    OLD TESTAMENT
    JUDGES 18 — The Danites and Micah's Idol
    NEW TESTAMENT
    2 PETER 2 — Warning Against False Teachers
    MAJOR PROPHETS
    ISAIAH 28 — The Cornerstone of Zion
    Today's Reflection
    Judges 18
    The Danites take Micah's idols and establish their own form of worship. The chapter shows the danger of spiritual compromise and reminds us that God's people must not replace His truth with what simply seems right in their own eyes.
    2 Peter 2
    Peter gives a strong warning about false teachers who distort the truth and lead others into sin. Believers are called to remain grounded in God's Word, recognize deception, and pursue holy living.
    Isaiah 28
    Isaiah confronts the pride and false security of Israel's leaders, but also points to God's sure foundation: the precious cornerstone laid by God in Zion. Our confidence should rest on God's truth rather than human wisdom or temporary security.
    KEY VERSE
    "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation."
    — Isaiah 28:16
    PRAYER
    Heavenly Father, establish our lives firmly upon Your truth. Give us discernment to recognize false teaching and the courage to reject anything that draws us away from You. Keep us humble, faithful, and rooted in Christ, our sure foundation. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
    WE STUDY. WE PRAY. WE OBEY. WE GROW. UNTIL WE ARE TOTALLY TRANSFORMED.
    TODAY'S CHALLENGE

  • Can we be active in church and still be ignoring what God is asking us to change?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/15/when-leadership-becomes-corrupt-the-warning-of-micah-39-12/

    Micah 3:9–12 gives us a sobering picture of leaders who had the right religious language but the wrong priorities.

    Rulers were influenced by bribes. Priests allowed money to shape their ministry. Prophets pursued personal gain. Yet they still confidently believed that because the Lord was among them, judgment could never come.

    They confused God’s presence with God’s approval.

    That warning still matters today.

    Church attendance, ministry involvement, biblical knowledge, giving, leadership positions, and years of Christian service are all valuable—but none of them can replace genuine obedience to God.

    Micah forces us to ask some difficult questions:

    Where has money, comfort, approval, or influence begun affecting our decisions?

    Are we willing to obey God when obedience becomes costly?

    Are we using religious activity as evidence that everything in our spiritual lives must be okay?

    And perhaps most importantly:

    What has God entrusted to me, and am I handling it faithfully?

  • Jesus Christ the only Savior!

    “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews the same came to Jesus by night, and said to Him, Rabbi we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that you do except God be with him. Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily I say to you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wildness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have ever lasting life. Therefore God sent His Son into the world not to condemn it but that and the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3: 1 – 17). “Uncircumcision of your heart has He quickened together with Him having forgiven you all trespasses blotting out the hand writing of ordinances that were against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross”(Colossians 2:13 and 14). Christ invites you with these words: “Come to me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give your rest” (Mathew 11:28). It ought to be great comfort to you and me to hear of any pardon at all: but to hear Jesus Christ himself inviting us, to see God holding out His hand to us - the Savior and Redeemer of mankind seeking the sinner before the sinners seeks the Savior; this is a great encouragement and a strong consolation indeed.

    Know that Christ is good and ready to forgive (Psalms 86:5). He delights in mercy (Micah 7:18). Justice and righteousness are the foundation of his throne (Psalm 89:14). He is not willing that any man perish (2 Peter 3:9). He would fain have all men saved and come to the knowledge of truth (Timothy 2:4). He wept over unbelieving Jerusalem. “As I live,” He says, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Turn, turn you from your evil ways; why will you die?” (Ezekiel 33:11). God has loved us with everlasting love. He has done his part in great compassion, and it is for man to take initiative. Know that if you are to die and be condemned for all eternity, it is simply because you loved not the truth an so be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

  • GOD'S MERCY TO NINEVEH
    JONAH 1:2 NKJ2 "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me." Remembering what happened with Nineveh will give you a clearer picture of God's mercy. God told Jonah that Nineveh would be destroyed. But when the people of Nineveh changed and repented before God, things changed
    .JONAH 3:3-10 NKJ 3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.4 And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day's walk. Then he cried out and said, "Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!" 5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.6 Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth and sat in ashes.7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. 8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let every one turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands.9 Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? 10 Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.
    The people of Nineveh were very wicked, but when they heard God's Word of judgment they humbled themselves and turned toward God. Because of their response, God changed His judgment and their lives were spared. When people repent and turn toward God -- no matter how evil they have been -- God shows mercy.
    God is still the same. He delights in mercy.
    MICAH 7:18 NKJ18 Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.
    SAY THIS: My God delights in mercy!
    God bless you!

  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS.

    SERMON TOPIC:

    BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP FOR A BROKEN WORLD

    Leading with Character, Courage, Compassion and Christ

    Key Texts:

    Matthew 5:13–16; Mark 10:42–45; Nehemiah 2:17–18; 1 Timothy 4:12; Micah 6:8

    THE WORLD DOES NOT JUST NEED MORE LEADERS

    We are living in a broken world.
    Families are broken.
    Trust is broken.
    Institutions are struggling.
    Young people are searching for direction.
    Many people have influence but lack character.
    Some have position but no compassion.
    Others have power but no wisdom.
    And here is the question:
    Who will stand in the gap?
    The answer is not necessarily people with titles.
    God is looking for men and women whose lives can become examples, whose character can become a message, and whose leadership can bring light into dark places.
    Biblical leadership is not about sitting at the top and commanding everybody beneath you.
    Biblical leadership is about serving people under the authority of God.
    Jesus did not define greatness by how many people served you.
    He said:
    > “Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister.” — Matthew 20:26
    The world says, “Climb to the top.”
    Jesus says, “Go down and serve.”
    The world says, “Protect your position.”

