• Genesis 15:6-8 NASB
    "Then he believed in the Lord; and He credited it to him as righteousness. [7] And He said to him, “I am the Lord who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans, to give you this land to possess it.” [8] But he said, “Lord God, how may I know that I will possess it?'”

    Look at that! Look and see how quickly belief can turn to doubt.

    Yes, Abraham believed. Yes, God gave him right standing, not because of his actions but simply because he believed God had told him the truth. The Apostle Paul made Abraham's righteousness through faith a significant point of the gospel message, and he was right in doing so. Belief is what Jesus told Nicodemus was necessary to inherit eternal life.

    Abraham believed God. God accounted Abraham's belief as enough reason to give right standing to Abraham. Yet, in the next line, we read that God said something else to Abraham right after Abraham was declared righteous. God told Abraham that he would possess the land he was in, and Abraham's response to this new promise? Doubt. "How will I know that I will possess it," he asked?

    Keep the faith! Doubts are normal and natural, but, when it comes to God's word, never believe your doubts or doubt your belief in Him.

  • Jesus Christ the only Savior!

    “There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews the same came to Jesus by night, and said to Him, Rabbi we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that you do except God be with him. Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily I say to you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wildness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up. That whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have ever lasting life. Therefore God sent His Son into the world not to condemn it but that and the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3: 1 – 17). “Uncircumcision of your heart has He quickened together with Him having forgiven you all trespasses blotting out the hand writing of ordinances that were against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross”(Colossians 2:13 and 14). Christ invites you with these words: “Come to me all you that labor and are heavy laden and I will give your rest” (Mathew 11:28). It ought to be great comfort to you and me to hear of any pardon at all: but to hear Jesus Christ himself inviting us, to see God holding out His hand to us - the Savior and Redeemer of mankind seeking the sinner before the sinners seeks the Savior; this is a great encouragement and a strong consolation indeed.

    Know that Christ is good and ready to forgive (Psalms 86:5). He delights in mercy (Micah 7:18). Justice and righteousness are the foundation of his throne (Psalm 89:14). He is not willing that any man perish (2 Peter 3:9). He would fain have all men saved and come to the knowledge of truth (Timothy 2:4). He wept over unbelieving Jerusalem. “As I live,” He says, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Turn, turn you from your evil ways; why will you die?” (Ezekiel 33:11). God has loved us with everlasting love. He has done his part in great compassion, and it is for man to take initiative. Know that if you are to die and be condemned for all eternity, it is simply because you loved not the truth an so be saved (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

  • Good morning, brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY
    WEDNESDAY AUGUST 12, 2O26.
    "WORKING IN THE KINGDOM (3)"

    ‘The father [or mother] of a righteous man has great joy...’ Proverbs 23:24 NIV.

    THE HARDEST work is sometimes the most overlooked work. A husband came home from work one day and the house was an absolute mess. Clothes were strewn all over the floor, washing up filled the sink, the kids were crying, the beds were unmade, the bathroom smelled badly and the TV set was blaring. When he asked his wife what was going on, she replied, ‘You know how you ask me every night what I did all day? Well, today I didn’t do it.’ If you’re a stay-at-home mum or dad, God considers your work to be important. It’s more important to the future than just about any other profession—because you’re determining the quality of the next generation. Martin Luther said, ‘What you do in your house is worth as much as if you did it up in heaven for our Lord.’ One day God will say, ‘Well done,’ to parents who cared for children—bathing them, feeding them, cleaning up after them—when they were tired and thought nobody was looking. Somebody is looking. Somebody is keeping track. It is worth it! You are the one who makes your work significant—not the other way round. When you discover the gifts God has given you and the passions He has placed within you, and put them to work in the service of values you deeply believe in—you are ‘working for God’ in the truest sense. So each day ask God to make your work go well. And try to identify the larger picture in your work that makes it a ‘calling.’

    *HEAVEN: THE PERMANENT RESIDENCE OF THE BELIEVERS*

    *TEXT:* JOHN 14:1-6.

    1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
    2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
    3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
    4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
    5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
    6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

    *Timeless Truth:*_"But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city"_ (Hebrews 11:16).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    Jim Reeves, in one of his classics, composed an all time beautiful and inspired song about heaven. "I have heard of a land;
    On a faraway strand
    'Tis a beautiful home of the soul;
    Built by Jesus on high
    There we never shall die
    'Tis the land where we never grow old.
    When our work here is done;
    And the life crown is won;
    And our troubles and trials are o'er;
    All our sorrow will end
    And our voices will blend
    With the loved ones who've gone on before".
    The children of Israel ate manna in the wilderness and not one of them fell sick for 40 years and neither did their cloth fade according to the Scriptures. The food of heaven and the environment of heaven will be such that the inhabitants will never grow old, but remain young, healthy and fresh throughout eternity. Every attempt by any mortal to describe heaven is like a blind man describing the colour of a beautiful house. It is easier to think and plan for what you see than what you don't see no matter how real. Hence, there is need for constant reminder, refocusing and reconsecration to make heaven, less our vision of the invisible and eternal things give way to the vision of visible temporary things. *"For truly, if they (the heroes of faith) had been mindful of that country (the world) from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned"* (Hebrews 11:15).

