  • Daily Devotion — April 27 | Mark 6:20 (NKJV)

Hearing the Truth but Not Following It

Mark chapter 6 tells the story of John the Baptist confronting King Herod about his sinful relationship with Herodias. John spoke the truth boldly, even though it placed him in danger. Because of this, Herod had John arrested and imprisoned.

Yet this verse reveals something interesting about Herod’s attitude toward John. He feared John because he recognized that he was a righteous and holy man. Herod even protected him and enjoyed listening to him speak. The truth of God’s Word stirred something within him.

However, respect for truth is not the same as obedience to truth. Although Herod listened to John gladly, he never allowed the message to truly transform his life. His heart remained divided between conviction and the pressure of his own desires and circumstances.

This moment reminds us that hearing God’s Word is only the first step. True faith requires responding to that truth with obedience. It is possible to admire spiritual teaching, appreciate biblical wisdom, and even feel conviction, yet still resist the change God is calling for.

For believers today this verse challenges us to examine how we respond to God’s Word. The goal is not simply to hear it or appreciate it, but to allow it to shape our decisions, our character, and our lives.

God’s truth is meant to transform the heart, not just inform the mind.

    Reflection Questions

    1. Am I merely listening to God’s Word or actively obeying it

    2. Are there areas where I feel conviction but have not responded with change

    3. How can I allow God’s truth to shape my daily decisions

    Prayer

Lord God thank You for speaking truth through Your Word. Help me not only to hear it but to obey it. Give me courage to respond to Your conviction and to align my life with Your will. In Jesus name Amen.

    Practical Application

    ● Reflect on one truth from Scripture and put it into practice today

    ● Ask God for courage to obey even when it is difficult

    ● Allow conviction to lead to action rather than delay

    Takeaway Thought

God’s Word is meant to be lived out. True faith moves from hearing the truth to obeying it.

  • The Danger of Walking Outside God’s Grace

Grace is God’s unearned favor—His divine help that empowers us to live, grow, and overcome.

Walking in God’s grace means living under His covering, guidance, and strength.

But when a person steps outside that grace, they expose themselves to spiritual danger, failure, and separation from God.

    1. What Does It Mean to Walk Outside God’s Grace?

To walk outside God’s grace is to:

Live in disobedience to His Word

Depend on self instead of God

Ignore the leading of the Holy Spirit

    Continue in sin without repentance

“Without me ye can do nothing” — John 15:5

When grace is absent, human effort becomes powerless.

    2. The Dangers of Walking Outside God’s Grace

    A. Spiritual Weakness and Failure
When grace is withdrawn, strength disappears.

Romans 6:14 — “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.”

    Without grace, sin gains control.

    B. Loss of Divine Protection
God’s grace acts as a shield. Outside it, you become vulnerable.

Genesis 6:3 — “My spirit shall not always strive with man…”

When God withdraws His striving Spirit, danger increases.

    C. Open Door to Sin and Bondage
Grace empowers righteousness. Without it, sin multiplies.

Hebrews 12:15 — “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God…”

Failing grace leads to bitterness and corruption.

    D. Separation from God
Walking outside grace leads to spiritual distance.

2 Corinthians 6:1 — “Receive not the grace of God in vain.”

Grace can be ignored or wasted.

    E. Frustration and Unfruitfulness
Life becomes difficult and empty without grace.

John 15:5 — “He that abideth in me… bringeth forth much fruit.”

    No grace = no fruit.