    Jesus says, “Use your position to bless others.”
    1. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP BEGINS WITH CHARACTER
    1 Timothy 4:12
    > “Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
    Before God gives a person a platform, He develops the person.
    Position can introduce you, but character sustains you.
    A leader may have:
    Intelligence without integrity.
    Influence without wisdom.
    Authority without humility.
    Education without godliness.
    Money without compassion.
    But leadership without character eventually becomes dangerous.
    Joseph is an example.
    Joseph was given authority in Egypt, but his greatest qualification was not merely administrative ability.
    He had character.
    When temptation came through Potiphar's wife, Joseph said:
    > “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” — Genesis 39:9
    Joseph understood something important:
    A leader must know who he is when nobody is watching.
    Your public leadership should be an extension of your private walk with God.
    Spiritual insight:
    God is more interested in the person you are becoming than the position you are occupying.
    2. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP IS SERVANT LEADERSHIP
    Mark 10:43–45
    Jesus said:
    > “Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister.”
    Then He gave Himself as the ultimate example:
    > “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.”

    Jesus had all authority, yet He served.
    He washed feet.
    He touched the rejected.
    He fed the hungry.
    He welcomed children.
    He listened to people.
    He carried the burden of humanity to the cross.
    True leadership asks:
    “How can I help?”
    Not:
    “What can I gain?”
    A father leads by serving his family.
    A mother leads by serving her home.
    A pastor leads by serving the flock.
    A teacher leads by developing students.
    A young Christian can lead by being a godly example among friends.
    You do not need a title before you can become a leader.
    Influence begins wherever responsibility begins.
    3. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP REQUIRES COURAGE TO REBUILD WHAT IS BROKEN
    Nehemiah 2:17–18
    Nehemiah saw the broken walls of Jerusalem and said:
    > “Come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem.”
    He did not merely complain about the problem.
    He became part of the solution.
    That is leadership.
    Anybody can identify what is wrong.
    A leader asks:
    “What can I do to make it better?”
    Nehemiah saw destruction, but he also saw possibility.
    He saw broken walls, but he believed they could be rebuilt.
    He saw discouragement, but he mobilized people.
    We need Nehemiahs today.
    People who will say:
    “I will help restore my family.”
    “I will mentor a young person.”
    “I will speak truth with love.”
    “I will serve my church faithfully.”
    “I will use my gifts to bless society.”
    “I will not contribute to the corruption I complain about.”
    “I will rebuild instead of destroy.”
    God does not call leaders merely to criticize brokenness. He calls them to participate in restoration.

    4. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP SPEAKS TRUTH BUT WALKS IN LOVE
    Micah 6:8
    > “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good... to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.”

    A biblical leader must balance truth, justice, mercy and humility.
    Truth without love can become cruelty.
    Love without truth can become compromise.
    Justice without mercy can become oppression
    Mercy without justice can become irresponsibility.
    But biblical leadership brings these qualities together under God's authority.
    Jesus was full of grace and truth.
    In a broken world, leaders must refuse two extremes:
    Compromise:
    “I don't want to offend anybody, so I will say nothing.”
    Harshness:
    “I will tell the truth, but I don't care who gets hurt.”
    Biblical leadership says:
    “I will speak the truth, but I will speak it in love.”
    5. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPS OTHER LEADERS
    One of the greatest failures of leadership is building a system where everything depends on one person.
    Moses learned this lesson.
    Exodus 18:17–23
    Jethro told Moses:
    > “The thing that thou doest is not good.”

    Moses was trying to handle everything himself.
    Jethro instructed him to appoint capable people to share the responsibility.
    A great leader does not create followers who cannot function without him.
    A great leader develops people who can continue the mission after him.
    Jesus invested in twelve disciples.
    Paul invested in Timothy.
    Elijah invested in Elisha.
    Moses invested in Joshua.
    Ask yourself:
    Who am I preparing to succeed me?
    If your ministry, business, family responsibility or assignment will collapse the moment you leave, then you may have built dependence rather than leadership.

    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:

    NEHEMIAH — A LEADER FOR A BROKEN GENERATION
    Nehemiah received terrible news.
    Jerusalem was broken.
    The walls were destroyed.
    The people were discouraged.

    But Nehemiah did four things.
    1. HE CARED
    He did not become comfortable with the suffering of others.
    2. HE PRAYED
    Before he acted, he sought God.
    3. HE PLANNED
    He did not rush emotionally into the assignment.
    4. HE ACTED
    Eventually he said:
    > “Let us rise up and build.” — Nehemiah 2:18

    That is biblical leadership:
    Compassion + Prayer + Wisdom + Action.

    REAL-LIFE APPLICATION: OUR BROKEN WORLD NEEDS WHOLE LEADERS

    Look around us.
    Young people need mentors.
    Families need godly fathers and mothers.
    Churches need faithful servants.
    Communities need honest leaders.
    Schools need teachers who care.
    Businesses need people of integrity.
    Governments need people who understand that leadership is stewardship.
    And the Church needs believers who understand that Christianity is not merely about attending services.
    We are called to become light.
    Jesus said:
    > “Ye are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:14
    Light does not argue with darkness.
    Light enters darkness and changes the environment.

    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS

    1. Lead yourself before trying to lead others.
    Control your words.
    Control your habits.
    Control your emotions.
    Strengthen your prayer life.
    Study God's Word.
    2. Become trustworthy.
    Do what you said you would do.
    Keep your word.
    Be honest when nobody is watching.
    3. Serve someone intentionally every week.
    Find someone you can encourage, teach, support or mentor.
    4. Stop complaining about everything that is wrong.
    Identify one problem you can help solve.
    Don't just point at the broken wall. Pick up a brick.
    5. Develop someone younger than you.
    Share knowledge.
    Give opportunities.
    Correct with love.
    Encourage growth.
    6. Keep Christ at the center of your leadership.
    Never allow ambition to become your god.
    Your leadership belongs to God.