    *1. The Admonition on Faith*

    a. Man is consciously or unconsciously a slave to what he believes whether true or false. The person who does good or evil believes that it will pay him. The person who serves God or does otherwise believes that is the best thing to do, all things being equal. The only person who could experientially and authoritatively speak about heaven is the person who lived there for an innumerable number of years and had visited the earth. Jesus Christ challenged the faith of His disciples to fully and truly believe, not only in the reality of heaven, but what heaven offers. The thought of Jesus Christ leaving them for heaven was disturbing and troublesome. However, the thought of heaven is comforting above all troubles on earth. *"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me"*.
    b. Jesus Christ said He came from heaven. Moses claimed He saw God come from heaven on the mount of Sinai. At the mount of transfiguration, three apostles said they saw the glory of heaven on Jesus, Elijah and Moses. John the Apostle emphatically said *"I John saw heaven open"*. Revelation also said that as God alone created the universe without any assistance from the angels, God Himself created heaven. *"Whose Builder and the Maker is God"*. When there is faith in God and consequently in heaven, all earthly glory and sorrows fade into insignificance.

    *Question*

    Is heaven and its glory real to you? Are you focused on making it by all means?

    *2. The Assurance for the Faithful*

    There is a Revelation about heaven that no other prophet could give except an eye witness. There is an abundance of accommodation for all the saints of God. *"In my Father's house are many mansions"*. Jesus invoked His undeniable truthfulness and integrity to give us a solid assurance. *"If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you"*. Jesus is saying that there is no need to deceive His disciples. Part of the present preoccupation of Christ is building a beautiful and eternally durable unimproveable mansion for each of God's people.
    The cosmos is roughly 7 x10 to power 23 times larger than our planet, rendering Earth an invisible speck in the vast cosmic ocean. This is different from the part of the cosmos that humans'
    lenses cannot observe so far. John said *"there was no more seas"*. So the space for building mansions is inexhaustible by all the saints that ever lived.
    b. Every saint should therefore, be assured that there is an unfading and most beautiful accommodation ever, designed and built by God awaiting him for eternal dwelling. Which one is more real to you? Dream or what you see in the physical. As what you see on earth is more real than what is dreamt, much more, the life of heaven is incomparably more real than what is experienced on the planet earth. Everything in heaven is perfect that no man on earth and creature in heaven would be able to improve on it.

    *Question*

    Are you excited about heaven?

    *3. The Advent of the Forerunner*

    a. Jesus came from heaven and He is the firstborn from among the dead. He is the first to die, buried, resurrected and gone to heaven with a resurrected body. He also promised to come back to the earth with His resurrected glorified body. *"And if I go and prepare a place for you"*. Did He truly go as promised? Since He fulfilled the promise to go to heaven He will no doubt fulfill other promises attached. *"I will come again"*. He did not say He "may come again". He was very
    definite and certain. When He comes again for the Church, represented by the disciples He was speaking to, what will He do? *"And receive you unto myself"*. He did not say he would come and take them, but rather come and receive them. This is Rapture being referred to in which Jesus in the sky will receive the saints to heaven as a host comes out of his chamber to receive His special guest or visitors to his house. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). *"That where I am, there ye may be also"*.

    *Question*

    Are you always watchful to make sure you are ever ready?

    *4. The Answer to the Forgetful*

    You will be surprised at the kind of question the once doubting Thomas was asking. *"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"*. He was there when Nicodemus was lectured by Christ on how to get to heaven. He was there when Jesus preached the longest sermon on the Mount as to the qualification for heaven. He was there when Jesus said *"No man has seen God at all times"*. Preachers should not assume that their followers fully understand the spiritual things they are teaching. Spiritual truth must be repeatedly read and taught over and over until it turns to conviction. Jesus is the only true way to heaven.

    *Question*

    What makes someone qualified for heaven?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, I praise You for the best alternative to this earth You have provided for me. Help me never to miss it .
    2.Refocus my desire and affection on heaven and heavenly things afresh and help me that it will be my primary pursuit and vision .
    3.Keep me from being deceived and distracted from heavenly things by the glamour of this world .
    4.Search out Your people and remove all things in our lives that will make entering heaven impossible .

    ```TEXT:JOHN 14:1-6```
    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you" (JOHN 14:2).*_

    *D. L. Moody, the famous evangelist, once said before his death, "Someday you will read in the papers that D. L. Moody of East Northfield is dead. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment, I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal, a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body." Moody understood the truth that heaven is not a vague idea but a real, prepared place for those who belong to Christ. He had no fear of death because he knew that Jesus had already secured for him an eternal home.*

    *In today's text, Jesus gives the same assurance to His disciples: He has gone ahead to prepare a place for them, and He will return to take them there. He speaks words of comfort to His troubled disciples. He tells them not to be afraid because His Father's house is big enough to accommodate all those who are qualified, and that He is going to prepare the place for them. More than that, He promises to return and bring them to be with Him forever. When Thomas questions the way to this place, Jesus makes a life-changing declaration: "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).*

    *Heaven is not an accidental destination. It is a prepared place for prepared people. Jesus makes it clear that He is the only Way to this eternal home. Today, many believe that all roads lead to heaven, but Christ's words leave no room for confusion. Only those who accept Him and live for Him will enter the place He has prepared.*