    3. Biblical Examples of People Who Walked Outside Grace

    A. Samson
Lost his strength when he disobeyed God

Grace departed, and enemies captured him
    (Judges 16:20)

    B. Saul
    Disobeyed God repeatedly

Lost divine favor and was rejected
    (1 Samuel 16:14)

    C. Judas Iscariot
Walked with Jesus but fell into betrayal

    Lost grace and ended tragically
    (Matthew 27:5)

    4. Signs You Are Walking Outside God’s Grace

    Loss of spiritual hunger

    Constant struggle with sin

    Disconnection from God’s presence

    Persistent frustration and dryness

Ignoring conviction of the Holy Spirit

    5. How to Remain in God’s Grace

    A. Stay Connected to God
    John 15:4 — “Abide in me…”

    B. Live in Obedience
Grace flows where there is submission.

    C. Depend on God Daily
Not by strength, but by grace.

    D. Repent Quickly
    Return immediately when you fall.

    E. Grow in the Word and Prayer
    Grace increases with spiritual discipline.

    6. The Power of Grace
2 Corinthians 12:9 — “My grace is sufficient for thee…”

    God’s grace:

    Sustains you

    Strengthens you

    Restores you

    Empowers you

    Conclusion

Walking outside God’s grace is dangerous—it leads to weakness, sin, and separation. But remaining in His grace brings strength, protection, and fruitfulness.

God’s grace is available, but it must be valued, protected, and maintained.

    Call to Action
    Examine your life today

Return to God if you have drifted

Ask for fresh grace to walk with Him

    Prayer
“Lord, help me never to walk outside Your grace. Strengthen me to remain in You, to obey You, and to depend on You daily. Let Your grace be sufficient in every area of my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

  • BIBLE STUDY — February 28 |Leviticus Chapter 27

    INTRODUCTION

Leviticus 27 concludes the book by addressing vows, dedications, and what it means to belong fully to the LORD. After laying out God’s laws for holiness, worship, justice, and obedience, this chapter focuses on voluntary commitments people make to God. It teaches that God takes vows seriously, that everything dedicated to Him is holy, and that faithfulness includes integrity, stewardship, and reverence. For believers today, this chapter reminds us that our lives, resources, and promises belong to the Lord, and that God values obedience from the heart.

    Context Summary

Israel is still at Mount Sinai. God has already established His covenant, priesthood, sacrifices, feasts, and
moral laws. Chapter 27 addresses freewill vows, not required offerings. These vows involved dedicating
people, animals, houses, land, and tithes to the LORD. God provides clear instructions to prevent manipulation, emotional pledges, or dishonesty. The chapter emphasizes that God is holy, ownership ultimately belongs to Him, and devotion must be handled with seriousness and integrity.

    Verse-by-Verse Teaching

    Leviticus 27:1

Now the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

Teaching: God is the source of these instructions, not human tradition.

Application: True worship begins by listening to God’s Word, not personal opinion.

    Leviticus 27:2

Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: When a man consecrates by a vow certain persons to the LORD, according to your valuation,

Teaching: Vows are voluntary acts of dedication to God.

Application: Commitments to God should be intentional, not impulsive.

    Leviticus 27:3

if your valuation is of a male from twenty years old up to sixty years old, then your valuation shall be fifty shekels of silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

Teaching: God establishes fair, standardized values.

Application: God values order, fairness, and accountability in devotion.

    Leviticus 27:4

    If it is a female, then your valuation shall be thirty shekels;

Teaching: Valuations reflected economic roles in ancient Israel, not personal worth.

Application: Human value is not measured by money but by God’s purpose.

    Leviticus 27:5

    and if from five years old up to twenty years old, then your valuation for a male shall be twenty shekels, and for a female ten shekels;

Teaching: Age was considered in vows.

Application: God acknowledges different stages of life in responsibility.

    Leviticus 27:6

and if from a month old up to five years old, then your valuation for a male shall be five shekels of silver,
    and for a female your valuation shall be three shekels of silver;

Teaching: Even children could be included in vows.

Application: Families are included in worship and dedication to God.

    Leviticus 27:7

and if from sixty years old and above, if it is a male, then your valuation shall be fifteen shekels, and for
    a female ten shekels.

Teaching: Older age is honored but valued differently in service capacity.

Application: Every season of life matters to God.

    Leviticus 27:8

But if he is too poor to pay your valuation, then he shall present himself before the priest, and the priest
shall set a value for him; according to the ability of him who vowed, the priest shall value him.

Teaching: God makes provision for the poor.

Application: God values the heart more than the amount given.