    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS

    1. Leadership is stewardship, not ownership.
    Your influence belongs to God.
    Your position belongs to God.
    Your gifts belong to God.
    One day, you will give an account of how you used them.
    2. Your character is your first ministry.
    Before you preach to people, your life is already preaching.
    People may forget your sermon.
    They may forget your title.
    But they will remember how you treated them.
    3. Broken environments need whole people.
    You cannot heal everything around you, but you can refuse to become part of the brokenness.
    Don't allow a corrupt environment to corrupt your character.
    4. Leadership is influence before it is position.
    You may not be the pastor.
    You may not be the chairman.
    You may not be the director.
    You may not have a political position.
    But if people are watching your life, you have influence.
    Use it for God.

    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

    1. What kind of leader am I becoming?
    2. Can people trust my character?
    3. Do I lead by serving or by controlling?
    4. What broken thing around me am I called to help rebuild?
    5. Who am I mentoring?
    6. What would people say about my leadership when I am not present?
    7. If Jesus examined my leadership today, would He find humility?
    8. Am I building people or merely building my reputation?

    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS

    1.
    Father, make me a leader of character. Let my private life agree with my public testimony, in Jesus' name.
    2.
    Lord, deliver me from pride, selfish ambition and the desire for human applause. Give me the heart of a servant.
    3.
    Father, give me wisdom to lead my family, ministry, workplace and community according to Your will.
    4.
    Lord, make me an instrument of restoration wherever there is brokenness around me.
    5.
    Father, give me courage to speak truth, defend what is right and stand for righteousness without hatred or compromise.
    6.
    Lord, help me discover and develop the people You have placed around me.
    7.
    Father, raise godly leaders among our young people who will carry truth, integrity and faith into the next generation.
    8.
    Lord, let my life become a light in a dark world and a blessing to my generation.

    CLOSING FACTS:

    WHO WILL STAND IN THE GAP?
    The world is broken.
    But God has not abandoned it.
    He has placed His people in it.
    You may look at your community and say, “Someone should do something.”

    Perhaps God is saying:
    “You are someone.”
    You may look at the Church and say, “We need better leaders.”
    Perhaps God is saying:
    “I am preparing you.”
    You may look at your family and see brokenness.
    Start rebuilding.
    You may see a young person without direction.
    Become a mentor.
    You may see injustice.
    Stand for truth.
    You may see discouragement.
    Speak hope.
    You may see darkness.
    Shine.
    Don't wait for a title.
    Don't wait for a microphone.
    Don't wait for an election.
    Don't wait for someone to recognize you.
    Start serving where God has placed you.
    Because biblical leadership is not about how many people are beneath you.
    It is about how many people become better because you followed Christ.
    And when history looks back at our generation, may it not say:
    “They saw a broken world and complained.”
    May it say:
    “They saw a broken world, trusted God, stood in the gap, served their generation, and helped rebuild.”
    Arise. Lead. Serve. Build. Shine.
    Be the leader your generation needs—and let Christ be the Lord of your leadership.
    “Let us rise up and build.” — Nehemiah 2:18

    TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS. SERMON TOPIC: BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP FOR A BROKEN WORLD Leading with Character, Courage, Compassion and Christ Key Texts: Matthew 5:13–16; Mark 10:42–45; Nehemiah 2:17–18; 1 Timothy 4:12; Micah 6:8 THE WORLD DOES NOT JUST NEED MORE LEADERS We are living in a broken world. Families are broken. Trust is broken. Institutions are struggling. Young people are searching for direction. Many people have influence but lack character. Some have position but no compassion. Others have power but no wisdom. And here is the question: Who will stand in the gap? The answer is not necessarily people with titles. God is looking for men and women whose lives can become examples, whose character can become a message, and whose leadership can bring light into dark places. Biblical leadership is not about sitting at the top and commanding everybody beneath you. Biblical leadership is about serving people under the authority of God. Jesus did not define greatness by how many people served you. He said: > “Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister.” — Matthew 20:26 The world says, “Climb to the top.” Jesus says, “Go down and serve.” The world says, “Protect your position.” Jesus says, “Use your position to bless others.” 1. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP BEGINS WITH CHARACTER 1 Timothy 4:12 > “Be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” Before God gives a person a platform, He develops the person. Position can introduce you, but character sustains you. A leader may have: Intelligence without integrity. Influence without wisdom. Authority without humility. Education without godliness. Money without compassion. But leadership without character eventually becomes dangerous. Joseph is an example. Joseph was given authority in Egypt, but his greatest qualification was not merely administrative ability. He had character. When temptation came through Potiphar's wife, Joseph said: > “How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” — Genesis 39:9 Joseph understood something important: A leader must know who he is when nobody is watching. Your public leadership should be an extension of your private walk with God. Spiritual insight: God is more interested in the person you are becoming than the position you are occupying. 2. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP IS SERVANT LEADERSHIP Mark 10:43–45 Jesus said: > “Whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister.” Then He gave Himself as the ultimate example: > “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.” Jesus had all authority, yet He served. He washed feet. He touched the rejected. He fed the hungry. He welcomed children. He listened to people. He carried the burden of humanity to the cross. True leadership asks: “How can I help?” Not: “What can I gain?” A father leads by serving his family. A mother leads by serving her home. A pastor leads by serving the flock. A teacher leads by developing students. A young Christian can lead by being a godly example among friends. You do not need a title before you can become a leader. Influence begins wherever responsibility begins. 3. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP REQUIRES COURAGE TO REBUILD WHAT IS BROKEN Nehemiah 2:17–18 Nehemiah saw the broken walls of Jerusalem and said: > “Come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem.” He did not merely complain about the problem. He became part of the solution. That is leadership. Anybody can identify what is wrong. A leader asks: “What can I do to make it better?” Nehemiah saw destruction, but he also saw possibility. He saw broken walls, but he believed they could be rebuilt. He saw discouragement, but he mobilized people. We need Nehemiahs today. People who will say: “I will help restore my family.” “I will mentor a young person.” “I will speak truth with love.” “I will serve my church faithfully.” “I will use my gifts to bless society.” “I will not contribute to the corruption I complain about.” “I will rebuild instead of destroy.” God does not call leaders merely to criticize brokenness. He calls them to participate in restoration. 4. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP SPEAKS TRUTH BUT WALKS IN LOVE Micah 6:8 > “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good... to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” A biblical leader must balance truth, justice, mercy and humility. Truth without love can become cruelty. Love without truth can become compromise. Justice without mercy can become oppression Mercy without justice can become irresponsibility. But biblical leadership brings these qualities together under God's authority. Jesus was full of grace and truth. In a broken world, leaders must refuse two extremes: Compromise: “I don't want to offend anybody, so I will say nothing.” Harshness: “I will tell the truth, but I don't care who gets hurt.” Biblical leadership says: “I will speak the truth, but I will speak it in love.” 5. BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPS OTHER LEADERS One of the greatest failures of leadership is building a system where everything depends on one person. Moses learned this lesson. Exodus 18:17–23 Jethro told Moses: > “The thing that thou doest is not good.” Moses was trying to handle everything himself. Ask yourself: Who am I preparing to succeed me? If your ministry, business, family responsibility or assignment will collapse the moment you leave, then you may have built dependence rather than leadership. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: NEHEMIAH — A LEADER FOR A BROKEN GENERATION Nehemiah received terrible news. Jerusalem was broken. The walls were destroyed. The people were discouraged. But Nehemiah did four things. 1. HE CARED He did not become comfortable with the suffering of others. 2. HE PRAYED Before he acted, he sought God. 3. HE PLANNED He did not rush emotionally into the assignment. 4. HE ACTED Eventually he said: > “Let us rise up and build.” — Nehemiah 2:18 That is biblical leadership: Compassion + Prayer + Wisdom + Action. 🌍 REAL-LIFE APPLICATION: OUR BROKEN WORLD NEEDS WHOLE LEADERS Look around us. Jesus said: > “Ye are the light of the world.” — Matthew 5:14 Light does not argue with darkness. Light enters darkness and changes the environment. 🛠️ PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. 🔥 DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. 🤔 QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. 🙏 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. 7. • What happens when spiritual leadership becomes more concerned with personal benefit than biblical truth?