    *This truth should give us confidence and peace as believers in Christ's return. Just as a traveller finds joy knowing a home awaits at the end of his journey, we too should endure life's trials knowing that heaven is real and waiting for us. However, this is also a call for readiness, as only those who are prepared in Christ will enter there. Heaven is not for the undecided or the uncommitted; it is for those who know and follow Christ. It is for those who have let go of the world, let in Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and live for Him consistently.*

    *Faith is the conduit between man and God. It is important in the life of a praying believer as the scripture confirms that without it, it is impossible to please God.*

    *"Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase," submitted Martin Luther King Jr. A prayer of faith means a prayer you offer believing in His promises firmly, even when you have not seen the physical manifestation of the promise yet.*

    *The centurion, a soldier, had a sick servant and met Jesus for the healing of the man. This man had faith in the prayer of our Lord to a point that he told Him not to bother following him to his house to pray for the sick.*

    *He believed when Jesus prays anywhere at any time, the sick will be healed, and distance is never a barrier to His miracles. His servant was healed according to his great faith.*

    ```Key Verse:``` _*"And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice" (1 Kings 11:9).*_
    It is not all things that glitters that is gold. God is loving, He has great plans for His children. However, no parent toils on a child who decides to disobey instructions. Solomon was a beloved child of God. He found favour with God because David his father obeyed God. Your Christian parents, pastors, teachers and elders are sent to correct you. Don't despise their correction.
    Though God is merciful, yet the salvation of your parents doesn't guarantee your protection from the wiles of the devil. Solomon allowed his great wisdom to control him. He forgot God and embraced popularity and riches. God was angry with him and punished him severely. God is not a respecter of persons. He punishes every sinner or backslider.
    *Avoid the danger ahead! Sin leads to heavy consequences. Such consequences could come in the form of sickness, failure in examination, oppression or death (physical and eternal). Return to God your Maker, He loves you. Don't allow your worldly wisdom, pride or riches of your parents to take you to hell. Let the blood of Jesus wash you now.*
    2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    [It is of] the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. [They are] new every morning: great [is] thy faithfulness. ⏤ Lamentations 3:22-23
    The Christian life is one of gratitude. A heart that is constantly overflowing with thankfulness is a heart close to God. ⏤ A.W. Tozer
    O God, giver of all good and fountain of all mercy, we thank You for Your grace and the many ways You show Your care for us. Your faithfulness never fails. Your mercies are new every morning, fresh every moment, more than we can count. What can we give You in return for all Your goodness to us? We have nothing to offer but the poor love of our hearts, and we give that to You. Grant us more and more the spirit of praise and thanksgiving. Teach us to sing even when tears choke our songs. Give us songs in the night. Teach us how to rejoice, even in care and sorrow.
    We thank You for our home and all it means to us. You have filled our lives with countless blessings through the love that unites us as a family. Our home is a little bit of Your love poured into our hearts. We thank You for the shelter our home provides and for the gentle affections that bind us together. May our home grow sweeter as the days pass. Make our home life more loving, patient, and kind. May our love be less selfish and more like the love of Jesus.
    We ask for special blessings for this day. We will face dangers we are unaware of; protect us from them. We are vulnerable to accidents wherever we go; defend us from them. Grant us the grace to walk through the moral challenges around us without being harmed by them. Give Your angels charge over us to keep us in all Your ways. Lead us wherever we go so that we may not stumble. Make us strong for holy service. Let Your protection be over us all day, and give us strength for every duty. We ask all this in Jesus' precious name. Amen.
The children of Israel ate manna in the wilderness and not one of them fell sick for 40 years and neither did their cloth fade according to the Scriptures. The food of heaven and the environment of heaven will be such that the inhabitants will never grow old, but remain young, healthy and fresh throughout eternity. Every attempt by any mortal to describe heaven is like a blind man describing the colour of a beautiful house. It is easier to think and plan for what you see than what you don't see no matter how real. Hence, there is need for constant reminder, refocusing and reconsecration to make heaven, less our vision of the invisible and eternal things give way to the vision of visible temporary things. *"For truly, if they (the heroes of faith) had been mindful of that country (the world) from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned"* (Hebrews 11:15). *1. The Admonition on Faith* a. Man is consciously or unconsciously a slave to what he believes whether true or false. The person who does good or evil believes that it will pay him. The person who serves God or does otherwise believes that is the best thing to do, all things being equal. The only person who could experientially and authoritatively speak about heaven is the person who lived there for an innumerable number of years and had visited the earth. Jesus Christ challenged the faith of His disciples to fully and truly believe, not only in the reality of heaven, but what heaven offers. The thought of Jesus Christ leaving them for heaven was disturbing and troublesome. However, the thought of heaven is comforting above all troubles on earth. *"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me"*. b. Jesus Christ said He came from heaven. Moses claimed He saw God come from heaven on the mount of Sinai. At the mount of transfiguration, three apostles said they saw the glory of heaven on Jesus, Elijah and Moses. John the Apostle emphatically said *"I John saw heaven open"*. Revelation also