  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS:

    SERMON TOPIC:

    THE MOST DANGEROUS BELIEVERS ARE NOT THOSE WHO LEAVE THE CHURCH.

    Theme:
    Examining the danger of remaining around the things of God while the heart is far from God
    Scripture: Matthew 7:21–23; Revelation 3:1–3; Luke 18:9–14

    Church, let me begin with a statement that may shock you:
    The most dangerous believer is not always the one who leaves the church. Sometimes, it is the one who remains in the church but leaves Christ in the heart.
    Some people leave the church physically, and everybody notices.
    But there are others who remain in the congregation, sing the songs, carry the Bible, attend services, shout “Amen,” give offerings, quote Scriptures—and yet their hearts have slowly moved away from God.
    They have not left the building, but they have left the Presence.

    Jesus warned us that there would be people who would say, “Lord, Lord,” and yet He would say, “I never knew you.” — Matthew 7:23.
    This means church attendance is not the same thing as spiritual transformation.
    You can sit in church and still be far from God.
    You can know Christian language and not know Christ.
    You can serve in a department and secretly serve your flesh.
    You can have a title without having a testimony.
    The question is not merely:
    “Am I in church?”
    The deeper question is:
    “Is Christ truly ruling my life?”

    KEY BIBLE VERSES.

    1. Matthew 7:21–23 — “Lord, Lord”
    Jesus said:
    «“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven…”»
    Notice something frightening: these people called Jesus “Lord.”
    They knew the language of faith.
    They even claimed to have done mighty works.
    Yet Jesus said, “I never knew you.”

    Spiritual lesson:
    It is possible to be familiar with the things of God without having a genuine relationship with God.
    Church activity cannot replace spiritual intimacy.
    2. Revelation 3:1 — “You have a name that you are alive”
    Jesus told the church at Sardis:
    «“Thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.”»
    What a frightening diagnosis!
    The church had a reputation for being alive, but Jesus saw something different.
    People saw activity.
    Jesus saw the heart.
    People saw the appearance.
    Jesus saw the condition.
    Spiritual lesson:
    God is more interested in who you are privately than who you appear to be publicly.
    3. Isaiah 29:13
    «“This people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me; but have removed their heart far from me.”»
    Their lips were close.
    Their hearts were far away.
    This is the danger of religious appearance without genuine surrender.

    5 TYPES OF DANGEROUS BELIEVERS

    1. THE BELIEVER WHO KNOWS SCRIPTURE BUT REFUSES TO OBEY IT
    There is a difference between knowing God's Word and living God's Word.
    James 1:22 says:
    «“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…”»
    Some believers can explain forgiveness but refuse to forgive.
    They can preach holiness but live carelessly.
    They can quote Scripture but manipulate people.
    They know what God says, but they have decided to obey themselves.

    Deep insight:

    Information without transformation can produce religious pride.
    The devil does not necessarily fear a Christian who knows many Bible verses.
    He fears the Christian who believes, obeys, and lives the Word.
    2. THE BELIEVER WHO HAS A FORM OF GODLINESS BUT NO POWER
    2 Timothy 3:5 speaks about people:
    «“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”»
    A form is an outward appearance.
    It looks right.
    It sounds right.
    But something is missing inside.
    You can dress like a Christian.
    Talk like a Christian.
    Post Christian messages.
    Attend Christian programs.
    And still refuse to surrender your character to Christ.
    Ask yourself:
    What happens to my Christianity when nobody is watching?
    That is where genuine Christianity is tested.
    Your secret life is a better measurement of your spiritual condition than your public reputation.
    3. THE BELIEVER WHO HAS BECOME COMFORTABLE WITH SIN
    One of the most dangerous conditions is not falling into sin accidentally.
    It is becoming comfortable with sin deliberately.
    The believer begins by saying:
    «“It is only once.”»
    Then:
    «“Everybody is doing it.”»
    Then:
    «“God understands.”»
    Eventually, the conscience becomes quiet.
    Romans 6:1–2 warns against continuing in sin because grace abounds.

    Deep spiritual truth:

    Grace is not permission to remain in sin. Grace is God's power to bring us out of sin.
    If something is destroying your relationship with God, don't defend it.
    Repent from it.
    4. THE BELIEVER WHO LOVES THE CHURCH BUT DOES NOT LOVE CHRIST
    This may sound strange, but it happens.
    Someone can love:
    - The choir
    - The pastor
    - The church building
    - Christian conferences
    - Christian music
    - Christian social media
    - Christian friendships
    …but fail to love Jesus with all their heart.
    Jesus told the church at Ephesus:
    «“Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.” — Revelation 2:4»
    They were working.
    They were enduring.
    They were doctrinally discerning.
    But they had lost their first love.
    Important lesson:
    You can be busy doing things for Jesus while becoming distant from Jesus.
    Don't allow ministry to replace relationship.
    Don't allow your assignment to replace intimacy.
    Don't allow the work of God to become more important than the God of the work.
    5. THE BELIEVER WHO REFUSES CORRECTION
    A dangerous believer is one who cannot be corrected.
    When the pastor preaches against something they are doing, they become angry.
    When a mature Christian warns them, they say:
    «“Don't judge me.”»
    When Scripture confronts their lifestyle, they look for another interpretation.
    Proverbs 12:1 says:
    «“Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.”»
    Spiritual maturity means:
    I am willing to be corrected because I want to become more like Christ.
    A person who cannot receive correction will eventually become a prisoner of their own deception.

    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:

    JUDAS ISCARIOT

    Judas is one of the most sobering examples in Scripture.
    Judas walked with Jesus.
    He heard Jesus teach.
    He witnessed miracles.
    He traveled with the disciples.
    He was part of the ministry.
    He was close enough to Jesus to call Him Master.
    Yet Judas eventually betrayed Him.
    This teaches us something frightening:
    Being close to spiritual things does not automatically mean your heart belongs to God.
    You can be around anointed people and remain unchanged.
    You can witness miracles and still struggle with unbelief.
    You can carry a Bible and still carry bitterness.
    You can occupy a position and lose your spiritual condition.
    But there is hope.
    Peter also failed Jesus.
    The difference was that Peter returned in repentance.
    Judas allowed his failure to lead him into destruction.
    Failure does not have to be the end of your story. Repentance can become the beginning of restoration.

    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS

    1. EXAMINE YOUR HEART
    Psalm 139:23–24:
    «“Search me, O God, and know my heart…”»
    Don't only ask, “What is wrong with others?”
    Ask:
    “Lord, what needs to change in me?”
    2. RETURN TO YOUR FIRST LOVE
    If prayer has become a duty, return.
    If Bible reading has become routine, return.
    If worship has become performance, return.
    If your passion for Christ has disappeared, return.
    3. STOP JUSTIFYING WHAT GOD IS ASKING YOU TO REPENT OF
    Don't rename sin.
    Don't call disobedience “weakness.”
    Don't call compromise “wisdom.”
    Don't call rebellion “freedom.”
    When God reveals something, respond with repentance.
    4. PRACTICE PRIVATE CHRISTIANITY
    Pray when nobody is watching.
    Read the Word when nobody is applauding.
    Give when nobody knows.
    Forgive when nobody forces you.
    Serve when nobody celebrates you.
    What you do privately reveals what you truly value.
    5. STAY TEACHABLE
    Allow God's Word to correct you.
    Allow mature believers to challenge you.
    Allow the Holy Spirit to convict you.
    A heart that can still be corrected is a heart that can still be transformed.

