Can a person be saved without truly living as a disciple of Jesus Christ? https://youtu.be/vNYr9CKgUyY Salvation and discipleship are closely connected, but they are not exactly the same. Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the daily commitment to follow Jesus, obey His Word, surrender every area of our lives to Him, and become more like Him. In this video, we examine four important differences between salvation and discipleship: • Salvation is a gift; discipleship is a commitment.
• Salvation happens at conversion; discipleship happens daily.
• Salvation rests on what Christ has done; discipleship responds to what Christ says.
• Salvation changes our spiritual status; discipleship transforms our character. We are not saved because we follow Jesus perfectly. We are saved because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. However, those who have received His saving grace are called into a lifetime of following Him. Discipleship is not perfection—it is direction. It is a life that continually turns toward Jesus, even after failure. As you watch, consider these questions: - Have I genuinely placed my faith in Jesus Christ? - Am I following Jesus only when it is convenient? - What area of my life have I not fully surrendered to Him? - Is my character becoming more like Christ? - What act of obedience is Jesus calling me to take today? Many people know John 3:16, but the conversation does not stop there. Jesus Came to Save, Not Condemn** Jesus did not come to create a problem; He came because there already was one. Sin separated mankind from God, but Christ came to rescue sinners and offer salvation through His sacrifice on the cross. **2. Every Person Must Choose What to Do With Jesus** Eternity is divided by one question: What have you done with Jesus Christ? Biblical faith is more than knowing facts about Jesus.
