  • Can a person be saved without truly living as a disciple of Jesus Christ?

    https://youtu.be/vNYr9CKgUyY

Salvation and discipleship are closely connected, but they are not exactly the same. Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Discipleship is the daily commitment to follow Jesus, obey His Word, surrender every area of our lives to Him, and become more like Him.

In this video, we examine four important differences between salvation and discipleship:
    • Salvation is a gift; discipleship is a commitment.
• Salvation happens at conversion; discipleship happens daily.
• Salvation rests on what Christ has done; discipleship responds to what Christ says.
• Salvation changes our spiritual status; discipleship transforms our character.

We are not saved because we follow Jesus perfectly. We are saved because of the finished work of Jesus Christ. However, those who have received His saving grace are called into a lifetime of following Him.
Discipleship is not perfection—it is direction. It is a life that continually turns toward Jesus, even after failure.

As you watch, consider these questions:

    - Have I genuinely placed my faith in Jesus Christ?
    - Am I following Jesus only when it is convenient?
    - What area of my life have I not fully surrendered to Him?
    - Is my character becoming more like Christ?
    - What act of obedience is Jesus calling me to take today?

Share your thoughts in the comments: What area of discipleship is God currently working on in your life?

  • Many people know John 3:16, but the conversation does not stop there. In John 3:17-21, Jesus reveals the heart of the Gospel: He did not come into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.

    https://youtu.be/yilvkDn5v_0

In this message, Patrick looks at the powerful truth that Jesus came as our Rescuer, Redeemer, and Savior. Humanity was already lost in sin, already separated from God, and already in need of rescue. But God, in His great love and mercy, sent His only Son so that we could be saved, forgiven, restored, and made whole.

This sermon walks through three important truths from John 3:17-21:

**1. Jesus Came to Save, Not Condemn**
Jesus did not come to create a problem; He came because there already was one. Sin separated mankind from God, but Christ came to rescue sinners and offer salvation through His sacrifice on the cross.

**2. Every Person Must Choose What to Do With Jesus**
Eternity is divided by one question: What have you done with Jesus Christ? Biblical faith is more than knowing facts about Jesus. True saving faith means trusting Him, relying on Him, surrendering to Him, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior.

**3. The Light Reveals What Is In Our Hearts**
Jesus is the Light of the world. His truth exposes what darkness tries to hide. Some reject the Light because they love darkness, but those who belong to God come to the Light, confess sin, repent, and walk in obedience.

This message is a reminder that the Gospel demands a response. Jesus came to save. The invitation is open. The Light is shining. Will you come to Christ?

    **Reflection Questions:**
Have you trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior?
Are there areas of darkness you are refusing to bring into the light?
Is your life moving closer to Christ or further from Him?

Jesus did not come to condemn you. He came to save you. Come to the Light. Come to Christ. Discover the grace, forgiveness, and new life that only He can give.

  • In this Bible study, Patrick looks at Judges 6:1-10 and the opening of the Gideon narrative. Before Gideon ever steps onto the scene, Scripture shows us the spiritual condition of Israel, the oppression of Midian, and the mercy of God in sending His Word to confront His people.

    https://youtu.be/PgGJGjxKFAI

Bible used in this study: https://amzn.to/4oyiBD8

This passage reminds us that Israel’s greatest problem was not Midian. Their greatest problem was their disobedience to God. Before deliverance comes, God speaks truth. Before Gideon is called, Israel must be reminded of the LORD’s faithfulness, their covenant responsibility, and their failure to obey His voice.
In this study, we will examine the historical background of the Midianite oppression, the repeated cycle of sin in the book of Judges, and the deeper spiritual lessons found in Judges 6:1-10.

God disciplines His people when they turn from Him, but in mercy He speaks truth to call them back.

Judges 6:1-10 is not only a story about ancient Israel and Midianite oppression. It is a warning and invitation for us today. It calls us to examine repeated patterns of sin, remember the faithfulness of God, reject modern idols, and listen carefully to the voice of the LORD.

In this Bible study, Patrick looks at Judges 6:1-10 and the opening of the Gideon narrative. Before Gideon ever steps onto the scene, Scripture shows us the spiritual condition of Israel, the oppression of Midian, and the mercy of God in sending His Word to confront His people. https://youtu.be/PgGJGjxKFAI Bible used in this study: https://amzn.to/4oyiBD8 This passage reminds us that Israel’s greatest problem was not Midian. • In this episode of *A Guy And His Bible*, we walk through Judges 2:16-19 and examine one of the darkest and most revealing cycles in all of Scripture. Even in Israel’s rebellion, compromise, and corruption, God continued to raise up deliverers because of His mercy and compassion.

    https://youtu.be/4xltGAj-DJA

    We discuss:
    • What it meant for God to raise up judges as deliverers
    • Why God rescued Israel even when they did not deserve it
    • How every judge in Scripture ultimately points forward to Jesus Christ
    • The dangerous downward spiral of unchecked compromise
    • Why external religion can never truly change the heart
    • The difference between following church culture and truly following Christ

The book of Judges reminds us that humanity’s greatest need is not better behavior, but a greater Deliverer. Every temporary and flawed judge points us toward Jesus — the perfect Judge, eternal Savior, and final Deliverer.

“There is always more grace than failure.”

  • In this powerful passage from the Book of Judges, we witness a turning point in Israel’s story—a shift from victory to compromise. What begins with faith-filled obedience quickly transitions into partial obedience, hesitation, and ultimately, spiritual decline.

    https://youtu.be/72ZTVoBzTII

This passage sets the tone for the entire book of Judges—a cycle of victory, compromise, oppression, and deliverance. It challenges us to examine our own lives: Are we walking in full obedience, or settling into compromise?

Key Theme: Partial obedience is still disobedience—and compromise always has consequences.

    Scripture: Judges 1:16–20 (NLT)