    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS

    1. PROXIMITY TO HOLY THINGS DOES NOT GUARANTEE HOLINESS.
    Judas was close to Jesus physically, but his heart was not surrendered.
    2. RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY CAN HIDE SPIRITUAL DECLINE.
    A person can become busier in church while becoming colder toward God.
    3. GOD LOOKS BEYOND THE PLATFORM.
    People may see your preaching.
    God sees your private life.
    People hear your words.
    God knows your motives.
    4. THE GREATEST DANGER IS SELF-DECEPTION.
    A sinner who knows he is lost may seek help.
    But someone who is lost and believes he is spiritually healthy may never seek rescue.
    5. JESUS DOES NOT ONLY WANT YOUR CHURCH ATTENDANCE.
    He wants your heart.
    He wants your character.
    He wants your obedience.
    He wants your entire life.

    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

    1. Am I following Jesus or merely following Christian activities?
    2. Does my private life agree with my public confession?
    3. Is there any sin I have become comfortable with?
    4. Can I receive correction without becoming offended?
    5. Have I lost my first love for Christ?
    6. Am I more concerned about what people think about me than what God thinks about me?
    7. If Jesus examined my heart today, what would He find?

    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS

    1.
    Father, search my heart and expose everything in me that is not pleasing to You, in Jesus' name.
    2.
    Lord Jesus, deliver me from religious appearance without spiritual reality.
    3.
    Father, restore my first love for You. Let my passion for Christ become stronger again.
    4.
    Lord, give me grace to obey Your Word, not merely hear it.
    5.
    Every spirit of hypocrisy and self-deception, be broken over my life, in Jesus' name.
    6.
    Father, give me a heart that receives correction and grows in wisdom.
    7.
    Lord, let my private life and public testimony agree.
    8.
    Holy Spirit, create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.
    9.
    Father, keep me faithful to Christ until the end of my journey.

    CALL TO ACTION

    Beloved, don't leave this message thinking about another believer.
    Think about yourself.
    Don't ask:
    «“Who in my church needs to hear this?”»
    Ask:
    «“Lord, what are You saying to me?”»
    The goal of Christianity is not simply to remain in church.
    The goal is to remain in Christ.
    Jesus said in John 15:4:
    «“Abide in me, and I in you.”»
    Don't just carry the name Christian.
    Carry Christ in your heart.
    Don't just attend church.
    Become the church wherever you go.
    Don't just quote the Word.
    Live the Word.
    Don't just raise your hands in worship.
    Surrender your heart in obedience.
    And don't wait until you stand before Jesus to discover that you were close to church but far from Christ.

    TODAY, RETURN TO JESUS.
    Return to your first love.
    Return to prayer.
    Return to the Word.
    Return to holiness.
    Return to obedience.
    Return to genuine fellowship with Christ.
    The greatest question is not, “Did I attend church?”
    It is:
    “DOES JESUS TRULY KNOW ME?”
    May we never be believers who merely look alive.
    May we be believers who are truly alive in Christ.
    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

    FINAL DECLARATION

    I will not merely look like a Christian; I will live for Christ.
    I will not only hear God's Word; I will obey it.
    I will not hide behind religious activity; I will pursue genuine relationship with Jesus.
    My heart belongs to Christ, my life belongs to Christ, and my future belongs to Christ.
    In Jesus' name. Amen.

    Give your life to Jesus by joining a Bible believing Church.

Yet Judas eventually betrayed Him. This teaches us something frightening: Being close to spiritual things does not automatically mean your heart belongs to God. PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS 1. EXAMINE YOUR HEART Psalm 139:23–24: «“Search me, O God, and know my heart…”» Don't only ask, “What is wrong with others?” Ask: “Lord, what needs to change in me?” 2. RETURN TO YOUR FIRST LOVE If prayer has become a duty, return. If Bible reading has become routine, return. If worship has become performance, return. If your passion for Christ has disappeared, return. 3. STOP JUSTIFYING WHAT GOD IS ASKING YOU TO REPENT OF Don't rename sin. Don't call disobedience “weakness.” Don't call compromise “wisdom.” Don't call rebellion “freedom.” When God reveals something, respond with repentance. 4. PRACTICE PRIVATE CHRISTIANITY Pray when nobody is watching. Read the Word when nobody is applauding. Give when nobody knows. Forgive when nobody forces you. Serve when nobody celebrates you. What you do privately reveals what you truly value. 5. STAY TEACHABLE Allow God's Word to correct you. Allow mature believers to challenge you. Allow the Holy Spirit to convict you. A heart that can still be corrected is a heart that can still be transformed. DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION 1. POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. CALL TO ACTION Beloved, don't leave this message thinking about another believer. Think about yourself. Don't ask: «“Who in my church needs to hear this?”» Ask: «“Lord, what are You saying to me?”» The goal of Christianity is not simply to remain in church. The goal is to remain in Christ. Jesus said in John 15:4: «“Abide in me, and I in you.”» Don't just carry the name Christian. The greatest question is not, “Did I attend church?” It is: “DOES JESUS TRULY KNOW ME?” May we never be believers who merely look alive. May we be believers who are truly alive in Christ. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. FINAL DECLARATION I will not merely look like a Christian; I will live for Christ. I will not only hear God's Word; I will obey it. I will not hide behind religious activity; I will pursue genuine relationship with Jesus. My heart belongs to Christ, my life belongs to Christ, and my future belongs to Christ. In Jesus' name. Amen. • Good morning brethren.
    1. Morning devotion for today.

    MD.i. MORNING TEA
    THE WORD FOR TODAY. MONDAY AUGUST 24, 2O26.
    "WELCOME THIS CHANGE"

    ‘…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand...’ Exodus 12:11 NCV.

    THE BOY Scout motto is ‘Be prepared,’ and it’s a good one. In Exodus, God told Israel, ‘…eat…fully dressed as if you were going on a trip…have your sandals on and your walking stick in your hand.’ In other words, ‘Be ready when I tell you to move!’ Maybe there’s an area in your life where God is telling you it’s time to move, but fear is making you hold back. Don’t! Change is just evidence of growth. What worked yesterday can be tomorrow’s recipe for failure. You can’t become who you are destined to be, if you insist on staying as you are. John Patterson said, ‘Only fools and dead men don’t change…Fools won’t, and dead men can’t.’ Change isn’t the enemy. Once you start seeing yourself as a lifelong learner looking for ways to grow and improve, change becomes your friend. Learn from the people you meet, pursue new ideas, strategies, and ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Jim Penner says: ‘Our bodies change no matter how hard we exercise…Our homes change as our needs ebb and flow. Our places of employment change as the winds of economic forces blow and new opportunities come…friendships change as family needs and employment pull us away…While many changes become enjoyable new seasons…sometimes they’re painful. But no matter what season of change you’re experiencing…you can find comfort in Malachi 3:6, ‘I am God…I haven’t changed…’ (TM). His mercies endure forever…and it’s an awesome feeling knowing He loves and directs you just like He directed all His people who came before you.’

