  • YOU WILL FINISH THE RACE

A Faith Journey Inspired by the Words of Paul

1: The Call to the Race

Life is not a random journey; it is a divine race designed by God. Every person born into this world carries an assignment, a purpose that must be fulfilled. You are not here by accident. Before you were formed, God had already planned your path. The race you are running is not against other people, but toward a divine destination.

The Apostle Paul the Apostle understood this deeply. He saw life as a race that must be run with intention, discipline, and faith. He did not live carelessly, but with a clear focus on finishing what God had started in him. This same calling is upon your life—you are in a race, and you must finish it.

    2: Running With Purpose

In 1 Corinthians 9:24, Paul writes that many run, but only one receives the prize. This is not to discourage you, but to awaken a sense of seriousness. You are not called to run aimlessly; you are called to run to win.

Running with purpose means living intentionally. It means aligning your life with God’s will and refusing distractions that pull you away from your destiny. Many people start the race with excitement, but along the way, they lose focus. They become tired, discouraged, or distracted. But you must remain steady, keeping your eyes on the prize.

  • A HEART OF INTEGRITY: LIVING FAITHFULLY BEFORE GOD

The truth is, God is not playing games. When you make a vow to Him, you enter into a covenant. Breaking that commitment is not a small matter. As seen in Acts of the Apostles 5:4, Peter made it clear that the property belonged to Ananias before he pledged it—but after committing it, it became a matter of truth before God.

This also reveals another important principle: faithfulness begins with the small. If a person is not faithful in giving from little, they will not be faithful when they have much. Obedience is not determined by the size of the blessing, but by the condition of the heart. A faithful heart honors God in every season.

Therefore, we must break every pattern of inconsistency and unfaithfulness. If you have been making promises to God and not fulfilling them, it is time to correct that pattern. Stop playing “hide and seek” with God. Walk in truth, integrity, and reverence.

In raising a generation that will serve God, we must teach them honesty in their commitments. Let them see that when we promise God something, we fulfill it. Let them learn that God deserves the best, not leftovers, and that every offering must come from a sincere and obedient heart.

The story of Ananias and Sapphira is not meant to condemn us, but to awaken us. God desires truth in the inward parts. Let your giving be genuine. Let your promises be fulfilled. And let your life reflect a heart that honors God completely.

  • According to 1 Corinthians 9:16
Preaching the Gospel is not a hobby.

    It is not a platform.

    It is not for applause.

    Necessity is laid upon me.

When God places His Word in a man, silence is no longer an option. I preach because I must.

I speak because obedience demands it.

The message is His, the glory is His, and the urgency is real.

May the Gospel continue to be proclaimed with truth, humility, and power—not for boasting, but for souls.

🏽 Lord, keep us faithful to the call.

  • The Day of Reckoning: You Will Give Account of Your Life

Every human being lives with a silent appointment on God’s calendar.

The Bible calls it The Day of Reckoning—a day when excuses will expire, secrets will be exposed, and every soul will stand before the righteous Judge.

    Rom. 14:12, 2 Cor. 5:10, Heb. 9:27, Matt. 12:36, Rev. 20:11-12

This is not a myth, not a parable, not a mere warning tactic; it is a divine certainty.

“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” – Romans 14:12

Your life is not a random journey. It is a stewardship, and one day you will give a full report of how you lived it.

    1. THE DAY IS APPOINTED AND UNAVOIDABLE

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” – Hebrews 9:27

No one escapes this appointment. Not the rich, not the poor, not the pastor, not the politician.

Death ends earthly opportunities, and judgment begins eternal evaluation.

You will not send a representative. You will stand alone before God.

This truth should provoke sobriety, humility, and urgent repentance.

    2. YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT FOR YOUR WORDS

“But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken.” – Matthew 12:36

Your mouth is not exempt from judgment. Gossip, lies, curses, insults, idle talk, slander, and false promises will all be accounted for.

Words are seeds. On the Day of Reckoning, God will replay every syllable.

    3. YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT FOR YOUR DEEDS

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” – 2 Corinthians 5:10

Every action is recorded in Heaven’s ledger. How you treated people, how you used your gifts, how you managed resources, and how you responded to God’s voice will be reviewed.

Hidden sins are not hidden from God.

“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened…” – Revelation 20:12

    4. YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT FOR YOUR TIME

Time is God’s divine currency. Every wasted hour, every delayed obedience, every procrastinated calling will be questioned.

“See then that ye walk circumspectly... redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” – Ephesians 5:15-16

How did you spend your time? Chasing vanity or pursuing purpose?