    Leviticus 27:9

If it is an animal that men may bring as an offering to the LORD, all that anyone gives to the LORD shall be holy.

Teaching: What is given to God belongs fully to Him.

Application: Once we give something to God, we should not reclaim it lightly.

    Leviticus 27:10

He shall not substitute it or exchange it, good for bad or bad for good; and if he at all exchanges animal
for animal, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy.

Teaching: God forbids manipulation of vows.

Application: Integrity matters in our commitments to God.

    Leviticus 27:11

If it is an unclean animal which they do not offer as a sacrifice to the LORD, then he shall present the
    animal before the priest;

Teaching: Even non-sacrificial items required proper handling.

Application: God cares about how everything dedicated to Him is treated.

    Leviticus 27:12

and the priest shall set a value for it, whether it is good or bad; as you, the priest, value it, so it shall be.

Teaching: God entrusts spiritual leaders with discernment.

Application: God values accountability in leadership.

    Leviticus 27:13

But if he wants at all to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth to your valuation.

    Teaching: Redemption carries cost.

Application: Taking back what we give to God should never be cheap or casual.

    Leviticus 27:14

And when a man dedicates his house to be holy to the LORD, then the priest shall set a value for it,
whether it is good or bad; as the priest values it, so it shall stand.

Teaching: Homes can be dedicated to God.

Application: Our homes should honor the Lord.

    Leviticus 27:15

If he who dedicated it wants to redeem his house, then he must add one-fifth of the money of your

valuation to it, and it shall be his.

    Teaching: Commitment involves responsibility.

Application: God expects seriousness in promises.

    Leviticus 27:16

If a man dedicates to the LORD part of a field of his possession, then your valuation shall be according to the seed for it. A homer of barley seed shall be valued at fifty shekels of silver.

Teaching: God values productivity and provision.

Application: Our work and income belong to God.

    Leviticus 27:17

If he dedicates his field from the Year of Jubilee, according to your valuation it shall stand.

    Teaching: Timing matters in dedication.

Application: God honors faithfulness over time.

    Leviticus 27:18

But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money due according to the years that remain till the Year of Jubilee, and it shall be deducted from your valuation.

Teaching: God’s system is fair and just.

Application: God values honesty in financial dealings.

    Leviticus 27:19

And if he who dedicates the field ever wishes to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth of the money of
your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him.

    Teaching: Redemption requires sacrifice.

Application: God teaches responsibility in decisions.

    Leviticus 27:20

But if he does not want to redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be
    redeemed anymore;

    Teaching: Some decisions are final.

Application: Commitments to God should not be made lightly.

    Leviticus 27:21

but the field, when it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a devoted field; it shall be
    the possession of the priest.

Teaching: God provides for His servants.

    Application: God honors faithful service.

    Leviticus 27:22

And if a man dedicates to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not the field of his possession,

Teaching: God distinguishes between inheritance and purchase.

    Application: God recognizes rightful ownership.

    Leviticus 27:23

then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation, up to the Year of Jubilee, and he shall
give your valuation on that day as a holy offering to the LORD.

Teaching: Dedication is measured with fairness.

    Application: God values transparency.

    Leviticus 27:24

In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to the one who owned the land as a possession.

Teaching: God restores what belongs to families.

Application: God is a God of restoration.

    Leviticus 27:25

And all your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel.

    Teaching: God sets the standard.

Application: God’s standards are not flexible.

    Leviticus 27:26

But the firstborn of the animals, which should be the LORD’s firstborn, no man shall dedicate; whether it is an ox or sheep, it is the LORD’s.

Teaching: Some things already belong to God.

    Application: God deserves first place.

    Leviticus 27:27

And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according to your valuation, and shall add one-fifth to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation.

Teaching: God provides order even for exceptions.

Application: God values obedience even in details.

    Leviticus 27:28

Nevertheless no devoted offering that a man may devote to the LORD of all that he has, both man and beast, or the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is most holy to
    the LORD.

    Teaching: Some offerings are permanent.