    https://patrickryanlewis.com/2026/08/08/when-spiritual-leadership-becomes-corrupt-micah-3/

    In Micah 3:5–8, God confronts false prophets whose message changed depending on what people gave them. When they benefited, they proclaimed peace. When they didn't, their message changed.

    Their ministry had become transactional.

    And that raises some important questions for us today:

    What warning signs reveal that a spiritual leader is becoming more concerned with personal benefit than biblical truth?

    Why is it dangerous when a teacher's message changes according to what people want to hear?

    What does biblical courage actually look like?

    How can we speak difficult truth with both courage and humility?

    Micah gives us a striking contrast between corrupted spiritual influence and faithful spiritual leadership.

    Power without justice can become abuse.
Courage without truth can become arrogance.
Truth without love can become cruelty.

    Faithful leadership isn't about protecting our influence. It's about faithfully stewarding whatever influence God has entrusted to us.

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 2O26.
    "WHERE’S YOUR FINANCIAL SECURITY?"

    ‘…riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generation Proverbs 27:24 NIV

    ONE LARGE insurance company advertises itself as ‘the Rock,’ claiming to be the foundation of your financial security. Remember when we trusted these strap lines? Not anymore; it’s not the same world. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Turn to the only reliable source of security: God! There’s no financial crisis in His kingdom! Israel hungered and thirsted and He sent them fresh manna, and water from the rock. He assigned ravens to feed Elijah, multiplied oil and flour to sustain a destitute widow’s family, fed thousands from a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish. And He asks us: ‘…is anything too difficult for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NAS). No! So: 1) Trust God to provide for you. 2) Do what He tells you to do. 3) Believe that God ‘will.’ ‘The lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. You will have plenty…to feed you and your family…’ (Proverbs 27:26-27 NIV).

    *AND THE LEADERS ALSO?*

    *TEXT:* MICAH 3:1-12.

    1And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
    2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
    3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
    4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
    5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
    6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
    7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
    8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
    9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
    10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
    11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
    12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of your paths"_ (Isaiah 3:12).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Leadership has a vital role in the social, family and spiritual well being of a society that cannot be substituted with any other institution. Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. This was what they said when people wanted to put Jeremiah to death about 100 years later: *"Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him (Micah) at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls"* (Jeremiah 26:18-19). Preachers and saints should preach and proclaim the Word of God with hope, faith, love and optimism.

    *1. The Evil-Loving Princes*

    a. The princes and judges were expected to enforce the truth in the land. So they were expected to know the truth in the first place. *"O heads of Jacob. Is it not for you to know judgment?"*. But what happened in reality, they hated the good and loved evil? Can you imagine how they would reign? *"Who hate the good, and love the evil"*. Such was the terrible state of Israel and Judah. They became oppressors and predators who made life unbearable for the sheep. *"Who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones"*. They exploited the innocent and the poor. Those who do evil and are able to bribe their ways are justified while the innocent and the poor are cheated and oppressed as guilty. While they may profess and pretend that they love good and are enforcing justice, their secret heart and actions do the opposite. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable.
    b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Their end will always be full of regrets, with their families, except there is total and full repentance. On the day of their calamities, *"they shall cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings"*. What a great disgrace in spite of the glowing the gowns of the godly and the great when God is not with them and neither hear their prayers when they in turn are oppressed by the oppressors that are greater than them. The oppressors may be stronger humans, demons, incurable sicknesses and diseases among others.

    *Question*

    Are you an oppressive leader or a just and true godly leader?

    *2. The Error Launching Prophets*

    a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ.
    b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*.

    *Question*

    Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing?

    *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers*

    a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception.
    b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. Nothing but the truth is the hope of mankind today.