    *EXPLOITS THROUGH CONQUERING FAITH*

    *TEXT:* JOSHUA 11:10-23.

    10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
    11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
    12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
    13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
    14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
    15 As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
    16 So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
    17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
    18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
    19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
    20 For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
    21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
    22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
    23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.

    *Timeless Truth:*_"And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions"_ (Hebrews 11:32-33).

    *INTRODUCTION*

    William C. Martin (1878) penned down this song relevant to the topic of discussion.
    "In the warfare that is raging
    For the truth and for the right,
    When the conflict, fierce, is raging
    With the powers of the night,
    God needs people brave and true:
    May He then depend on you?
    Refrain:
    May the Lord depend on you?
    Loyalty is but His due;
    Say, O spirit, brave and true,
    That He may depend on you".
    God's covenants to Israel were majorly earthly and therefore, their warfares to possess their promises were physical. For the New Testament, the covenant is mostly spiritual and heavenly and therefore the warfares of the New Testament saints are spiritual. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."* (2 Corinthians 10:4). Lessons on Old Testament physical warfares are meant to teach the New Testament saints some important features of spiritual warfare which is a major part of successful and victorious Christian living.
    Joshua and Israel faced formidable kings, fortified cities and numerous enemies, yet God gave them victory. Their exploits demonstrated that conquering faith rested on obedience to God's authority and instructions with perseverance until the battle was completely won. When faith is anchored in God, no enemy can ultimately withstand His purpose for His people.

    *1. Determined Destruction Accomplished*

    a. God had concluded from the time of Abraham that the Amorites would be obliterated when their iniquities reached the peak when God could no more tolerate them (Genesis 15:15,16; Exodus 34:11-13). The time now came to start possessing the land as promised, but they must fight for it, for it would not come on a platter of gold. All the promises of God have been paid for by the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. However, the adversary is always there to contest against those blessings and believers must be ready to contend and possess it as God has given us assurance of victory as legitimate owners of the blessings. Our Lord Himself said, *"the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force"* (Matthew 11:12). The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were commended for their violence of faith, courage and determination as they fought spiritual warfares. The violence of believers is spiritual and had to do with violence and force of faith. Nobody will be able to possess his possessions here on earth and enter heaven eventually if he does not learn to be brave and violent in spiritual warfare against the flesh, fiends, faithlessness, fear and foolishness.
    b. Joshua did not leave unfinished what God had commanded him to accomplish. Hazor, the head of the northern kingdoms, was captured and destroyed and its king was put to death. The destruction was decisive because Joshua understood that partial obedience could jeopardize the victory God had promised. Conquering faith is determined faith—it does not retreat because the opposition is strong or the assignment is difficult. What God commands must be pursued with courage and perseverance. Joshua, with courageous faith, moved along the will and Word of God and destroyed those that God had condemned to destruction because they refused to repent.

    *Question*

    Are there areas of your life where God expects you to exercise determined faith and completely overcome persistent opposition?

    *2. Done According to the Divine Authority*

    a. The destruction of the Canaanites by Joshua in the text took about 7 years though it was recorded as if they all happened in rapidity. God had told them that they would conquer the land *"little by little"*. (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22). You don't expect those formidable enemies to be overcome without giving a strong fight and resistance. Spiritual wars, like the physical wars are at times protracted. In order to overcome the adversary, there is a need to maintain a persistent and untiring warfare disposition and attitude for Satan and his agents will not give up without a strong and persistent resistance. So, fight manfully onward and never give up but persist until you laugh last. God has destined and programmed you for total victory. The "little by little" approach also gave the Canaanites the opportunity to repent and seek for mercy like Rahab and her household and the Gibeonites did.
    Joshua acted according to the command of the LORD. Those who perished must have been adamant because it had been settled that Israel would destroy all of them just like Rahab confessed (Joshua 2:9-11). All those who perished perished because they chose to and not for lack of opportunity to repent. Rahab and her household, the Giebeonites and the Shechemites decided not to perish and they did not because they did the needful. Those people refused to repent, their hearts were hardened through rejection of mercy. This hardening of men’s hearts is when God gives man up to his sin after the person refused the mercy of God (Romans 1:24-28).
    b. How could Joshua have overcome? Israel was not trained in the art of warfare at the time. Second, Israel did not have horses and chariots to fight, whereas the Canaanites had in abundance. Yet, God told them that it was a battle of faith and therefore, they should not fear the better equipped and stronger adversaries. *"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire"*. It was like the case of little David versus the giant Goliath. Spiritual battles, while doing the needful, do not look at the size and the arrogance of the adversaries. With faith in God, their horses and chariots will be defeated. *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God"* (Psalm 20:7). Can you imagine a poorly trained and inexperienced army of Israel defeating better trained
    coalition of nations in their multitudes with their horses and chariots? Obeying God's Word and instruction is always a guarantee of victory regardless of the might and the arsenal of the adversaries. Joshua did not depend on personal wisdom or military strength; he carried out God's instructions. Verse 15 emphasizes that Joshua did everything the LORD commanded Moses, and Moses had commanded Joshua. True exploits are accomplished under divine authority. Faith becomes powerful when it is joined with obedience. The victory was not merely Joshua's achievement; it was God's purpose being fulfilled through a yielded servant. We too must learn to follow God's Word even when His instructions challenge our natural reasoning.

    *Question*

    Are your decisions and actions being governed by God's Word and divine authority?

    *3. The Defeat of the Dreaded Adversaries*

    The Anakims were the most dreaded adversaries of Israel while they were in the wilderness. In fact, the spies (10 of them) sent said they were like grasshoppers compared to the Anakims (Numbers 13:27-33). It was the fear of those people that made Israel to be punished in the wilderness with 40 years of wandering and deaths. God delayed this fight to be their last fight so that Israel would have, from experience, learnt the art of warfare. They did not know that God had His own strategy of training them to be fit for the warfare against those terrorizing adversaries. When God gives a promise, don't look at your weakness and be asking how possible. God has His own plan to make you fit enough to deal with the enemy before He Himself takes over. "The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow" and victory is certain.
    b. The promise of Deuteronomy 9:1–3, which specifically predicts the defeat of the fearsome Anakites, is fulfilled(Joshua 11:21–23). Those who once appeared invincible were overcome by the power of God. Joshua's victory teaches us that yesterday's giants need not determine today's destiny. Through conquering faith, intimidating obstacles can become testimonies of God's faithfulness. Finally, the land had rest from war. When God's people trust Him, obey His commands and persevere in faith, victory and divine rest become possible.