Application: Total surrender belongs fully to God.

    Leviticus 27:29

No person under the ban, who may become doomed to destruction among men, shall be redeemed,
but shall surely be put to death.

Teaching: God’s judgment is serious and final.

    Application: Sin has real consequences.

    Leviticus 27:30

And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is
    holy to the LORD.

    Teaching: Tithes belong to God.

    Application: Giving honors God’s ownership.

    Leviticus 27:31

If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one-fifth to it.

Teaching: God discourages reclaiming what is given.

Application: Giving should be joyful, not reluctant.

    Leviticus 27:32

And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall
    be holy to the LORD.

    Teaching: God chooses, not man.

Application: God deserves our best, not leftovers.

    Leviticus 27:33

He shall not inquire whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; and if he exchanges it at all, then
both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed.

    Teaching: God forbids manipulation.

    Application: Obedience requires trust.

    Leviticus 27:34

These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount
    Sinai.

Teaching: God’s law is complete and authoritative.

Application: God’s Word is final and trustworthy.

    Conclusion

Leviticus 27 teaches that God takes dedication seriously. Vows, tithes, and offerings are not casual promises but holy commitments. This chapter reminds believers that everything we have belongs to the Lord, and that obedience, integrity, and reverence honor Him. Today, while we no longer follow these ceremonial laws, the principle remains: God desires faithful hearts that honor Him fully in every area of life.

Leviticus 27:18 But if he dedicates his field after the Jubilee, then the priest shall reckon to him the money due according to the years that remain till the Year of Jubilee, and it shall be deducted from your valuation. Teaching: God’s system is fair and just. Application: God values honesty in financial dealings. Leviticus 27:19 And if he who dedicates the field ever wishes to redeem it, then he must add one-fifth of the money of your valuation to it, and it shall belong to him. Teaching: Redemption requires sacrifice. Application: God teaches responsibility in decisions. Leviticus 27:20 But if he does not want to redeem the field, or if he has sold the field to another man, it shall not be redeemed anymore; Teaching: Some decisions are final. Application: Commitments to God should not be made lightly. Leviticus 27:21 but the field, when it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a devoted field; it shall be the possession of the priest. Teaching: God provides for His servants. Application: God honors faithful service. Leviticus 27:22 And if a man dedicates to the LORD a field which he has bought, which is not the field of his possession, Teaching: God distinguishes between inheritance and purchase. Application: God recognizes rightful ownership. Leviticus 27:23 then the priest shall reckon to him the worth of your valuation, up to the Year of Jubilee, and he shall give your valuation on that day as a holy offering to the LORD. Teaching: Dedication is measured with fairness. Application: God values transparency. Leviticus 27:24 In the Year of Jubilee the field shall return to him from whom it was bought, to the one who owned the land as a possession. Teaching: God restores what belongs to families. Application: God is a God of restoration. Leviticus 27:25 And all your valuations shall be according to the shekel of the sanctuary: twenty gerahs to the shekel. Teaching: God sets the standard. Application: God’s standards are not flexible. Leviticus 27:26 But the firstborn of the animals, which should be the LORD’s firstborn, no man shall dedicate; whether it is an ox or sheep, it is the LORD’s. Teaching: Some things already belong to God. Application: God deserves first place. Leviticus 27:27 And if it is an unclean animal, then he shall redeem it according to your valuation, and shall add one-fifth to it; or if it is not redeemed, then it shall be sold according to your valuation. Teaching: God provides order even for exceptions. Application: God values obedience even in details. Leviticus 27:28 Nevertheless no devoted offering that a man may devote to the LORD of all that he has, both man and beast, or the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is most holy to the LORD. Teaching: Some offerings are permanent. Application: Total surrender belongs fully to God. Leviticus 27:29 No person under the ban, who may become doomed to destruction among men, shall be redeemed, but shall surely be put to death. Teaching: God’s judgment is serious and final. Application: Sin has real consequences. Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD’s. It is holy to the LORD. Teaching: Tithes belong to God. Application: Giving honors God’s ownership. Leviticus 27:31 If a man wants at all to redeem any of his tithes, he shall add one-fifth to it. Teaching: God discourages reclaiming what is given. Application: Giving should be joyful, not reluctant. Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD. Teaching: God chooses, not man. Application: God deserves our best, not leftovers. Leviticus 27:33 He shall not inquire whether it is good or bad, nor shall he exchange it; and if he exchanges it at all, then both it and the one exchanged for it shall be holy; it shall not be redeemed. Teaching: God forbids manipulation. Application: Obedience requires trust. Leviticus 27:34 These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai. Teaching: God’s law is complete and authoritative. Application: God’s Word is final and trustworthy. Conclusion Leviticus 27 teaches that God takes dedication seriously. #LordsbookDailys #ThroughTheBible #Leviticus27 #BibleStudy #DevotedToGod #FaithfulStewardship #HolyLiving #GetInTheWord #FaithOnline #ChristianCommunity