said that as God alone created the universe without any assistance from the angels, God Himself created heaven. *"Whose Builder and the Maker is God"*. When there is faith in God and consequently in heaven, all earthly glory and sorrows fade into insignificance. *Question* Is heaven and its glory real to you? Are you focused on making it by all means? *2. The Assurance for the Faithful* There is a Revelation about heaven that no other prophet could give except an eye witness. There is an abundance of accommodation for all the saints of God. *"In my Father's house are many mansions"*. Jesus invoked His undeniable truthfulness and integrity to give us a solid assurance. *"If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you"*. Jesus is saying that there is no need to deceive His disciples. Part of the present preoccupation of Christ is building a beautiful and eternally durable unimproveable mansion for each of God's people. The cosmos is roughly 7 x10 to power 23 times larger than our planet, rendering Earth an invisible speck in the vast cosmic ocean. This is different from the part of the cosmos that humans' lenses cannot observe so far. John said *"there was no more seas"*. So the space for building mansions is inexhaustible by all the saints that ever lived. b. Every saint should therefore, be assured that there is an unfading and most beautiful accommodation ever, designed and built by God awaiting him for eternal dwelling. Which one is more real to you? Dream or what you see in the physical. As what you see on earth is more real than what is dreamt, much more, the life of heaven is incomparably more real than what is experienced on the planet earth. Everything in heaven is perfect that no man on earth and creature in heaven would be able to improve on it. *Question* Are you excited about heaven? *3. The Advent of the Forerunner* a. Jesus came from heaven and He is the firstborn from among the dead. He is the first to die, buried, resurrected and gone to heaven with a resurrected body. He also promised to come back to the earth with His resurrected glorified body. *"And if I go and prepare a place for you"*. Did He truly go as promised? Since He fulfilled the promise to go to heaven He will no doubt fulfill other promises attached. *"I will come again"*. He did not say He "may come again". He was very definite and certain. When He comes again for the Church, represented by the disciples He was speaking to, what will He do? *"And receive you unto myself"*. He did not say he would come and take them, but rather come and receive them. This is Rapture being referred to in which Jesus in the sky will receive the saints to heaven as a host comes out of his chamber to receive His special guest or visitors to his house. (1 Thessalonians 4:14-17). *"That where I am, there ye may be also"*. *Question* Are you always watchful to make sure you are ever ready? *4. The Answer to the Forgetful* You will be surprised at the kind of question the once doubting Thomas was asking. *"Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?"*. He was there when Nicodemus was lectured by Christ on how to get to heaven. He was there when Jesus preached the longest sermon on the Mount as to the qualification for heaven. He was there when Jesus said *"No man has seen God at all times"*. Preachers should not assume that their followers fully understand the spiritual things they are teaching. Spiritual truth must be repeatedly read and taught over and over until it turns to conviction. Jesus is the only true way to heaven. *Question* What makes someone qualified for heaven? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, I praise You for the best alternative to this earth You have provided for me. Help me never to miss it 🙏. 2.Refocus my desire and affection on heaven and heavenly things afresh and help me that it will be my primary pursuit and vision 🙏. 3.Keep me from being deceived and distracted from heavenly things by the glamour of this world 🙏. 4.Search out Your people and remove all things in our lives that will make entering heaven impossible 🙏. *HYMN:* Where We Never Get Old. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* JOB 13-15. Don't you believe a word of it! At that moment, I shall be more alive than I am now. I shall have gone up higher, that is all, out of this old clay tenement into a house that is immortal, a body that death cannot touch, that sin cannot taint; a body fashioned like unto His glorious body." Moody understood the truth that heaven is not a vague idea but a real, prepared place for those who belong to Christ. He had no fear of death because he knew that Jesus had already secured for him an eternal home.* *In today's text, Jesus gives the same assurance to His disciples: He has gone ahead to prepare a place for them, and He will return to take them there. He speaks words of comfort to His troubled disciples. He tells them not to be afraid because His Father's house is big enough to accommodate all those who are qualified, and that He is going to prepare the place for them. More than that, He promises to return and bring them to be with Him forever. When Thomas questions the way to this place, Jesus makes a life-changing declaration: "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).* *Heaven is not an accidental destination. It is a prepared place for prepared people. Jesus makes it clear that He is the only Way to this eternal home. Today, many believe that all roads lead to heaven, but Christ's words leave no room for confusion. Only those who accept Him and live for Him will enter the place He has prepared.* *This truth should give us confidence and peace as believers in Christ's return. Just as a traveller finds joy knowing a home awaits at the end of his journey, we too should endure life's trials knowing that heaven is real and waiting for us. However, this is also a call for readiness, as only those who are prepared in Christ will enter there. Heaven is not for the undecided or the uncommitted; it is for those who know and follow Christ. It is for those who have let go of the world, let in Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour and live for Him consistently.* ✍🏽```THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:``` _*If your aim is heaven, look beyond this world.