    *Question*

    What “giant” or dreaded adversary are you allowing to intimidate you instead of confronting it through faith in God?

    *Prayer Points*

    1.Lord, give me conquering faith to overcome every persistent opposition standing against Your purpose for my life.
    2.Father, help me to walk in complete obedience to Your Word and submit every decision to Your divine authority .
    3.O Lord, bring down every giant and defeat every dreaded adversary confronting my progress, destiny and calling .
    4.Father, grant Your children lasting victory and divine rest after every battle and let their lives become testimonies of Your mighty exploits .

    ```KEY VERSE:``` _*"There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle" (JOSHUA 11:19).*_
    *Mercy from God is that vital element that no one can earn, deserve or merit. It is an inalienable deed that underpins God's dealings with fallible humankind, saved or unsaved. When all else fails, God's mercies will never fail.*
    *The Canaanites and other nations in the Promised Land engaged in battle against Joshua and the Israelites without seeking a peace agreement, despite their unfavourable position. In this chapter, Joshua faced a coalition of Canaanite forces, defeating them before turning his attention to the northern region. The city of Hazor was captured and burned, with its spoils taken by the Israelites. Joshua then advanced towards the hills and southern territories, continuing the conflict until the entirety of the land was subdued and allocated to the tribes of Israel. The account raises challenging questions regarding the nature of a loving God permitting such violence, particularly the killing of women and children. This narrative has sparked criticism towards the Scripture, leading to inquiries about the justness of these holy wars and casting doubt on divine benevolence, consequently perplexing many readers.*
    *The text emphasises that the people in the land repeatedly heard about God's actions but chose to resist and did not seek mercy, with the Gibeonites being the only exception, although through deceit. Instead of pursuing peace, they relied on military might, having engaged in idol worship and iniquity for centuries, including horrific sacrifices. Ultimately, God's judgment deemed it necessary to cleanse the land of those viewed as rebels and enemies, as the people were prepared to oppose Him rather than embrace His ways.*
    *No one can fight against God and expect to win. It is an effort in futility when we roll out our battle gear instead of pleading and repenting. God delights in mercy. He's not interested in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn to Him in repentance and live. "As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live..."*
    *Dispute over paternity can be resolved through a DNA test and lay to rest such controversy. Likewise, holiness puts to silence every debate on who a child of God is. God is holy, and anyone who professes to be His child must possess this very nature of God - holiness. An unholy life has no resemblance to God and no usefulness to the world.*
    *"Be ye holy" is God's command. Heaven is a holy place. The God of heaven is a Holy Being. The angels are holy creatures. Everything in heaven is holiness. It is impossible to get to heaven if we die unholy. The Holy Bible clearly states that: "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).*
    *Holiness is not optional; it is mandatory for all who desire to see God and live with Him in eternity. To be holy simply means to be purged from inward and outward sins.     2. Morning Prayer for today.
    MP.i. Morning Prayer
    I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service. ⏤ Romans 12:1
    He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day. ⏤ John Bunyan
    Almighty God, the Father of us all, in whom we live and move and have our being—we worship You and give thanks to Your great and holy name. Our hearts are full of memories of Sunday. May we be like those who have walked among fragrant flowers, carrying the scent on our very garments. May we be more joyful, more trusting, more holy, more loving, and more prayerful because of the holy influences that saturated our lives yesterday.
    You are the God of the evening and the morning. Every day reveals where You have walked in love. We thank You for this day that now shines upon us. We need Your presence with us through all its hours, for we don’t know what they hold for us:
    what duties,
    what problems that must be solved,
    what decisions that must be made,
    what responsibilities that must be met,
    what surprises of joy or sorrow,
    what temptations,
    what conflicts,
    what dangers.
    We don’t know—but You do, and we’re not afraid to leave it all in Your hands. Bless us with peace, wisdom, and strength for whatever lies ahead. Take our hands and guide us.
    We consecrate ourselves to You this day, O God, for life and service. We are Yours, and we present ourselves as a living sacrifice to You. We want to live only for You. Help us to renounce all claims on ourselves and truly be Yours. If we are called to any hard duty, task, or service—give us the grace to accept Your will cheerfully and to do what pleases You. Work deeply in us by Your Spirit, continuing the renewal of our nature, and building us up in holiness and righteousness, through Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.
John Patterson said, ‘Only fools and dead men don’t change…Fools won’t, and dead men can’t.’ Change isn’t the enemy. Once you start seeing yourself as a lifelong learner looking for ways to grow and improve, change becomes your friend. Learn from the people you meet, pursue new ideas, strategies, and ways to push yourself out of your comfort zone. Jim Penner says: ‘Our bodies change no matter how hard we exercise…Our homes change as our needs ebb and flow. Our places of employment change as the winds of economic forces blow and new opportunities come…friendships change as family needs and employment pull us away…While many changes become enjoyable new seasons…sometimes they’re painful. But no matter what season of change you’re experiencing…you can find comfort in Malachi 3:6, ‘I am God…I haven’t changed…’ (TM). His mercies endure forever…and it’s an awesome feeling knowing He loves and directs you just like He directed all His people who came before you.’ Bible In A Year: Ezek 1-4, Matt 21:1-11, Ps 119:161-168, Pro 19:3-8. [23/08, 7:59 pm] Pastor Attah: *MEDITATIONS ON DAILY ⓂANNA* MONDAY, 24TH AUGUST, 2026. *EXPLOITS THROUGH CONQUERING FAITH* *TEXT:* JOSHUA 11:10-23. 10 And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms. 11 And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire. 12 And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded. 13 But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn. 14 And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe. 15 As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. 16 So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same; 17 Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them. 18 Joshua made war a long time with all those kings. 19 There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle. 20 For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses. 21 And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities. 22 There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained. 23 So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. *Timeless Truth:*_"And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions"_ (Hebrews 11:32-33). *INTRODUCTION* William C. Martin (1878) penned down this song relevant to the topic of discussion. "In the warfare that is raging For the truth and for the right, When the conflict, fierce, is raging With the powers of the night, God needs people brave and true: May He then depend on you? Refrain: May the Lord depend on you? Loyalty is but His due; Say, O spirit, brave and true, That He may depend on you". God's covenants to Israel were majorly earthly and therefore, their warfares to possess their promises were physical. For the New Testament, the covenant is mostly spiritual and heavenly and therefore the warfares of the New Testament saints are spiritual. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal..."