  • BIBLE STUDY — February 7 | Leviticus Chapter 6

    Introduction

Leviticus chapter 6 continues God’s detailed instructions concerning offerings, but with a shift in focus. While earlier chapters explained how the people were to bring offerings, this chapter emphasizes the responsibility of the priests and the heart behind obedience. God shows that worship is not only about outward rituals but about faithfulness, integrity, and reverence in daily life.

This chapter also addresses sins involving dishonesty, restitution, and responsibility, reminding God’s
people that spiritual life and ethical behavior are inseparable. Leviticus 6 teaches that God cares deeply about how His people treat one another and how His servants handle holy things.

    Context Summary

Leviticus chapter 6 highlights three major truths: personal accountability for sin, the seriousness of
restitution, and the ongoing responsibility of spiritual leadership.

First, God addresses situations where a person sins by deceiving or wronging another individual. The chapter makes it clear that sin against people is also sin against God. True repentance requires more than confession—it requires restoring what was taken and making things right. This teaches that God values justice, honesty, and reconciliation.

Next, the chapter outlines specific instructions for priests regarding the burnt offering, grain offering, and sin offering. These offerings were to be handled with care, consistency, and purity. The priests were responsible for maintaining the fire on the altar continually, symbolizing unceasing devotion and constant worship before the Lord.

Finally, Leviticus 6 emphasizes that those who serve God must do so with discipline, humility, and
obedience. Sacred responsibilities were not casual tasks; they required attentiveness and respect for God’s holiness. This reinforces the truth that leadership before God carries greater accountability.

    VERSE-BY-VERSE TEACHING (NKJV)

    Leviticus 6:1

And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:

Teaching: God continues personally instructing Israel, showing that these laws come directly from Him.

Application: God still speaks through His Word today and expects us to listen.

    Leviticus 6:2

If a person sins and commits a trespass against the LORD by lying to his neighbor about what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or about a pledge, or about a robbery, or if he has extorted from his neighbor,

Teaching: Sin against people is also sin against God. Dishonesty and exploitation are taken seriously.

Application: Integrity in relationships honors God.

    Leviticus 6:3

or if he has found what was lost and lies concerning it, and swears falsely—in any one of these things that a man may do in which he sins:

Teaching: Keeping what does not belong to us is sinful, even if it seems unnoticed.

Application: God calls us to honesty even when no one else is watching.

    Leviticus 6:4

then it shall be, because he has sinned and is guilty, that he shall restore what he has stolen, or the thing which he has extorted, or what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or the lost thing which he found,

Teaching: Repentance requires action, not just words.

Application: Making things right is part of genuine repentance.

    Leviticus 6:5

or all that about which he has sworn falsely. He shall restore its full value, add one-fifth more to it, and give it to whomever it belongs, on the day of his trespass offering.

Teaching: God requires restitution plus added compensation.

Application: True repentance goes beyond apology to restoration.

    Leviticus 6:6

And he shall bring his trespass offering to the LORD, a ram without blemish from the flock, with your valuation, as a trespass offering, to the priest.