    *Question*

    Are you a non-compromising proclaimer of the truth of the Word of God?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Ask for forgiveness where you have failed God and promise to be another Micah for Christ.
    2.Pray that God will visit and restore all our compromised and backslidden children and ministers of God .
    3.Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to declare and expose sins to fill all our ministers of the Gospel afresh .
    4.Pray that our messages will bear the expected fruit of repentance and our leaders and rulers will love good and hate evil and be awakened to righteousness .

    *LEADERS OR RINGLEADERS* 🫵🏽🏽‍🏽‍🏽🏽‍🏽

    ```TEXT:MICAH 3:1-12```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us" (MICAH 3:11).*_

    *Captain John Hawkins Simpson once built a house on the Canford Cliffs, near Bournemouth, England. He chose a sight that was too close to the edge of the cliff. Concerned friends and neighbours warned him of the danger of siting the building there, considering that landslides frequently occurred along the coast, and the weight of the house would cause a disaster. Mr. Simpson ignored the warnings and went ahead to erect a beautiful building there. He enjoyed it for a while. Then came the inevitable catastrophe he was warned about. What remains of that house now is known as "Simpson's Folly" - a heap of ruins on the beach.*

    *In today's text, the obstinate attitude of the Jewish leaders - both the princes and the prophets - is similar to that of Simpson. Prophet Micah decried, in the strongest terms, the egregious sins of these leaders who had actually become ringleaders. The princes or governors of the people had become so callous, covetous and corrupt that they were compared to ravenous animals. They shunned divine counsel and sued for wickedness, and God resolved that He would ignore their prayers. The so-called prophets in the land had become exploitative, fleecing, yet flattering the people. They chose to walk in darkness, and God decided He would keep them in the dark, shutting them out of divine revelation and inspiration. This terrible scenario provoked a holy zeal in Prophet Micah, who, full of power by the spirit of the LORD, denounced the people's transgressions, in contrast to the flattering prophets.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23).*_
    The heart is an important organ of the body. It is like an engine room where life-giving blood is pumped to all parts of the body. When the heart is well taken care of and healthy, the body is well, but if the heart is unhealthy, the body will be sick.
    Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Doing this will help him to keep his heart healthy and avoid a heart attack. However, Mr. Larry refused to stop eating junk food and smoking cigarettes. He kept a very bad and unhealthy lifestyle.
    One evening, he was just back from work when he suddenly grabbed his chest in pain and collapsed. He was admitted to a hospital's Intensive Care Unit where he spent about six months. After he was discharged, he stopped all the bad habits. He had learnt his lesson in a hard way.
    If it is so with the physical heart, it is much more important to keep our spiritual heart healthy. Everyone has the spiritual heart, of which the Bible warns that we should watch over and keep it with all diligence. Why? Because out of it comes every thought, decision, desire and purpose of life, whether good or bad.
    *You must therefore watch over your heart. Never allow bad and filthy thoughts and actions. Surrender your heart to Jesus for thorough cleansing with His precious blood. Daily read and meditate on God's word to keep your heart sound and healthy.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ⏤ 1 John 1:7
    He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ⏤ William Law
    The day is Yours, O God, as is the night. We have come out of the night, where we were with You, for darkness and light are both alike to You. Now we enter a new day, and You are here with us in the light. We want to spend this day with You, just as we spent the night. Light has its dangers, just as darkness does. Evil can appear even in the brightness of day. Temptation comes in our busy hours. Sin is always around us and within us. We need You in the day as much as in the night. Keep our feet from stumbling. Let no sin have control over us. Keep us from presumptuous sins.
    May we truly live as children of the light. May we be clothed in Your righteousness. Let us stand before You dressed in the garments Jesus Christ has provided—the garments of redemption and salvation. And as we stand before the world, may we be robed in the righteousness that Your grace provides. Help us to put off the old, sinful nature. Let us put on the new self, created in righteousness and true holiness. May we embrace whatever is pure, true, and lovely. Let our light shine so brightly that others see our good works and glorify You, our Father in Heaven.
    We ask for the fullness of Your Holy Spirit. Only when You live in us can we be clothed in the garments of light. May we be glorious within, renewed by Your Spirit; then may our outward lives reflect the beauty of Your holiness. Breathe upon us this morning and fill us with Your Spirit as we go forth. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 2O26. "WHERE’S YOUR FINANCIAL SECURITY?" ‘…riches do not endure forever, and a crown is not secure for all generation Proverbs 27:24 NIV ONE LARGE insurance company advertises itself as ‘the Rock,’ claiming to be the foundation of your financial security. Remember when we trusted these strap lines? Not anymore; it’s not the same world. Financial uncertainty characterises today’s world of failing banks, crumbling investment giants, shrinking multinational corporations, swelling queues of the under-employed and unemployed, plus an epidemic of fear plaguing the hearts of the currently-employed. For the young, the joy of graduation has become the stress of university debts and a shrinking job market. Many older people are trading in their retirement dreams for a new twenty-first century reality: ‘work till you drop.’ In such times, where can we turn? To politicians? To government? To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Turn to the only reliable source of security: God! There’s no financial crisis in His kingdom! Israel hungered and thirsted and He sent them fresh manna, and water from the rock. He assigned ravens to feed Elijah, multiplied oil and flour to sustain a destitute widow’s family, fed thousands from a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish. And He asks us: ‘…is anything too difficult for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NAS). No! So: 1) Trust God to provide for you. 2) Do what He tells you to do. 3) Believe that God ‘will.’ ‘The lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. You will have plenty…to feed you and your family…’ (Proverbs 27:26-27 NIV). Bible In A Year: Ruth: 1-4; Matt 15: 15- 28; Ps 119: 41-48; Pro 17:17. [07/08, 10:13 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* SATURDAY, 8TH AUGUST, 2026. *AND THE LEADERS ALSO?* *TEXT:* MICAH 3:1-12. 1And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment? 2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones; 3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron. 4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings. 5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him. 6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them. 7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God. 8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin. 9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. 10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity. 11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us. 12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest. *Timeless Truth:*_"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of your paths"_ (Isaiah 3:12). *INTRODUCTION* Leadership has a vital role in the social, family and spiritual well being of a society that cannot be substituted with any other institution. Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. This was what they said when people wanted to put Jeremiah to death about 100 years later: *"Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him (Micah) at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls"* (Jeremiah 26:18-19). Preachers and saints should preach and proclaim the Word of God with hope, faith, love and optimism. *1. The Evil-Loving Princes* a. The princes and judges were expected to enforce the truth in the land. So they were expected to know the truth in the first place. *"O heads of Jacob. Is it not for you to know judgment?"*. But what happened in reality, they hated the good and loved evil? Can you imagine how they would reign? *"Who hate the good, and love the evil"*. Such was the terrible state of Israel and Judah. They became oppressors and predators who made life unbearable for the sheep. *"Who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones"*. They exploited the innocent and the poor. Those who do evil and are able to bribe their ways are justified while the innocent and the poor are cheated and oppressed as guilty. While they may profess and pretend that they love good and are enforcing justice, their secret heart and actions do the opposite. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable. b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Their end will always be full of regrets, with their families, except there is total and full repentance. On the day of their calamities, *"they shall cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings"*. What a great disgrace in spite of the glowing the gowns of the godly and the great when God is not with them and neither hear their prayers when they in turn are oppressed by the oppressors that are greater than them. The oppressors may be stronger humans, demons, incurable sicknesses and diseases among others. *Question* Are you an oppressive leader or a just and true godly leader? *2. The Error Launching Prophets* a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ. b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*. *Question* Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing? *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers* a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception. b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. Nothing but the truth is the hope of mankind today. *Question* Are you a non-compromising proclaimer of the truth of the Word of God? *Prayer Points* 1.Ask for forgiveness where you have failed God and promise to be another Micah for Christ🙏. 2.Pray that God will visit and restore all our compromised and backslidden children and ministers of God 🙏. 3.Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to declare and expose sins to fill all our ministers of the Gospel afresh 🙏. 4.Pray that our messages will bear the expected fruit of repentance and our leaders and rulers will love good and hate evil and be awakened to righteousness 🙏. *HYMN:* Is your life a channel of Blessing? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 18-20. He chose a sight that was too close to the edge of the cliff. Concerned friends and neighbours warned him of the danger of siting the building there, considering that landslides frequently occurred along the coast, and the weight of the house would cause a disaster. Mr. Simpson ignored the warnings and went ahead to erect a beautiful building there. He enjoyed it for a while. Then came the inevitable catastrophe he was warned about. What remains of that house now is known as "Simpson's Folly" - a heap of ruins on the beach.* *In today's text, the obstinate attitude of the Jewish leaders - both the princes and the prophets - is similar to that of Simpson. Prophet Micah decried, in the strongest terms, the egregious sins of these leaders who had actually become ringleaders. The princes or governors of the people had become so callous, covetous and corrupt that they were compared to ravenous animals. They shunned divine counsel and sued for wickedness, and God resolved that He would ignore their prayers. The so-called prophets in the land had become exploitative, fleecing, yet flattering the people. They chose to walk in darkness, and God decided He would keep them in the dark, shutting them out of divine revelation and inspiration. This terrible scenario provoked a holy zeal in Prophet Micah, who, full of power by the spirit of the LORD, denounced the people's transgressions, in contrast to the flattering prophets.* *The impunity of the ringleaders of Micah's day is not different from the prevailing disturbing carriage of today's greedy leaders and desperately materialistic and flattering so-called gospel ministers. To the next get-rich-quick guru? The Bible says, ‘...riches do not endure forever, and a crown [human government] is not secure for all generations.’ (Proverbs 27:24 NIV) What’s the answer? Turn to the only reliable source of security: God! There’s no financial crisis in His kingdom! Israel hungered and thirsted and He sent them fresh manna, and water from the rock. He assigned ravens to feed Elijah, multiplied oil and flour to sustain a destitute widow’s family, fed thousands from a boy’s lunch of five loaves and two fish. And He asks us: ‘…is anything too difficult for Me?’ (Jeremiah 32:27 NAS). No! So: 1) Trust God to provide for you. 2) Do what He tells you to do. 3) Believe that God ‘will.’ ‘The lambs will provide you with clothing, and the goats with the price of a field. You will have plenty…to feed you and your family…’ (Proverbs 27:26-27 NIV).
    *AND THE LEADERS ALSO?*
    *TEXT:* MICAH 3:1-12.
    1And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel; Is it not for you to know judgment?
    2 Who hate the good, and love the evil; who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones;
    3 Who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them; and they break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.
    4 Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.
    5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.
    6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.
    7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
    8 But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin.
    9 Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.
    10 They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
    11 The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.
    12 Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of the forest.
    *Timeless Truth:*_"As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of your paths"_ (Isaiah 3:12).
    *INTRODUCTION*
    Leadership has a vital role in the social, family and spiritual well being of a society that cannot be substituted with any other institution. Divine messages, no matter how powerful and impactful, will have its impact short-lived when there is a weak leadership in place. Speaking the truth wisely, humbly and lovingly to power is part of the responsibilities of saints and true ministers of the Gospel. The text records the prophet Micah's fierce condemnation of the corrupt leaders, judges, priests and false prophets of Israel and Judah, culminating in the prophecy that Jerusalem and the Temple mount would be completely destroyed and plowed like a field. Unlike the case of many prophets, the people at the time of Hezekiah listened to Micah and this caused a revival as a result of the godly leadership of Hezekiah. 100 years later, the people still remembered the revival effect of his speaking to power. It is not all the time leaders will be rebellious against the Word of God. This was what they said when people wanted to put Jeremiah to death about 100 years later: *"Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him (Micah) at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls"* (Jeremiah 26:18-19). Preachers and saints should preach and proclaim the Word of God with hope, faith, love and optimism.
    *1. The Evil-Loving Princes*