*_ 📜📜```THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:``` *JOB 13-15*📜📜 Heaven: Prepared For The Prepared https://dailymanna.app// *RECOMMENDED GOSPEL HYMNS AND SONGS - GHS 137: HOW BEAUTIFUL HEAVEN MUST BE; GHS 138: WHEN WE ALL GET TO HEAVEN; GHS 139: BEAUTIFUL HOME!; AND GHS 20: THE WAY, THE TRUTH, THE LIFE* *TXD [THEXDEVOTIONALS] on Twitter* *#DailyManna12thAugust2026* *#GCK* *#WorshipNuggets* *#BibleNuggets* *#LeadershipNuggets* *#RevivalNuggets* *#CrusadeNuggets* https://www.youtube.com/[THEXDEVOTIONALS] [11/08, 9:24 pm] Pastor Attah: ```DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY``` _*HIGHER EVERYD🅰️Y: (A DAILY DEVOTIONAL GUIDE FOR YOUTHS)*_ ✍🏽👩🏻‍💼🌻 🍇🙏🏽🛰🚀🔬📚 ```WEDNESDAY 12TH AUGUST, 2026``` *THE PRAYER OF FAITH* 🎚️📓📖🫵🏽🙋🏽‍♂️🙋🏽‍♀️🗣️🧎🏽🧎🏽‍♀️🙏🏽🙌🏽 📜📜```TEXT:JAMES 5:13-18```📜📜 📖``` MEMORY VERSE:``` _*"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him" (JAMES 5:15).*_ *Faith is the conduit between man and God. Though God is merciful, yet the salvation of your parents doesn't guarantee your protection from the wiles of the devil. Solomon allowed his great wisdom to control him. He forgot God and embraced popularity and riches. God was angry with him and punished him severely. God is not a respecter of persons. He punishes every sinner or backslider. *Avoid the danger ahead! Sin leads to heavy consequences. Such consequences could come in the form of sickness, failure in examination, oppression or death (physical and eternal). Return to God your Maker, He loves you.   • *John 3:16 (King James Version)*
    > _For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life._
    Breakdown:
    This is probably the most famous verse in the Bible. Jesus said it to Nicodemus while explaining how to be "born again."
    *1. "For God so loved the world"*
    _God_ → The Creator Himself.
    _so loved_ → The extent of His love is massive. Not just a little.
    _the world_ → Not just Israel, not just good people. All of us.
    *2. "that he gave his only begotten Son"*
    God’s love wasn’t just words. He gave what was most precious to Him.
    _only begotten Son_ = Jesus. Unique, one-of-a-kind.
    The gift was Jesus coming to earth, living, dying, and rising again for us.
    *3. "that whosoever believeth in him"*
    The offer is for _whosoever_. No exceptions. Any race, background, past.
    _believeth_ = trust, rely on, put faith in Jesus — not just know about Him.
    *4. "should not perish, but have everlasting life"*
    _not perish_ = not be separated from God forever. That’s the consequence of sin.
    _everlasting life_ = life with God now, and forever. It starts the moment you believe.
    The Big Picture:
    This verse sums up the Gospel:
    *God’s Love → God’s Gift → Our Faith → God’s Promise*
    It’s God’s initiative. He loved first, He gave first. Our part is to believe.
  • John 3:16: The One Verse That Changed the World
    “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:16 (KJV)
    If someone asked, “Can you explain the whole Christian faith in one sentence?” many Christians would point to John 3:16. It is one of the most quoted verses in history, translated into hundreds of languages, displayed in stadiums, printed in millions of Bibles, and memorized by children and adults alike. Yet despite its popularity, it is often read so quickly that its depth is overlooked.
    This verse is part of a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus, a respected Jewish teacher who came to Jesus at night searching for answers. Nicodemus knew religion, Scripture, and tradition, but Jesus showed him that knowing about God is not the same as knowing God. Jesus explained that every person needs a spiritual rebirth—a new life that only God can give.
    Then comes John 3:16.
    The first words, “For God so loved…”, reveal the starting point of the gospel. Christianity does not begin with human beings trying to earn God’s approval. It begins with God taking the first step toward us. His love is not based on our success, our morality, or our achievements. He loved us while we were still sinners, broken and unable to save ourselves.
    Notice that the verse says God loved “the world.” In the Bible, this does not mean God approves of every action or lifestyle. Rather, it means His offer of salvation is extended to people from every nation, background, and social class. No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace if they come to Him through Christ.
    The next phrase is perhaps the greatest act of love ever recorded:
    ”…that He gave His only begotten Son.”
    Love is measured by what it is willing to give. God did not merely send advice, another prophet, or a list of rules. He gave His Son. Jesus willingly entered our world, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again. The cross was not an accident; it was the center of God’s plan of redemption.
    The verse then says,
    ”…that whosoever believeth in Him…”
    This is one of the most hopeful words in the Bible: “whosoever.” It means the invitation is open to everyone. Rich or poor. Young or old. Religious or skeptical. Your past does not disqualify you from responding to Christ. But biblical belief is more than agreeing that Jesus existed. It is placing your trust in Him, following Him, and receiving Him as Lord and Savior.
    Jesus also speaks honestly about the human condition:
    ”…should not perish…”
    Modern culture often tells us that people are basically fine and simply need more education, more money, or more opportunities. The Bible goes deeper. It teaches that humanity’s greatest problem is separation from God because of sin. That separation has eternal consequences. Jesus does not ignore this reality; He came to rescue us from it.
    Finally, the verse ends with hope:
    ”…but have everlasting life.”
    Eternal life is not merely living forever. According to the New Testament, it begins the moment a person places their faith in Christ. It is a restored relationship with God that continues beyond death into eternity. It is a life marked by forgiveness, purpose, peace, and the promise that death is not the end.
    For young people today, John 3:16 speaks directly into a world searching for identity and meaning. Many are told that their value depends on appearance, popularity, achievements, or online approval. Jesus offers something different. He says your worth is not determined by how many people notice you but by the fact that God loved you enough to give His Son for you.
    This verse also challenges us. God’s love is not permission to live however we please. The same Jesus who welcomed sinners also called people to repentance, faith, and a transformed life. Grace is free, but it is never cheap—it cost Christ His life.