    5. YOU WILL GIVE ACCOUNT FOR YOUR SPIRITUAL STEWARDSHIP

Did you grow in the Word? Did you pray? Did you serve? Did you witness? Did you live holy?

“Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” – 1 Corinthians 4:2

Salvation is not a license to live carelessly. Grace is a call to holiness.

    6. THE JUDGE IS RIGHTEOUS AND IMPARTIAL

“For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.” – Ecclesiastes 12:14

God is not bribed. He is not influenced by status, denomination, or emotional stories. His standard is truth and righteousness.

    7. HOW THEN SHOULD WE LIVE?

In light of the coming judgment, we must:

    * Repent sincerely (Acts 3:19)

    * Live holy (1 Peter 1:15-16)

    * Walk in obedience (John 14:15)

    * Serve faithfully (Col. 3:23)

    * Prepare daily (Amos 4:12)

“Prepare to meet thy God.” – Amos 4:12

    CONCLUSION

The Day of Reckoning is not a scare tactic; it is a spiritual wake-up call. The question is not if you will give account, but how you will give account.

    Will God say:

“Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21)
    Or will you hear:
    “Depart from me” (Matthew 7:23)?

Today is the opportunity for repentance. Tomorrow may be the report.

    ALTAR CALL

If you know your life is not aligned with God, now is the acceptable time.

“Behold, now is the day of salvation.” – 2 Corinthians 6:2

    In your heart and say:
"Lord Jesus, forgive me. Cleanse me. Help me to live ready for eternity. I surrender my life to You. Amen."

    CLOSING PRAYER

Lord, teach us to number our days, to walk in wisdom, and to live each moment with eternity in view. Let us not be ashamed on the Day of Reckoning. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • My Service in the Vineyard

    Matthew 20:1–16; John 15:1–8; 1 Corinthians 15:58

Every believer is called to serve in God’s vineyard. The vineyard represents God’s kingdom — His Church, His work, and His mission on earth. Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman” (John 15:1).

Every believer is a branch expected to bear fruit through service, obedience, and love.

Serving in God’s vineyard is not a suggestion; it is a divine responsibility. God saved us not just to sit, but to serve. Your salvation qualifies you for service, and your faithfulness in service determines your reward.

    - UNDERSTANDING THE VINEYARD

    Matthew 20:1–7

In this parable, Jesus likened the kingdom of heaven to a householder who went out to hire laborers for his vineyard. The vineyard is symbolic of God’s kingdom and His ongoing work in the world. Every believer is called to be a laborer in this field.

The owner of the vineyard is God.

    The workers are believers.

The work is spreading the gospel, building lives, and advancing the kingdom.

Whether you are a pastor, usher, singer, intercessor, or evangelist, you have a portion in the vineyard. No role is too small — each one matters to God.

    - MY CALL TO SERVICE

    Romans 12:6–8; 1 Peter 4:10

Every believer has been endowed with gifts for service. “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

Your talent, your time, your voice, your hands, and your resources are all part of your service to God. God doesn’t call the qualified; He qualifies the called.

    Ask yourself:

Am I using my gift for God’s glory?

Am I faithful in the little He has given me?

Am I a contributor or a consumer in the vineyard?

    - THE ATTITUDE OF A TRUE SERVANT

    Philippians 2:5–8

True service begins with humility. Jesus, our perfect example, “made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Him the form of a servant.”
Your service in the vineyard must be characterized by:

Faithfulness: (1 Corinthians 4:2) “It is required in stewards that a man be found faithful.”

Love: Serve not for recognition, but for love of God.

Obedience: Do what He commands, not what pleases you.

Diligence: Serve with zeal, not laziness. (Romans 12:11)

    - REWARDS FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE

    Matthew 25:21; Hebrews 6:10

God never forgets your labor of love. Your service in His vineyard has eternal reward. The faithful servant will one day hear, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”

    Rewards include:

    * Divine promotion (Luke 16:10–12)

    * Spiritual fruitfulness (John 15:5)

    * Heavenly crowns (2 Timothy 4:8)

    * Divine favor and protection (Exodus 23:25–26)

No service rendered to God is wasted. He is a just rewarder.

    - WARNING AGAINST NEGLECT

    Matthew 25:24–30; Luke 13:6–9

God detests idleness in His vineyard. The unfruitful servant lost his talent because he refused to serve. Likewise, the barren fig tree was cut down for not bearing fruit.

If you refuse to serve God, you risk spiritual stagnation, loss of relevance, and missing divine reward.

Do not allow excuses, pride, or discouragement to stop you. Keep serving, even when no one applauds you — for the Master sees all.