    Teaching: Forgiveness still requires sacrifice.

Application: Sin always has a cost, but God provides the way.

    Leviticus 6:7

So the priest shall make atonement for him before the LORD, and he shall be forgiven for any one of these things that he may have done in which he trespasses.

  • Grief of the Holy Spirit

One of the greatest blessings of the Christian life is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.

He is our Comforter, our Guide, our Teacher, and the Seal of our salvation.

Yet Scripture warns us that the Holy Spirit can be grieved by the people He lives in.

    Ephesians 4:30

“And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”

To grieve means to cause sorrow, sadness, or pain. This means the Holy Spirit is not a feeling or a force—He is a Person with emotions. When we act contrary to His nature, we bring Him grief.

    I. WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Before understanding how He is grieved, we must know who He is:

    1. He is the Spirit of Truth
John 16:13 — “He will guide you into all truth.”

    2. He is the Comforter
John 14:26 — “But the Comforter… shall teach you all things.”

    3. He is the Seal of Our Salvation
Ephesians 1:13 — He marks us as God’s own.

Because He is holy, whatever contradicts His nature brings Him sorrow.

II. WHAT GRIEVES THE HOLY SPIRIT?

    1. Sinful Behavior (Actions of the Flesh)

    * The Holy Spirit is grieved when believers live in sin:

    * Bitterness

    * Anger

    * Unforgiveness

    * Malice

    * Corrupt speech

Ephesians 4:31 — “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you.”

These behaviors contradict the fruit He is trying to produce in us (Galatians 5:22–23).

    2. Disobedience to His Voice

When the Holy Spirit prompts you to pray, forgive, give, witness, or flee temptation—and you refuse—He is grieved.

Isaiah 63:10 — “But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit…”

    Delayed obedience is disobedience.

    3. Lack of Love and Unity

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of love and unity. When believers fight, gossip, compete, and tear each other down, He is grieved.

1 John 4:20 — “He who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God…”

    4. Rejecting the Word of God

The Spirit authored the Word (2 Timothy 3:16). When we neglect Scripture or choose culture over truth, He is grieved.

    5. Hypocrisy and Insincerity.

Acts 5:3 — Peter said to Ananias, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?”

The Holy Spirit is grieved by falsehood, pretense, and fake spirituality.

III. SIGNS THAT A BELIEVER IS GRIEVING THE SPIRIT

When the Holy Spirit is grieved, certain signs begin to appear:

    1. Loss of Joy
Psalm 51:12 — “Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation.”

    2. Weakness in Prayer
Romans 8:26 — The Spirit helps us pray. When we grieve Him, prayer becomes dry.

    3. Lack of Sensitivity to God
Things that once convicted you no longer bother you.

    4. No passion for the Word or worship
These are warning lights calling us back to repentance.

IV. HOW TO STOP GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT

    1. Repent Quickly
Acts 3:19 — “Repent therefore, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

    2. Walk in Love
Ephesians 4:32 — “Be kind… forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Love restores fellowship with the Spirit.

    3. Obey His Voice Promptly
1 Samuel 15:22 — “Obedience is better than sacrifice.”

Listen when He convicts, leads, or warns.

    4. Feed Your Spirit Daily
A Holy-Spirit-filled life is sustained by Word, Worship, and Prayer.

    5. Pursue Holiness
Hebrews 12:14 — “Without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

Holiness keeps your heart tender toward God.

    V. THE BLESSINGS OF NOT GRIEVING THE SPIRIT

When the Holy Spirit is pleased with your life:

    Your spiritual gifts flourish

    You experience deep peace

    Your prayers carry power

    You hear His voice clearly

    Heaven backs your assignment

Romans 8:14 — “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.”

    CONCLUSION
The Holy Spirit lives in you.
    He walks with you.
    He desires fellowship with you.

Do not break His heart—honor Him with your lifestyle.

Ephesians 4:30 is not a warning from anger but from love. The Spirit desires to bring you into the fullness of God’s plan, but He can only guide a surrendered heart.

