighs in the balance – “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals.” (1 Corinthians 6:9). Paul is describing persons who stubbornly and rebelliously persist in these lifestyles without any spiritual remorse or genuine intent toward repentance (abandoning a sinful lifestyle and choosing to live according to God’s righteous truth). That’s not me judging; that’s me quoting God-breathed Scripture written by Jesus Himself.

What you do with it is between you and God.

DID JESUS USE THE H-WORD? One of the most preposterous arguments circulating in the radical sex culture spreading across our land is the suggestion that since Jesus never directly addressed homosexuality, it was not a concern to Him and therefore a lifestyle that is acceptable and divinely blessed. Many naïve and Biblically illiterate people are buying into that notion, and it is a false theory that must be corrected. Note the following four counterclaims to this conjecture. The Premise is Dubious Just because Jesus is not recorded in the Gospels as having addressed any particular subject does not prove He didn’t, nor that whatever that is must be divinely approved or acceptable because He might not have. The Presupposition is Devoid Biblical study that is diligent & responsible understands that Scripture must always be interpreted in light of “the whole counsel of God.” (Acts 20:27). Look at it from these three perspectives: The Panoramic Perspective Jesus knew the Law. The Particular Perspective Scripture does not quote Jesus as ever using the word “trinity,” but He spoke often to His heavenly Father, described the Holy Spirit’s role in the believer’s life, and clarified, “I and the Father are one.” (John 10:30). The Precise Perspective Follow this laser precision – “All Scripture is inspired by God.” (II Timothy 3:16). The Purpose is Deceptive It is not just a dubious effort on the part of the LGBTQ+ culture to convince you that homosexuality is normal and acceptable; it is an attempt to entice you into believing that homosexuality is normal and acceptable to God.