    a. The princes and judges were expected to enforce the truth in the land. So they were expected to know the truth in the first place. *"O heads of Jacob. Is it not for you to know judgment?"*. But what happened in reality, they hated the good and loved evil? Can you imagine how they would reign? *"Who hate the good, and love the evil"*. Such was the terrible state of Israel and Judah. They became oppressors and predators who made life unbearable for the sheep. *"Who pluck off their skin from off them, and their flesh from off their bones"*. They exploited the innocent and the poor. Those who do evil and are able to bribe their ways are justified while the innocent and the poor are cheated and oppressed as guilty. While they may profess and pretend that they love good and are enforcing justice, their secret heart and actions do the opposite. As a result, the law for the poor is different, in operation, from the law for the rich and the great. They make life difficult and painful for the vulnerable.
    b. They are not going to escape divine judgments though it appears they live large and all is going on well with them and their families. Their end will always be full of regrets, with their families, except there is total and full repentance. On the day of their calamities, *"they shall cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings"*. What a great disgrace in spite of the glowing the gowns of the godly and the great when God is not with them and neither hear their prayers when they in turn are oppressed by the oppressors that are greater than them. The oppressors may be stronger humans, demons, incurable sicknesses and diseases among others.
    *Question*
    Are you an oppressive leader or a just and true godly leader?
    *2. The Error Launching Prophets*
    a. The next set of leaders Micah prophesied to were religious leaders. *"Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace"*. These prophets never preach of judgment or hell fire. They feign to be more compassionate and loving than God that they are scared from preaching on the coming and certain judgment coming on the evil doers. They want people to be happy though they are doing evil. They specialize only in preaching love, comfort and things that make people happy. They don't want to offend or see the frown of the wicked. Are these religious leaders Christlike? Jesus Christ preached about hell fire more than any preacher in the Bible. He did not preach to condemn, but to warn the hearers to repent from their sins. So after preaching about Judgment, He showed them the way of escape. After preaching about the judgment to come, Micah, as a balanced prophet, used the Word of God to prophesy mercy, comfort and forgiveness to those who were sincerely repentant. *"But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort"*. Edification, exhortation and comfort are for the repentant who have decided to count the cost and burn the bridge behind them and follow Christ.
    b. There is also judgment for those backsliding prophets. They cannot escape. God strikes where it pains most. The prophets pride themselves in being close to God and receiving the visions of God. But God will ensure that they lose spiritual insight, spiritual authority and cease to have real visions of God from the altar. Their backslidings shall be visible to all those who are discerning. *"Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine"*. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*.
    *Question*
    Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing?
    *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers*
    a. Micah proved himself to be a true and uncompromising proclaimer of the truth. His effectiveness was clearly manifested through the revival that happened during the reign of Hezekiah when he ministered. Furthermore, his work was so enduring that 100 years later his ministry, his messages remained a reference point. What was the secret of a successful end-time proclaimer of the truth? *"But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of judgment, and of might, to declare unto Jacob his transgression, and to Israel his sin"*. He did not just have the power of the Holy Ghost, he was full of it. Man does not want his evil to be revealed. In most cases they hide under the curtain to do their evil. The person who will declare their sins and bring it to open needs uncommon boldness and courage. This cannot be overemphasized when people are deep and hardened in their sins with the tendency to do violence against the Word of God and against the proclaimers. Fullness of the Holy Spirit is the answer to courageous and fearless declaration of the sins and evils of the people. He condemned the injustice of the kings and princes: *"Princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity"*. The practices of their judges were also perverted and were condemnable. *"The heads thereof judge for reward"*. What of the religious leaders? They have commercialized their spiritual assignments. *"And the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money"*. They made their sins difficult to detect by camouflaging with ecclesiastical appearance to deceive that they were close to God and acceptable by God. *"They lean upon the LORD, and say, Is not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us"*. Their confessions of faith turned out to be self confidence and deception.
    b. Micah was clear about the judgment that would follow though it was not palatable: Zion and Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed. The truth from the godly proclaimer brought conviction of sin and produced repentance and revival under the reign of King Hezekiah. Nothing but the truth is the hope of mankind today.
    *Question*
    Are you a non-compromising proclaimer of the truth of the Word of God?
    *Prayer Points*
    1.Ask for forgiveness where you have failed God and promise to be another Micah for Christ.
    2.Pray that God will visit and restore all our compromised and backslidden children and ministers of God .
    3.Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to declare and expose sins to fill all our ministers of the Gospel afresh .
    4.Pray that our messages will bear the expected fruit of repentance and our leaders and rulers will love good and hate evil and be awakened to righteousness .
    *Captain John Hawkins Simpson once built a house on the Canford Cliffs, near Bournemouth, England. He chose a sight that was too close to the edge of the cliff. Concerned friends and neighbours warned him of the danger of siting the building there, considering that landslides frequently occurred along the coast, and the weight of the house would cause a disaster. Mr. Simpson ignored the warnings and went ahead to erect a beautiful building there. He enjoyed it for a while. Then came the inevitable catastrophe he was warned about. What remains of that house now is known as "Simpson's Folly" - a heap of ruins on the beach.*
    *In today's text, the obstinate attitude of the Jewish leaders - both the princes and the prophets - is similar to that of Simpson. Prophet Micah decried, in the strongest terms, the egregious sins of these leaders who had actually become ringleaders. The princes or governors of the people had become so callous, covetous and corrupt that they were compared to ravenous animals. They shunned divine counsel and sued for wickedness, and God resolved that He would ignore their prayers. The so-called prophets in the land had become exploitative, fleecing, yet flattering the people. They chose to walk in darkness, and God decided He would keep them in the dark, shutting them out of divine revelation and inspiration. This terrible scenario provoked a holy zeal in Prophet Micah, who, full of power by the spirit of the LORD, denounced the people's transgressions, in contrast to the flattering prophets.*
    *The impunity of the ringleaders of Micah's day is not different from the prevailing disturbing carriage of today's greedy leaders and desperately materialistic and flattering so-called gospel ministers. These self-styled "prophets" are leading multitudes of ignorant people away to perdition. However, like the case of the corrupt prophets and seers of Micah's time, they will not escape God's righteous judgment, their self-deluding confidence notwithstanding.*
    *As you reflect on this matter, it is only fitting for you to examine your position on it. Are you part of the ringleaders? Are you deceived because of your penchant for flatteries? Why not learn from "Simpson's Folly"? On the other hand, are you spirit-filled and bold, like Micah, to declare the truth? Do you have ears for the sound word of God?*
    ```Key Verse:``` _*"Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life" (Proverbs 4:23).*_

