🕊️ DOMINION DAILY DEVOTION ~ DAY 232 DATE: 20TH AUGUST 2026 TOPIC: UNITY GIVES US VICTORY ANCHOR SCRIPTURE: GENESIS 11:6 (NKJV) “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.” Devotional message: Yesterday, we saw that when God's people dwell together in unity, the Lord commands His blessing upon them. Today, we discover another dimension of unity: unity strengthens the Church for spiritual warfare. An army cannot effectively defeat an enemy when its soldiers are fighting among themselves. A divided camp becomes vulnerable because its strength is scattered. In the same way, the Church cannot effectively confront the darkness around her while believers are constantly fighting one another. Throughout Scripture, we see occasions where God brought victory to Israel by causing confusion among their enemies, so that they turned against one another. The enemy's unity was broken, and their strength collapsed. This teaches us something important: division weakens a people, while unity strengthens them. We are soldiers in the army of Christ. Our ultimate enemy is not another believer, denomination, congregation, or minister. We are engaged in a spiritual battle against the kingdom of darkness. Paul reminds us:Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV) “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age...” Therefore, we must be careful not to spend the strength that God gave us to advance His Kingdom fighting one another. There is room for different denominations, congregations, ministries, expressions, and gifts within the body of Christ. Our differences should not become weapons against one another. Paul described the Church as one body with many members. The hand has a different function from the eye, yet both belong to the same body. Likewise, we may have different assignments, but we have one Lord, one faith, and one mission. Jesus prayed for His followers:John 17:21 (NKJV) “That they all may be one... that the world may believe that You sent Me.” Our unity is therefore not merely about making the Church comfortable; it is part of our witness to the world. The enemy understands the power of united believers. That is why he continually seeks to introduce jealousy, competition, offence, denominational superiority, suspicion, gossip, and unnecessary disputes among God's people. But when the Church speaks with one voice, serves with one heart, and advances under the government of Christ, her collective strength becomes far greater. Think about the early Church. They were devoted to fellowship, prayer, the Word, and one another. Their unity created an environment in which the Gospel spread with extraordinary power, and many were added to the Church. Child of God, do not fight your fellow soldier when there is a kingdom of darkness to confront. Do not allow denominational differences to make you forget that we belong to one body. Do not allow personal differences to destroy the larger assignment. Where correction is necessary, let it be done biblically and in love. Where differences arise, pursue peace without compromising truth. There is still darkness in our communities, families, nations, and institutions that needs the light of Christ. The Church has a responsibility to arise together and shine. A united Church carries a united strength. A divided Church dissipates its strength. Therefore, let us stand together, pray together, serve together, preach Christ together, and advance the Kingdom together. PRAYER Heavenly Father,Teach us to recognize that our true battle is not against one another but against the kingdom of darkness. 20-08-2026 Blessed to Be a Blessing 2 Corinthians 9:11 (AMP) “You will be enriched in every way so that you may be generous, and this generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” God blesses us not simply so that we can have more, but so that we can become a blessing to others. Everything we have—our time, talents, resources, opportunities, and even our words—can be used to reflect His goodness. This verse reminds us that God is able to enrich us “in every way.” His provision is not limited to finances. He can enrich your relationships, strengthen your faith, increase your wisdom, give you opportunities, and fill your heart with compassion. But notice the purpose: “so that you may be generous.” Generosity is a reflection of God's heart. When we give freely, without expecting something in return, we demonstrate that we trust God as our Provider. We don't have to cling tightly to what is in our hands because we know that what we need is safely in His hands. And there is something beautiful at the end of the verse: our generosity produces thanksgiving to God. When we bless someone, they may not only see our kindness—they may catch a glimpse of the God behind it. Perhaps God has placed someone in your path today who needs encouragement. Maybe someone needs practical help, a listening ear, forgiveness, or simply to be reminded that they are loved. You may feel that you don't have much to give. But God can use whatever you place in His hands. You don't have to be rich to be generous. You simply have to be willing. Prayer Father, thank You for every blessing You have placed in my life. Help me never to hold so tightly to what You have given me that I forget why You blessed me in the first place. Teach me to be generous with my time, my words, my resources, my love, and my gifts. Use my life to bless others and point them back to You. May everything I give produce thanksgiving and bring glory to Your name. Help me trust You as my Provider and live with an open hand and a grateful heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🙏❤️ Today’s Reminder God blesses me so that I can bless others. THE PILGRIMS GUIDE THURSDAY AUGUST 20, 2026 INVITATION TO DIVINE WISDOM A WORD FROM THE WORD: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault…" James 1:5 NIV. One of the greatest gifts God gives to His children is wisdom, that is, the privileged ability to see life from His perspective and make decisions that align with His will. Wisdom, from every sense responsibility, is more than knowledge or intelligence; it is in proper perspective, divine insight, spiritual understanding, and the capacity to choose rightly in every situation. Many frustrations in life come from decisions made without wisdom. Opportunities are missed, relationships break, time is wasted, and unnecessary battles arise. But when a person operates with God’s wisdom, confusion fades into insignificance and clarity takes its rightful place. The young King Solomon knew this, which was the reason he sought for wisdom above riches or power. His life demonstrated that when you get wisdom, everything else aligns. A peep into God’s wisdom shows the numerous benefits for His children who subscribe to it. It guards you from deception, and helps you to properly discern people and opportunities. It keeps you from repeating perennial mistakes, and directs you to the right path when there seem to be no clarity. God's wisdom plants you on the pedestal for long-term peace and successful endeavours. God is inviting you today to ask for His wisdom. He does not withhold it, but gives it liberally to as many as His children who ask. Seek wisdom and you will walk securely. Yesterday, I was accused of contempt for God, because I demonstrate contempt for his law. Like the Apostle Paul wrote, and I concur that, "we uphold the law," for the purpose in which the law was given. We use the law to show unbelievers their guilt and need for Jesus, but once the person has come to Faith in Christ for their salvation, the purpose of the law has been fulfilled for them in Jesus. Saved people no longer need the law. We are not led by the law. We are led by the Holy Spirit, the writer and giver of the law. Since we believers have the giver of the law in our hearts, what further need could we possibly have for the law? Trust that the Holy Spirit actually does what Jesus said he would do in the believer's life. Contempt for the Lord? The worst kind of contempt for the Lord is diminishing the power and sufficiency of the blood of his son, Jesus. Don't think that your obedience to the commandments given to Israel, just like the legalistic Pharisees back then, buys you brownie points with God. Without faith, the Bible says, it is impossible to please God. Here's the truth... we believers, those who have placed our faith in Christ alone for our salvation, we believe that our redemption, our sanctification, our justification and our continued right standing with God are all gifts by the grace of God through faith in Jesus as our only source and our only hope of that salvation and righteousness. Don't misplace your faith in the incorrect object of faith. Don't place your faith in yourself. That's putting your faith in your own obedience. It's in your own holiness. It's in your own performance. If that's what you think, repent of your unbelief! Place your faith in the correct object of faith. What is the correct object of faith? Christ and him crucified. 1 Corinthians 1:23-24 KJV "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; [24] But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God."