* (2 Corinthians 10:4). Lessons on Old Testament physical warfares are meant to teach the New Testament saints some important features of spiritual warfare which is a major part of successful and victorious Christian living. Joshua and Israel faced formidable kings, fortified cities and numerous enemies, yet God gave them victory. Their exploits demonstrated that conquering faith rested on obedience to God's authority and instructions with perseverance until the battle was completely won. When faith is anchored in God, no enemy can ultimately withstand His purpose for His people. *1. Determined Destruction Accomplished* a. God had concluded from the time of Abraham that the Amorites would be obliterated when their iniquities reached the peak when God could no more tolerate them (Genesis 15:15,16; Exodus 34:11-13). The time now came to start possessing the land as promised, but they must fight for it, for it would not come on a platter of gold. All the promises of God have been paid for by the finished work of Jesus on the cross of Calvary. However, the adversary is always there to contest against those blessings and believers must be ready to contend and possess it as God has given us assurance of victory as legitimate owners of the blessings. Our Lord Himself said, *"the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent taketh it by force"* (Matthew 11:12). The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 were commended for their violence of faith, courage and determination as they fought spiritual warfares. The violence of believers is spiritual and had to do with violence and force of faith. Nobody will be able to possess his possessions here on earth and enter heaven eventually if he does not learn to be brave and violent in spiritual warfare against the flesh, fiends, faithlessness, fear and foolishness. b. Joshua did not leave unfinished what God had commanded him to accomplish. Hazor, the head of the northern kingdoms, was captured and destroyed and its king was put to death. The destruction was decisive because Joshua understood that partial obedience could jeopardize the victory God had promised. Conquering faith is determined faith—it does not retreat because the opposition is strong or the assignment is difficult. What God commands must be pursued with courage and perseverance. Joshua, with courageous faith, moved along the will and Word of God and destroyed those that God had condemned to destruction because they refused to repent. *Question* Are there areas of your life where God expects you to exercise determined faith and completely overcome persistent opposition? *2. Done According to the Divine Authority* a. The destruction of the Canaanites by Joshua in the text took about 7 years though it was recorded as if they all happened in rapidity. God had told them that they would conquer the land *"little by little"*. (Exodus 23:30, Deuteronomy 7:22). You don't expect those formidable enemies to be overcome without giving a strong fight and resistance. Spiritual wars, like the physical wars are at times protracted. In order to overcome the adversary, there is a need to maintain a persistent and untiring warfare disposition and attitude for Satan and his agents will not give up without a strong and persistent resistance. So, fight manfully onward and never give up but persist until you laugh last. God has destined and programmed you for total victory. The "little by little" approach also gave the Canaanites the opportunity to repent and seek for mercy like Rahab and her household and the Gibeonites did. Joshua acted according to the command of the LORD. Those who perished must have been adamant because it had been settled that Israel would destroy all of them just like Rahab confessed (Joshua 2:9-11). All those who perished perished because they chose to and not for lack of opportunity to repent. Rahab and her household, the Giebeonites and the Shechemites decided not to perish and they did not because they did the needful. Those people refused to repent, their hearts were hardened through rejection of mercy. This hardening of men’s hearts is when God gives man up to his sin after the person refused the mercy of God (Romans 1:24-28). b. How could Joshua have overcome? Israel was not trained in the art of warfare at the time. Second, Israel did not have horses and chariots to fight, whereas the Canaanites had in abundance. Yet, God told them that it was a battle of faith and therefore, they should not fear the better equipped and stronger adversaries. *"And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire"*. It was like the case of little David versus the giant Goliath. Spiritual battles, while doing the needful, do not look at the size and the arrogance of the adversaries. With faith in God, their horses and chariots will be defeated. *"Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God"* (Psalm 20:7). Can you imagine a poorly trained and inexperienced army of Israel defeating better trained coalition of nations in their multitudes with their horses and chariots? Obeying God's Word and instruction is always a guarantee of victory regardless of the might and the arsenal of the adversaries. Joshua did not depend on personal wisdom or military strength; he carried out God's instructions. Verse 15 emphasizes that Joshua did everything the LORD commanded Moses, and Moses had commanded Joshua. True exploits are accomplished under divine authority. Faith becomes powerful when it is joined with obedience. The victory was not merely Joshua's achievement; it was God's purpose being fulfilled through a yielded servant. We too must learn to follow God's Word even when His instructions challenge our natural reasoning. *Question* Are your decisions and actions being governed by God's Word and divine authority? *3. The Defeat of the Dreaded Adversaries* The Anakims were the most dreaded adversaries of Israel while they were in the wilderness. In fact, the spies (10 of them) sent said they were like grasshoppers compared to the Anakims (Numbers 13:27-33). It was the fear of those people that made Israel to be punished in the wilderness with 40 years of wandering and deaths. God delayed this fight to be their last fight so that Israel would have, from experience, learnt the art of warfare. They did not know that God had His own strategy of training them to be fit for the warfare against those terrorizing adversaries. When God gives a promise, don't look at your weakness and be asking how possible. God has His own plan to make you fit enough to deal with the enemy before He Himself takes over. "The Lord knows the way through the wilderness, all I have to do is to follow" and victory is certain. b. The promise of Deuteronomy 9:1–3, which specifically predicts the defeat of the fearsome Anakites, is fulfilled(Joshua 11:21–23). Those who once appeared invincible were overcome by the power of God. Joshua's victory teaches us that yesterday's giants need not determine today's destiny. Through conquering faith, intimidating obstacles can become testimonies of God's faithfulness. Finally, the land had rest from war. When God's people trust Him, obey His commands and persevere in faith, victory and divine rest become possible. *Question* What “giant” or dreaded adversary are you allowing to intimidate you instead of confronting it through faith in God? *Prayer Points* 1.Lord, give me conquering faith to overcome every persistent opposition standing against Your purpose for my life. 2.Father, help me to walk in complete obedience to Your Word and submit every decision to Your divine authority 🙏. 3.O Lord, bring down every giant and defeat every dreaded adversary confronting my progress, destiny and calling 🙏. 4.Father, grant Your children lasting victory and divine rest after every battle and let their lives become testimonies of Your mighty exploits 🙏. *HYMN:* May The Lord Depend On You. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* DANIEL 11-12. It is an inalienable deed that underpins God's dealings with fallible humankind, saved or unsaved. When all else fails, God's mercies will never fail.* *The Canaanites and other nations in the Promised Land engaged in battle against Joshua and the Israelites without seeking a peace agreement, despite their unfavourable position. In this chapter, Joshua faced a coalition of Canaanite forces, defeating them before turning his attention to the northern region. The city of Hazor was captured and burned, with its spoils taken by the Israelites. Joshua then advanced towards the hills and southern territories, continuing the conflict until the entirety of the land was subdued and allocated to the tribes of Israel. The account raises challenging questions regarding the nature of a loving God permitting such violence, particularly the killing of women and children. This narrative has sparked criticism towards the Scripture, leading to inquiries about the justness of these holy wars and casting doubt on divine benevolence, consequently perplexing many readers.* *The text emphasises that the people in the land repeatedly heard about God's actions but chose to resist and did not seek mercy, with the Gibeonites being the only exception, although through deceit. Instead of pursuing peace, they relied on military might, having engaged in idol worship and iniquity for centuries, including horrific sacrifices. Ultimately, God's judgment deemed it necessary to cleanse the land of those viewed as rebels and enemies, as the people were prepared to oppose Him rather than embrace His ways.* *No one can fight against God and expect to win. It is an effort in futility when we roll out our battle gear instead of pleading and repenting. God delights in mercy. He's not interested in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn to Him in repentance and live.     Track Your Purpose