    After centuries of study, theologians from many Christian traditions continue to agree on one central truth: John 3:16 is the heart of the gospel. It reveals God’s initiative, Christ’s sacrifice, humanity’s need, the call to faith, and the promise of eternal life. Entire libraries have been written about this single verse, yet its central message remains wonderfully simple.
    God loves.
    God gave.
    We believe.
    We receive.
    That is why John 3:16 continues to speak across generations. It is not merely a famous Bible verse—it is an invitation from God to every human heart.
  • HOLY LIFE FELLOWSHIP PRESENTS
    BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT
    Part 3: What Does It Mean to Be Born of Water?
    Jesus declared:
    "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5)
    For centuries, these words have stirred one of the greatest questions in Scripture:
    What did Jesus mean by "water"?
    Was He referring to physical birth?
    Was He speaking of water baptism?
    Or was He unveiling a deeper spiritual reality that reaches far beyond the outward act of baptism?
    To answer that question, we must allow Scripture to interpret Scripture.
    Throughout the Bible, water repeatedly symbolizes cleansing, purification, and preparation.
    It portrays God's gracious work of calling sinful people away from corruption and preparing their hearts to receive Him.
    This is why John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness with a powerful message:
    "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 3:2)
    Those who believed his message confessed their sins and were baptized in the Jordan River—not because the water itself possessed the power to remove sin, but because their baptism publicly testified that they had turned away from sin and turned toward God.
    John's baptism was therefore a baptism of repentance.
    The water did not transform the heart.
    It testified that the heart desired transformation.
    It was an outward witness of an inward decision to forsake sin and prepare for the coming Messiah.
    When Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about being born of water, He was not introducing a new concept.
    He was reminding him of a truth that had echoed throughout the Scriptures—a call to repentance, cleansing, and a heart made ready for God.
    As "the teacher of Israel" (John 3:10),
    Nicodemus should have recognized this divine pattern.
    Yet Jesus did not stop there.
    Repentance, though absolutely necessary, cannot by itself produce eternal life. It opens the heart to the truth, but it cannot impart the very life of God.
    A heart may be convicted.
    A conscience may be awakened.
    A life may be reformed.
    Yet without the Spirit, the inner nature remains unchanged.
    That is why Jesus did not simply say,
    "Unless one is born of water..."
    He declared,
    "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit..."
    God's work does not end with cleansing.
    It continues with regeneration.
    Repentance prepares the heart.
    The Holy Spirit gives it life.
    One removes the old.
    The other creates the new.
    Together they reveal God's complete work of salvation.
    To be continued...
    In Part 4, we will discover why repentance alone can never save, why moral reformation is not the new birth, and why every sinner must receive the supernatural life that only the Holy Spirit can give.
    HOLY LIFE FELLOWSHIP PRESENTS BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT Part 3: What Does It Mean to Be Born of Water? Jesus declared: "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5) For centuries, these words have stirred one of the greatest questions in Scripture: What did Jesus mean by "water"? Was He referring to physical birth? Was He speaking of water baptism? Or was He unveiling a deeper spiritual reality that reaches far beyond the outward act of baptism? To answer that question, we must allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. Throughout the Bible, water repeatedly symbolizes cleansing, purification, and preparation. It portrays God's gracious work of calling sinful people away from corruption and preparing their hearts to receive Him. This is why John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness with a powerful message: "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 3:2) Those who believed his message confessed their sins and were baptized in the Jordan River—not because the water itself possessed the power to remove sin, but because their baptism publicly testified that they had turned away from sin and turned toward God. John's baptism was therefore a baptism of repentance. The water did not transform the heart. It testified that the heart desired transformation. It was an outward witness of an inward decision to forsake sin and prepare for the coming Messiah. When Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about being born of water, He was not introducing a new concept. He was reminding him of a truth that had echoed throughout the Scriptures—a call to repentance, cleansing, and a heart made ready for God. As "the teacher of Israel" (John 3:10), Nicodemus should have recognized this divine pattern. Yet Jesus did not stop there. Repentance, though absolutely necessary, cannot by itself produce eternal life. It opens the heart to the truth, but it cannot impart the very life of God. A heart may be convicted. A conscience may be awakened. A life may be reformed. Yet without the Spirit, the inner nature remains unchanged. That is why Jesus did not simply say, "Unless one is born of water..." He declared, "Unless one is born of water and the Spirit..." God's work does not end with cleansing. It continues with regeneration. Repentance prepares the heart. The Holy Spirit gives it life. One removes the old. The other creates the new. Together they reveal God's complete work of salvation. To be continued... In Part 4, we will discover why repentance alone can never save, why moral reformation is not the new birth, and why every sinner must receive the supernatural life that only the Holy Spirit can give.
    BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT
    Part 2: Why Must We Be Born Again?
    Jesus did not tell Nicodemus to become more religious.
    He did not tell him to study the Scriptures more diligently.
    He did not tell him to pray more, fast more, or perform more righteous works.