    The heart is an important organ of the body. It is like an engine room where life-giving blood is pumped to all parts of the body. When the heart is well taken care of and healthy, the body is well, but if the heart is unhealthy, the body will be sick.

    Mr. Larry Biggie was warned severally by his family doctor to watch carefully over his heart's health by avoiding a bad lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits. Doing this will help him to keep his heart healthy and avoid a heart attack. However, Mr. Larry refused to stop eating junk food and smoking cigarettes. He kept a very bad and unhealthy lifestyle.

    One evening, he was just back from work when he suddenly grabbed his chest in pain and collapsed. He was admitted to a hospital's Intensive Care Unit where he spent about six months. After he was discharged, he stopped all the bad habits. He had learnt his lesson in a hard way.

    If it is so with the physical heart, it is much more important to keep our spiritual heart healthy. Everyone has the spiritual heart, of which the Bible warns that we should watch over and keep it with all diligence. Why? Because out of it comes every thought, decision, desire and purpose of life, whether good or bad.

    *You must therefore watch over your heart. Never allow bad and filthy thoughts and actions. Surrender your heart to Jesus for thorough cleansing with His precious blood. Daily read and meditate on God's word to keep your heart sound and healthy.*

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    MP.i. Morning Prayer

    But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ⏤ 1 John 1:7

    He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ⏤ William Law

    The day is Yours, O God, as is the night. We have come out of the night, where we were with You, for darkness and light are both alike to You. Now we enter a new day, and You are here with us in the light. We want to spend this day with You, just as we spent the night. Light has its dangers, just as darkness does. Evil can appear even in the brightness of day. Temptation comes in our busy hours. Sin is always around us and within us. We need You in the day as much as in the night. Keep our feet from stumbling. Let no sin have control over us. Keep us from presumptuous sins.

    May we truly live as children of the light. May we be clothed in Your righteousness. Let us stand before You dressed in the garments Jesus Christ has provided—the garments of redemption and salvation. And as we stand before the world, may we be robed in the righteousness that Your grace provides. Help us to put off the old, sinful nature. Let us put on the new self, created in righteousness and true holiness. May we embrace whatever is pure, true, and lovely. Let our light shine so brightly that others see our good works and glorify You, our Father in Heaven.

    We ask for the fullness of Your Holy Spirit. Only when You live in us can we be clothed in the garments of light. May we be glorious within, renewed by Your Spirit; then may our outward lives reflect the beauty of Your holiness. Breathe upon us this morning and fill us with Your Spirit as we go forth. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

    Good morning, brethren. 1. Morning devotion for today. MD.i. 😀🌹🎀🎁💝🌺 MORNING TEA THE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY AUGUST 8, 2O26. When there is loss of fresh spiritual power and vision coupled with spiritual dryness, what is the result? *"Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God"*. *Question* Are you still enjoying spiritual freshness, visions and anointing? *3. The End-time Living Proclaimers* a. *Question* Are you a non-compromising proclaimer of the truth of the Word of God? *Prayer Points* 1.Ask for forgiveness where you have failed God and promise to be another Micah for Christ🙏. 2.Pray that God will visit and restore all our compromised and backslidden children and ministers of God 🙏. 3.Ask for the power of the Holy Spirit to declare and expose sins to fill all our ministers of the Gospel afresh 🙏. 4.Pray that our messages will bear the expected fruit of repentance and our leaders and rulers will love good and hate evil and be awakened to righteousness 🙏. *HYMN:* Is your life a channel of Blessing? *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOHN 18-20. What remains of that house now is known as "Simpson's Folly" - a heap of ruins on the beach.* *In today's text, the obstinate attitude of the Jewish leaders - both the princes and the prophets - is similar to that of Simpson. This terrible scenario provoked a holy zeal in Prophet Micah, who, full of power by the spirit of the LORD, denounced the people's transgressions, in contrast to the flattering prophets.* *The impunity of the ringleaders of Micah's day is not different from the prevailing disturbing carriage of today's greedy leaders and desperately materialistic and flattering so-called gospel ministers. These self-styled "prophets" are leading multitudes of ignorant people away to perdition. However, like the case of the corrupt prophets and seers of Micah's time, they will not escape God's righteous judgment, their self-deluding confidence notwithstanding.* *As you reflect on this matter, it is only fitting for you to examine your position on it. Are you part of the ringleaders? Are you deceived because of your penchant for flatteries? Why not learn from "Simpson's Folly"? On the other hand, are you spirit-filled and bold, like Micah, to declare the truth? Daily read and meditate on God's word to keep your heart sound and healthy.* 🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥🍥 ```🅿️rayer:``` _*Dear Lord, I bring my heart to you today, please cleanse it and make me clean.*_ 🙏🏽 ```📖 Further Reading:``` *Luke 6:45* Watch Over Your Heart https://dailymanna.app// *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#SincereMilk8thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS]. 2. Morning Prayer for today. MP.i. Morning Prayer But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. ⏤ 1 John 1:7 He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ⏤ William Law The day is Yours, O God, as is the night. Amen. https://www.youdevotion.com/daily-prayer/miller/34/morning #taptapstudio #youdevotion.