    I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46
    If there is anything you must keep on the front burner of your heart, it is your purpose or life assignment. You need to track it by rehearsing, re-appraising, revising, re-focusing and announcing it constantly as the Lord Jesus did.
    Keeping your purpose in view powers you to easily predict the outcome of some steps you intend to take. Rehearsing it announces you easily among many. The Lord Jesus never stopped making all and sundry know His purpose for coming. Even Paul, who starts every of his epistles with what God has called him to do. Purpose stays in people’s memory more than personality. Purpose attracts preference. It was recognition of purpose that distinguished Daniel among his contemporaries. Purpose will power your life for outstanding performance. This is your day.
    Wisdom Fountain: "People with purpose walk with an air of distinction, as if they have a why in every step"
    Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for creating me with intention and a unique design. Lord, I ask that you sharpen my spiritual vision and clear away the noise in my life. Help me to track the path You have laid out for me before time began. Give me the wisdom to recognize my gifts, the courage to step out in faith, and the patience to trust Your perfect timing. Order my steps and let my life bring glory to Your name in Jesus' name.
  • NOTHING IS WASTED IN GOD’S HANDS!
    Everything you have gone through is not meaningless. The mountain, the valley, the breakthrough, the delay, the tears, the laughter—God can use it all for your becoming!
    Some seasons teach you through joy.
    Some lessons come through pain.
    Some doors close because God is preparing you for a better one.
    Some people leave because their assignment in your life is over.
    You may not understand everything now, but one day you will look back and say, “Indeed, God was in the process all along!”
    Your becoming is not an accident. It is a divine process. God is molding your character, strengthening your faith, deepening your roots, and preparing you for the purpose He has ordained for your life.
    So don't despise the process.
    Don't give up in the valley.
    Don't lose faith because of the delay.
    What looks like a setback may be a divine setup!
    What broke you may be what God uses to build you.
    What you thought was the end may become the beginning of your greatest testimony.
    Keep trusting God. Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep becoming.
    Your story is still being written, and the Author has not finished with you yet!
  • TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS:
    SERMON TOPIC:-
    WHEN GOD CLOSES A DOOR.
    Understanding Divine Closure, Redirection, and the Next Move of God.
    Key Scripture:
    Revelation 3:7 —
    “What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”
    There are times in life when you pray for a door to open, you believe God has answered, you prepare yourself to walk through it—and suddenly, the door closes.
    The job opportunity disappears.
    The relationship ends.
    The business deal fails.
    The application is rejected.
    The opportunity goes to someone else.
    The plan you prayed about does not work.
    And you ask, “God, why?”
    But here is a truth every believer must understand:
    A closed door is not always a sign of God's absence. Sometimes it is evidence of God's protection.
    We often celebrate God when He opens doors, but mature Christians must also learn to trust Him when He closes them.
    Sometimes God closes a door because what is behind it would destroy what He is building inside you.
    Sometimes God closes a door because the next chapter of your life requires you to leave the previous chapter behind.
    And sometimes God closes a door because He is preparing to open another one that you could never have opened for yourself.
    1. GOD CAN CLOSE A DOOR FOR YOUR PROTECTION
    Scripture: Proverbs 16:9
    «“A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”»
    There are things we desperately want because we can only see what is in front of us.
    But God sees what is beyond the door.
    You may see an opportunity.
    God may see a trap.
    You may see a relationship.
    God may see the pain it will produce.
    You may see a promotion.
    God may see the pride it could create.
    You may see a business opportunity.
    God may see the consequences you cannot yet see.
    Biblical Example:
    Balaam
    In Numbers 22, Balaam was travelling in a direction he thought was acceptable, but God placed an angel in his path.
    Balaam could not see the danger.
    His donkey could.
    What Balaam considered an obstacle was actually divine protection.
    Sometimes you are frustrated because something is blocking your way, while heaven is saying:
    “I am blocking this because I know what you don't know.”
    Don't curse every closed door.
    Some closed doors are mercy.
    2. GOD MAY CLOSE ONE DOOR TO REDIRECT YOU TO ANOTHER
    Scripture: Acts 16:6–10
    Paul and his companions wanted to preach in certain regions, but Scripture says:
    «“They were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.”»
    Then Paul received a vision of a man from Macedonia saying, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”
    Notice something powerful:
    Paul was doing God's work, yet God still closed a door.
    This teaches us that:
    A good idea is not necessarily a God idea for this particular season.
    You can be sincere and still be moving in the wrong direction.
    You can have a legitimate opportunity and still not have divine permission.
    You can pray, plan, prepare—and God can still say:
    “Not this way.”
    The closed door redirected Paul toward Macedonia, where God had prepared a greater assignment.
    Spiritual Insight
    Never allow disappointment to make you disobey divine direction.
    When God closes a door, ask:
    “Lord, where are You directing me?”
    Not merely:
    “Lord, why did You stop me?”
    3. A CLOSED DOOR DOES NOT MEAN A CLOSED FUTURE
    Scripture: Revelation 3:7
    «“What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.”»
    One closed door does not mean your entire future has been cancelled.
    David was rejected by his family.
    Joseph was rejected by his brothers.
    Moses experienced rejection before returning to Egypt.
    Paul experienced opposition throughout his ministry.
    Yet God's purpose for them continued.
    Remember this:
    A closed chapter is not a closed destiny.
    You may lose an opportunity without losing your purpose.
    You may lose a relationship without losing your future.
    You may lose a position without losing your calling.
    You may experience rejection without becoming rejected by God.
    The enemy wants you to interpret one disappointment as the conclusion of your entire story.
    But God says:
    “I am still writing.”
    4. SOMETIMES GOD CLOSES A DOOR BECAUSE YOU HAVE OUTGROWN THE ROOM
    Scripture:
    Isaiah 43:18–19
    «“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing.”»
    There are seasons you cannot enter while continuously holding onto the previous one.
    The children of Israel could not remain in Egypt forever.
    Ruth had to leave Moab.
    Abraham had to leave his father's house.
    The disciples had to leave their nets and follow Jesus.
    Growth requires movement.
    Sometimes the door closes because God is calling you forward.
    You keep asking God to reopen what He has already closed.
    But God may be saying:
    “Stop trying to return to where I am trying to take you from.”
    Some people are praying for restoration when God is offering transformation.
    Some are asking God to rebuild yesterday when God is preparing tomorrow.
    5. LEARN TO TRUST GOD WHEN YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND HIM
    Scripture: Romans 8:28
    «“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God.”»
    Notice that Scripture does not say everything that happens is good.
    It says God can work all things together for good.
    The rejection can become redirection.
    The disappointment can become development.
    The delay can become preparation.
    The closed door can become protection.
    The ending can become the beginning of something greater.
    Faith says:
    “God, I don't understand this, but I trust You.”
    That is mature faith.
    Anyone can praise God when everything is working.
    But there is a deeper level of worship when you can say:
    “Even when I don't understand Your decision, I still trust Your character.”
    BIBLICAL CASE STUDY:
    JOSEPH
    Joseph received a dream from God, but his journey did not immediately look like the dream.
    He was hated by his brothers.
    He was thrown into a pit.