    Instead, Jesus declared:
    "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
    Why?
    Because the greatest problem facing mankind is not ignorance. It is not lack of religion. It is not the absence of good intentions.
    The problem lies much deeper.
    Our very nature has been corrupted by sin. The human heart does not naturally love God. The natural mind resists His truth, and the human will prefers its own way.
    No amount of religious activity can change that condition.
    A sinner may learn the language of Christianity. He may attend church faithfully. He may preach, pray, give generously, and even defend sound doctrine. Yet none of these things can produce spiritual life.
    Only God can impart life where there is spiritual death.
    That is why Jesus spoke of a birth—not an improvement.
    Birth produces life.
    A person who has never been born cannot make himself alive.
    In the same way, no one can give himself spiritual life. The new birth is entirely the work of God.
    Seeing Nicodemus' confusion, Jesus continued:
    "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God." (John 3:5)
    What did Jesus mean by being born of water and the Spirit?
    Was He speaking about water baptism?
    Or was He revealing something far deeper about God's work of salvation?
    To be continued...
    In Part 3, we will begin to uncover the meaning of being born of water and the Spirit, and why Jesus chose those very words.
  • THE BOOK OF LIFE: Will Your Name Be Found Written There?
    How to Make Sure You Are Ready When You Stand Before King Jesus
    “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”
    — Revelation 20:15
    There is a day coming when every person who has ever lived will stand before the eternal King, Jesus Christ. On that day, there will be no hiding, no excuses, no pretending, and no earthly possessions that can save us.
    The greatest question anyone can ever ask is not:
    "How successful was I?"
    "How much money did I have?"
    "How many people knew my name?"
    The greatest question is:
    “Is my name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life?”
    ---
    The Shocking Warning of Jesus
    Jesus gave a serious warning that should cause every heart to examine itself.
    “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”
    — Matthew 7:21
    Some people will be shocked on judgment day because they thought they were ready, but they never truly surrendered their lives to Christ.
    Jesus continued:
    “And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”
    — Matthew 7:23
    These are some of the most terrifying words in Scripture:
    “I never knew you.”
    Not because Jesus wants anyone to be lost, but because He lovingly warns us now while there is still time to turn to Him.
    ---
    How Can You Know Your Name Is Written in the Book of Life?
    1. Truly Repent and Turn to Jesus Christ
    Salvation begins with a surrendered heart.
    “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”
    — Acts 3:19
    Repentance means turning away from sin and turning toward God.
    It does not mean you become perfect overnight. It means your heart belongs to Jesus and you desire to follow Him.
    ---
    2. Believe in Jesus Christ as Your Lord and Savior
    The Bible gives the promise:
    “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life.”
    — John 3:36
    Jesus said:
    “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
    — John 11:25
    Eternal life is not earned by human effort. It is received through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
    ---
    3. Be Born Again Through the Holy Spirit
    Jesus told Nicodemus:
    “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
    — John 3:3
    Being born again means God transforms your heart.
    The Holy Spirit begins changing your desires, your thoughts, and your actions.
    ---
    4. Do Not Just Know About Jesus — Know Jesus
    Many people know facts about Jesus, but Jesus calls us into a relationship with Him.
    Paul wrote:
    “That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection.”
    — Philippians 3:10
    The question is not only:
    "Do you know who Jesus is?"
    The question is:
    “Does Jesus know you?”
    ---
    5. Remain Faithful Until the End
    Jesus said:
    “He who endures to the end shall be saved.”
    — Matthew 24:13
    The Christian life is not a temporary decision. It is a lifelong journey of following Jesus.
    When we stumble, we come back. When we fall, we seek His forgiveness. When we are weak, His grace strengthens us.
    ---
    The Good News: Jesus Wants Your Name Written There
    God does not desire anyone to perish.
    “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
    — 2 Peter 3:9
    The cross proves God's love.
    Jesus stretched out His hands and paid the price for our sins.
    “The blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”
    — 1 John 1:7
    ---
    A Prayer to Make Sure Your Heart Is Ready
    Lord Jesus Christ,
    Today I come before You with humility.
    I do not want to stand before You one day and hear the words, “I never knew you.”
    I want my name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
    Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner and I need Your mercy. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again victorious from the grave.
    Wash me clean by Your precious blood.
    Forgive my past. Change my heart. Renew my mind. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit.
    Help me not to live a fake faith, but a genuine relationship with You.
    Teach me to love You, obey You, and follow You every day.
    When temptation comes, strengthen me. When I fall, restore me. When I feel far away, draw me back into Your presence.
    Lord Jesus, I surrender my entire life to You.
    Write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life and help me remain faithful until the day I see You face to face.
    I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
    Amen.
    ---
    “Rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”
    — Luke 10:20
    The greatest security in the universe is not having your name remembered on earth — it is having your name remembered by King Jesus forever.
  • HOLY LIFE FELLOWSHIP RESENTS
    BORN OF WATER AND THE SPIRIT
    Part 1: A Religious Man Searching in the Dark
    It was late at night when a respected religious leader came searching for answers.