    - MY SERVICE IS MY WORSHIP

    Colossians 3:23–24

Serving God is not just a duty; it is an act of worship. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”
Your service should bring glory to God and reflect your gratitude for salvation. Every time you serve with the right heart, heaven rejoices.

Your service in God’s vineyard is your proof of love for Him. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit, He taketh away.” (John 15:2)
Let your life count for God.

Be fruitful, be diligent, be available, and be faithful. The time is short — serve with all your might before night comes when no man can work (John 9:4).

    PRAY THIS PRAYER

    - Lord, thank You for calling me to serve in Your vineyard.

    - Father, strengthen me to serve faithfully without growing weary.

    - Lord, help me to use my gifts effectively for Your glory.

    - Every spirit of laziness and discouragement in my service — be destroyed in Jesus’ name.

    - Let my service produce fruit that will remain in Jesus’ name.

    Pastor Abiodun Kadri

Every time you serve with the right heart, heaven rejoices. Your service in God’s vineyard is your proof of love for Him. Jesus said, “Every branch in Me that beareth not fruit, He taketh away.” (John 15:2) Let your life count for God. Be fruitful, be diligent, be available, and be faithful. The time is short — serve with all your might before night comes when no man can work (John 9:4). PRAY THIS PRAYER - Lord, thank You for calling me to serve in Your vineyard. • If Jesus Tarries

    2 Peter 3:8–10

“But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night…” — 2 Peter 3:8–10 (KJV)

-It reminds us that while we eagerly await His coming, we must live wisely, faithfully, and purposefully in the time given to us.

-Yes, Jesus is coming again—but if He tarries, what will He find us doing? How will He find our faith, our love, our service, and our witness?

    1. The Reason for the Tarrying
    2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise…but is longsuffering…not willing that any should perish.”

The delay in Christ’s coming is not a sign of forgetfulness or weakness but of mercy. God’s heart still beats for souls who have not yet repented.

    He tarries because He loves.

He tarries so the Gospel can reach the unreached.

He tarries so that sinners can turn and live.

Every extra day before the trumpet sounds is a day of grace and opportunity for salvation.

    2. The Duty of the Church While Jesus Tarries

    Luke 19:13

    “Occupy till I come.”

Christ has commanded us to keep working, keep winning souls, and keep building His kingdom until He returns.

    Our duties include:

Preaching the Gospel — Mark 16:15

    Living in Holiness — 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

Encouraging one another — Hebrews 10:25

Doing good works — Matthew 5:16

If Jesus tarries, let Him find us busy for Him, not barren or idle.

    3. The Danger of Forgetting His Coming

    Matthew 24:48–51

“But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming…”

When people forget the reality of Christ’s return, they fall into sin, compromise, and worldliness.

Many mock the promise of His coming (2 Peter 3:4).

Many Christians live as though there is no judgment day.

But delay is not denial. The trumpet will sound suddenly—like a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2).

    4. The Wisdom of the Prepared
Matthew 25:1–13 — The Parable of the Ten Virgins.

Five virgins were wise because they kept their lamps burning with extra oil, while the foolish ones had none. The difference was preparation.

If Jesus tarries, keep your oil burning!

    Keep your faith alive.

    Keep your heart pure.

    Keep your zeal strong.

The wise believer says, “Even if Jesus tarries, I will still live ready.”

    5. If Jesus Tarries, What Should You Do?

    a. Grow in Faith and Character

“But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:18
Do not remain a baby Christian; mature in prayer, love, and obedience.

    b. Win Souls for the Kingdom

“He that winneth souls is wise.” — Proverbs 11:30
Every moment before His coming is a chance to rescue the lost.

    c. Live Ready for Eternity

“Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” — Matthew 24:44
If He comes today, be ready; if He tarries, stay faithful.

    6. The Reward for the Faithful
    Bible Reference: Revelation 22:12

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

Those who remain steadfast, holy, and diligent shall receive the crown of righteousness (2 Timothy 4:8).

When Jesus tarries, don’t lose hope—keep serving with expectation.
When Jesus comes, don’t be ashamed—be found faithfu

My friend in Christ the tarrying of Jesus is not a delay—it is divine patience and purpose.
    If He tarries, keep believing.
    If He tarries, keep working.
    If He tarries, keep watching.
If He tarries, keep winning souls.

And if He comes today, be found ready!

    Pray This Prayer

Lord, help me to remain faithful if You tarry.

Give me strength to serve You until the end.

Let my lamp never go out in the journey of life.

Empower me to use my time for Your kingdom.

Prepare me daily for Your coming.