    He was sold into slavery.
    He was falsely accused.
    He was imprisoned.
    Door after door seemed to close.
    But God was not abandoning Joseph.
    God was positioning Joseph.
    The pit was not the palace.
    The prison was not the promotion.
    The rejection was not the conclusion.
    Eventually, Joseph stood before Pharaoh.
    Genesis 50:20 captures the revelation:
    «“Ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good.”»
    What looked like destruction became divine positioning.
    Somebody needs to hear this:
    Your current closed door may be part of a larger story that you cannot see yet.
    Don't abandon God because you don't understand the chapter.
    Keep walking.
    Keep praying.
    Keep serving.
    Keep believing.
    The God who gave you the promise is still working on the process.
    DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS
    1. Not every closed door is an attack.
    Some are divine interventions.
    2. God's “NO” can be as loving as His “YES.”
    A parent who loves a child does not give the child everything they request.
    God is your Father.
    3. Timing matters.
    Something can be good but wrong for your present season.
    4. Never force what God has closed.
    When God closes a door, human manipulation cannot make it God's will.
    5. Look for God's presence beyond the door.
    Sometimes we become so focused on what we lost that we fail to notice where God is leading us.
    PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS
    When God closes a door:
    1. Don't panic.
    Take time to pray before making emotional decisions.
    2. Don't force it open.
    What God has closed does not need manipulation.
    3. Examine your heart.
    Ask whether the closure is correction, protection, preparation, or redirection.
    4. Seek God's Word.
    Don't interpret your circumstances without Scripture.
    5. Ask for direction.
    Pray: “Lord, show me what You want me to do next.”
    6. Keep moving.
    A closed door should not become an excuse to stop your entire life.
    7. Trust God's timing.
    What you cannot understand today may become clear tomorrow.
    QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION
    1. What closed door am I currently struggling to accept?
    2. Am I trying to force open something God may have closed?
    3. Could this disappointment actually be divine protection?
    4. What might God be redirecting me toward?
    5. Am I more committed to God's will or to my own plans?
    6. What lesson is God teaching me in this season?
    7. Can I still trust God even when I don't understand Him?
    POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS
    1.
    Father, give me the grace to recognize when You are closing a door for my protection.
    2.
    Lord, deliver me from forcing doors that You have closed.
    3.
    Father, when one door closes, give me spiritual eyes to see the door You are opening.
    4.
    Lord, heal every disappointment caused by rejection, delay, and closed opportunities.
    5.
    Father, redirect my steps into Your perfect will.
    6.
    Every door that must remain closed for my protection, give me the grace to leave it closed.
    7.
    Lord, open the doors that align with Your purpose for my life.
    8.
    Father, strengthen my faith when I cannot understand what You are doing.
    9.
    Every good thing You have ordained for my life, let no power of darkness permanently hinder it.
    10.
    Lord Jesus, let my life become a testimony that even through closed doors, You were working for my good.
    CALL TO ACTION
    Beloved, don't spend the rest of your life standing in front of a door God has already closed.
    There is a time to knock.
    There is a time to wait.
    There is also a time to walk away.
    If God closed it, trust Him.
    If God blocked it, thank Him.
    If God redirected you, follow Him.
    If God is preparing another door, wait for Him.
    You may not understand the closure today.
    But one day you may look back and say:
    “Thank God that door did not open.”
    The door you are crying over today may be the very door God closed because He saw something you could not see.
    So dry your tears.
    Strengthen your faith.
    Lift your eyes.
    Your story is not over.
    There is still purpose.
    There is still grace.
    There is still a future.
    And there are doors that only God can open.
    DECLARE BY FAITH:
    “I will not die at a closed door.
    I will not force what God has closed.
    I will not allow rejection to destroy my faith.
    I will trust God's direction.
    I will follow His purpose.
    And when my appointed door opens, no man will be able to shut it!”
    In Jesus' mighty name. Amen!
    TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC:- WHEN GOD CLOSES A DOOR. Understanding Divine Closure, Redirection, and the Next Move of God. Key Scripture: Revelation 3:7 — “What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.” There are times in life when you pray for a door to open, you believe God has answered, you prepare yourself to walk through it—and suddenly, the door closes. The job opportunity disappears. The relationship ends. The business deal fails. The application is rejected. The opportunity goes to someone else. The plan you prayed about does not work. And you ask, “God, why?” But here is a truth every believer must understand: A closed door is not always a sign of God's absence. Sometimes it is evidence of God's protection. We often celebrate God when He opens doors, but mature Christians must also learn to trust Him when He closes them. Sometimes God closes a door because what is behind it would destroy what He is building inside you. Sometimes God closes a door because the next chapter of your life requires you to leave the previous chapter behind. And sometimes God closes a door because He is preparing to open another one that you could never have opened for yourself. 1. GOD CAN CLOSE A DOOR FOR YOUR PROTECTION Scripture: Proverbs 16:9 «“A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.”» There are things we desperately want because we can only see what is in front of us. But God sees what is beyond the door. You may see an opportunity. God may see a trap. You may see a relationship. God may see the pain it will produce. You may see a promotion. God may see the pride it could create. You may see a business opportunity. God may see the consequences you cannot yet see. Biblical Example: Balaam In Numbers 22, Balaam was travelling in a direction he thought was acceptable, but God placed an angel in his path. Balaam could not see the danger. His donkey could. What Balaam considered an obstacle was actually divine protection. Sometimes you are frustrated because something is blocking your way, while heaven is saying: “I am blocking this because I know what you don't know.” Don't curse every closed door. Some closed doors are mercy. 2. GOD MAY CLOSE ONE DOOR TO REDIRECT YOU TO ANOTHER Scripture: Acts 16:6–10 Paul and his companions wanted to preach in certain regions, but Scripture says: «“They were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia.”» Then Paul received a vision of a man from Macedonia saying, “Come over into Macedonia, and help us.” Notice something powerful: Paul was doing God's work, yet God still closed a door. You can have a legitimate opportunity and still not have divine permission. Spiritual Insight Never allow disappointment to make you disobey divine direction. When God closes a door, ask: “Lord, where are You directing me?” Not merely: “Lord, why did You stop me?” 3.   • You Were Born to Win
    Before you ever drew a breath — before you had a name, a face, or a single memory — you had already won.
    That's not a metaphor. It's biology, and it's the starting point for one of the most important truths.
    Your capacity for success didn't begin the day you set a goal or landed your first job. It began before you were even conceived.
    Consider what happened at your conception. The sperm carrying half of your genetic identity didn't simply arrive — it competed against millions of others in a race for a single prize: the egg that would complete you. Out of that vast field of competitors, one crossed the finish line. That one was you.
    Your winning formula and your capacity for success began before you were even conceived." Before you had any say in the matter, you were already proof that you were built to overcome odds, not just survive them.
    It's your foundation. If your very existence is the result of victory, then struggle and competition were never foreign to your design. They were the terms you arrived under.
    So why does this matter now, decades removed from that biological starting line?
    Because it reframes everything about your presence on earth.
    You are not here by accident, and you're not here merely to occupy space and time. You are here — "to overcome the challenges and crises on planet earth, and to come out victorious in your purpose and assignment in life."