    His name was Nicodemus.
    He knew the Scriptures. He taught others. He was admired throughout Israel.
    If anyone appeared qualified to enter the kingdom of God, surely it was him.
    Yet something troubled his heart.
    The miracles of Jesus had awakened questions that years of religious learning could not answer.
    His knowledge had not given him certainty.
    His position had not given him peace.
    So, under the cover of darkness, Nicodemus sought out Jesus.
    Before Nicodemus could even finish introducing himself, Jesus spoke words that shattered everything he believed about salvation:
    "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." (John 3:3)
    What an astonishing statement!
    How could a man who had devoted his life to studying God's Word still lack the one thing that mattered most?
    This encounter immediately exposes a truth that many still overlook today: it is possible to know the Scriptures, attend church faithfully, preach, pray, and participate in religious activities, yet never experience the new birth that Jesus declared to be absolutely essential.
    The conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus is not merely a lesson about doctrine.
    It is God's invitation for every one of us to examine whether our faith is rooted in outward religion or in genuine spiritual life.
    To be continued...
    In Part 2, we will examine why Jesus declared that no one can even see the kingdom of God unless they are born again, and what that new birth truly means.
  • HOLY LIFE FELLOWSHIP PRESENTS
    Born of Water and the Spirit
    Part 11: Knowing the Scriptures... But Missing the Savior
    Section 1: The Scholar Who Could Not See the Messiah
    In our previous study, Jesus confronted Nicodemus with one of the greatest spiritual realities ever spoken: "You must be born of water and the Spirit."
    Yet the teacher of Israel stood bewildered, unable to understand what Jesus meant.
    How could a man so learned in the Scriptures fail to recognise the very truth they proclaimed?
    Today, we begin uncovering that mystery. We'll discover that it is possible to know the Scriptures... and yet completely miss the Saviour to whom they testify.
    After listening to Jesus speak about being born of water and the Spirit, Nicodemus stood in silence.
    Everything he had spent his life studying suddenly seemed insufficient.
    He had devoted years to mastering the Law of Moses.
    He knew the writings of the prophets.
    He understood Israel's religious traditions better than almost anyone else.
    Yet standing before him was a truth that none of his learning had prepared him to receive.
    Seeing his confusion, Jesus asked a question that has echoed through the centuries and continues to confront every generation:
    "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things?" (John 3:10).
    Notice carefully what Jesus did not say.
    He did not accuse Nicodemus of lacking intelligence.
    He did not question his education.
    Nor did He criticise his dedication to studying the Scriptures.
    Instead, Jesus exposed something far more serious.
    Nicodemus possessed an impressive knowledge of the scriptures, yet he had failed to perceive the One to whom those scriptures pointed.
    He knew the Scriptures...
    But he had not truly discovered their Author.
    He understood the commandments...
    Yet he had not embraced the Savior they foretold.
    He could explain the promises made to Israel...
    But he had not recognised the Promised One standing before him.
    How tragic it is to possess knowledge of the Bible while remaining a stranger to the very life it proclaims.
    This is precisely why Jesus later declared:
    "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life." (John 5:39–40).
    The Pharisees devoted themselves to studying the sacred writings.
    They were respected teachers.
    Experts in theology.
    Guardians of Israel's religious heritage.
    Yet despite their remarkable scholarship, they failed to recognise that the Law and the Prophets had always been pointing toward Christ.
    Every prophecy.
    Every sacrifice.
    Every feast.
    Every priest.
    Every offering.
    Every shadow found its fulfilment in Him.
    The One whom Moses wrote about...
    The One whom Isaiah saw...
    The One whom David sang about...
    The One whom every prophet anticipated...
    was now walking among them.
    Yet they remained spiritually blind.
    What an astonishing irony.
    The greatest students of Scripture stood face to face with the living Word of God...and failed to recognise Him.
    When Jesus spoke these words in John chapter five, He was not speaking merely as another rabbi or teacher.
    He spoke as the eternal Word of God—the complete and perfect revelation of the Father.
    Yet men who had spent their entire lives studying the Scriptures could not perceive who stood before them.
    This teaches us an important spiritual lesson.
    The Scriptures are God's inspired written testimony.
    But without the illuminating work of the Holy Spirit, they remain words on a page.
    The Holy Spirit does not replace the Scriptures.
    Rather, He opens our understanding so that we may behold the living Word revealed through them.
    The Word of God is no longer confined to ink and paper.
    It is written upon the tablets of the heart.
    Knowledge alone cannot transform a soul.
    Only divine revelation can.
    A person may memorise entire books of the Bible...
    Learn systematic theology...
    Master biblical languages...
    Defend orthodox doctrine...
    Yet remain spiritually unchanged if the Holy Spirit has never brought those truths to life within the heart.
    This is why Solomon declared:
    "Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint..." (Proverbs 29:18).
    Without divine revelation, people perish spiritually.
    It is entirely possible to fill the mind with biblical information while leaving the heart untouched by the life of God.
    That was the tragedy of Nicodemus.
    And it remains one of the greatest dangers facing the Church today.
    But this leaves us with an important question.
    If years of studying the Scriptures could not give Nicodemus spiritual understanding, what was he still missing?
    Jesus Himself gives the answer—and it has everything to do with the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
    We'll uncover that in the next section.