    Every person carries an assignment. Every season carries a crisis to move through, not around.
    The question was never whether you'd face resistance — you were born out of it. The question is whether you'll recognize what you were built for and move toward it with the same determination that got you here in the first place.
    Perhaps the most freeing idea about success, one that has nothing to do with net worth, titles, or applause.
    "Success is doing everything you were designed to do in time, and moving on to the next life with the assurance that you have secured your afterlife with God the Creator."
    That's a radically different scoreboard than the one most of us are handed by culture.Success, isn't measured by comparison to someone else's life. It's measured by faithfulness to your own design — and by the eternal certainty that comes from a settled relationship with your Creator.
    This is where the book " To Live and Then Live" draws its title full circle.
    To live is to walk out your purpose here, in time, with intention.
    To then live is what follows — the assurance of life beyond this one, secured not by achievement but by relationship with God.
    Here this!
    You didn't arrive here by chance, and you weren't designed for a mediocre or accidental life. You were formed in victory, placed in time on purpose, and given an assignment only you can complete.
    Stop living as though survival is the goal. You were designed for more. You were designed to win.
    TITLE: "EQUIPPED BY GOD'S WORD, PERFECTED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK"
    ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S)
    2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV) "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
    Hebrews 13:20–21 (KJV) "Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
    QUOTE TO REFLECT ON
    "God's Word equips us, and God's grace enables us to fulfil His will."
    DAY'S REFLECTION
    God has not called us to live the Christian life without guidance or spiritual equipment. He has given us His Word and His grace to shape our character, direct our lives, and prepare us for good works.
    Paul declares in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God." This means Scripture comes from God and carries divine authority. It is profitable—useful and beneficial—for every area of spiritual development.
    The Word provides doctrine, teaching us what is true. It brings reproof, showing us when we are going wrong. It brings correction, helping us get back on the right path. It provides instruction in righteousness, teaching us how to live in a way that pleases God.
    Verse 17 says that the purpose is that the servant of God may be "perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." Here, perfect carries the idea of being complete or mature, while throughly furnished means fully equipped or prepared. God does not give us His Word merely so that we can gain biblical knowledge; He gives it to prepare us for practical Christian living and service.
    Hebrews 13:20–21 adds another important truth. The God of peace is actively working in His people, making them ready "to do his will." The phrase "working in you" reminds us that spiritual growth is not achieved by human effort alone. God works within us through Christ, shaping our desires, strengthening our character, and enabling us to do what pleases Him.
    This gives us a beautiful partnership: God's Word teaches us what to do, and God's grace enables us to do it.
    Life experience shows that having instructions is not enough; we must apply them. A person can own a Bible and still fail to experience transformation if the Word is not read, believed, obeyed, and practised. Likewise, we may have good intentions but need God's strength to carry them out consistently.
    Therefore, make God's Word part of your daily life. Read it, meditate upon it, receive its correction, and practise its instructions. At the same time, depend on God's grace rather than your own strength.
    God is still working in you. He is equipping you for the assignment He has given you and preparing you for every good work.
    MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S)
    Psalm 119:105 (KJV) "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
    Philippians 2:13 (KJV) "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
    LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS)
    1. God's Word is inspired and profitable for every aspect of Christian growth.
    2. Scripture teaches, corrects, disciplines, and equips us for righteous living.
    3. Spiritual maturity involves putting God's Word into practice.
    4. God works within us to enable us to fulfil His will.
    5. We should depend on God's grace rather than human strength alone.
    6. Every believer is called and equipped for good works that glorify God.
    EVERYDAY ACTION
    Read God's Word today, obey one truth it teaches, and ask God to help you put it into practice.
    PRAYER
    Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Your grace. Teach me, correct me, equip me, and work in me so that I may fulfil Your will and abound in every good work. In Jesus' name, Amen.
    DECLARATION
    I am equipped by God's Word and strengthened by His grace. The Lord is working in me to fulfil His will. I am prepared for every good work, and my life will be pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. Amen.
Amen." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "God's Word equips us, and God's grace enables us to fulfil His will." DAY'S REFLECTION God has not called us to live the Christian life without guidance or spiritual equipment. He has given us His Word and His grace to shape our character, direct our lives, and prepare us for good works. Paul declares in 2 Timothy 3:16 that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God." This means Scripture comes from God and carries divine authority. It is profitable—useful and beneficial—for every area of spiritual development. The Word provides doctrine, teaching us what is true. It brings reproof, showing us when we are going wrong. It brings correction, helping us get back on the right path. It provides instruction in righteousness, teaching us how to live in a way that pleases God. Verse 17 says that the purpose is that the servant of God may be "perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." Here, perfect carries the idea of being complete or mature, while throughly furnished means fully equipped or prepared. God does not give us His Word merely so that we can gain biblical knowledge; He gives it to prepare us for practical Christian living and service. Hebrews 13:20–21 adds another important truth. The God of peace is actively working in His people, making them ready "to do his will." The phrase "working in you" reminds us that spiritual growth is not achieved by human effort alone. God works within us through Christ, shaping our desires, strengthening our character, and enabling us to do what pleases Him. This gives us a beautiful partnership: God's Word teaches us what to do, and God's grace enables us to do it. Life experience shows that having instructions is not enough; we must apply them. A person can own a Bible and still fail to experience transformation if the Word is not read, believed, obeyed, and practised. Likewise, we may have good intentions but need God's strength to carry them out consistently. Therefore, make God's Word part of your daily life. Read it, meditate upon it, receive its correction, and practise its instructions. At the same time, depend on God's grace rather than your own strength. God is still working in you. He is equipping you for the assignment He has given you and preparing you for every good work. MEDITATION SCRIPTURE(S) Psalm 119:105 (KJV) "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Philippians 2:13 (KJV) "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." LIFE LESSONS (IMPLICATIONS) 1. God's Word is inspired and profitable for every aspect of Christian growth. 2. Scripture teaches, corrects, disciplines, and equips us for righteous living. 3. Spiritual maturity involves putting God's Word into practice. 4. God works within us to enable us to fulfil His will. 5. We should depend on God's grace rather than human strength alone. 6. Every believer is called and equipped for good works that glorify God. EVERYDAY ACTION Read God's Word today, obey one truth it teaches, and ask God to help you put it into practice. PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and Your grace. Teach me, correct me, equip me, and work in me so that I may fulfil Your will and abound in every good work. In Jesus' name, Amen. DECLARATION I am equipped by God's Word and strengthened by His grace. The Lord is working in me to fulfil His will. I am prepared for every good work, and my life will be pleasing to God through Jesus Christ. Amen. Devotion by Rev.