    Today, ask Him:
“Holy Spirit, help me to live in a way that brings You joy, not grief.”

Rejecting the Word of God The Spirit authored the Word (2 Timothy 3:16). When we neglect Scripture or choose culture over truth, He is grieved. 5. Hypocrisy and Insincerity. Acts 5:3 — Peter said to Ananias, “Why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit?” The Holy Spirit is grieved by falsehood, pretense, and fake spirituality. III. SIGNS THAT A BELIEVER IS GRIEVING THE SPIRIT When the Holy Spirit is grieved, certain signs begin to appear: 1. Loss of Joy Psalm 51:12 — “Restore unto me the joy of Your salvation.” 2. Weakness in Prayer Romans 8:26 — The Spirit helps us pray. When we grieve Him, prayer becomes dry. 3. Lack of Sensitivity to God Things that once convicted you no longer bother you. 4. No passion for the Word or worship These are warning lights calling us back to repentance. IV. HOW TO STOP GRIEVING THE HOLY SPIRIT 1. Repent Quickly Acts 3:19 — “Repent therefore, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.” 2. Walk in Love Ephesians 4:32 — “Be kind… forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Love restores fellowship with the Spirit. 3. Obey His Voice Promptly 1 Samuel 15:22 — “Obedience is better than sacrifice.” Listen when He convicts, leads, or warns. 4. Feed Your Spirit Daily A Holy-Spirit-filled life is sustained by Word, Worship, and Prayer. 5. Pursue Holiness Hebrews 12:14 — “Without holiness no one will see the Lord.” Holiness keeps your heart tender toward God. V. THE BLESSINGS OF NOT GRIEVING THE SPIRIT When the Holy Spirit is pleased with your life: Your spiritual gifts flourish You experience deep peace Your prayers carry power You hear His voice clearly Heaven backs your assignment Romans 8:14 — “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” CONCLUSION The Holy Spirit lives in you. He walks with you. He desires fellowship with you. Do not break His heart—honor Him with your lifestyle. Ephesians 4:30 is not a warning from anger but from love. The Spirit desires to bring you into the fullness of God’s plan, but He can only guide a surrendered heart. Today, ask Him: “Holy Spirit, help me to live in a way that brings You joy, not grief.” Pastor Abiodun Kadri #GriefOfTheHolySpirit #HolySpirit #HolyLiving #ChristianLife #WalkInTheSpirit #BibleTeaching #GospelMessage #SpiritualGrowth #KingdomMindset #RenewedHeart

  • What God Needs From You!

Many people ask, “What does God really want from me?” Is it money? Is it church attendance? Is it long prayers or religious rituals? The truth is, God does not need material things—He needs your heart, your obedience, your love, and your surrender.

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” — Micah 6:8 (NKJV)

God is the Owner of heaven and earth (Psalm 24:1), yet He still desires something from you: a genuine relationship and a life that reflects His will.

    1. GOD NEEDS YOUR HEART

“My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways.” — Proverbs 23:26

God is not interested in performance without devotion.

He does not want your Sunday face and weekday sins. He wants your heart completely.

A heart that loves Him (Deuteronomy 6:5)

A heart that trusts Him (Proverbs 3:5)

A heart that is loyal to Him (2 Chronicles 16:9)

God does not want part of you — He wants ALL of you.

    2. GOD NEEDS YOUR OBEDIENCE

“To obey is better than sacrifice…” — 1 Samuel 15:22

Many people try to please God with activities while ignoring His instructions. Obedience means:

    Forgiving when it is painful

Letting go when He says “leave it”

    Moving when He says “go”

    Waiting when He says “stay”

    Jesus said:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” — John 14:15

True love for God is proven by obedience to God.

    3. GOD NEEDS YOUR FAITH

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him…” — Hebrews 11:6

Faith is God’s currency. When you believe Him, you honor Him. When you doubt Him, you dishonor Him.

God needs you to trust Him when:

    You don’t understand the process

    You can’t see the outcome

    The doors look closed

    The delay is long

Your faith speaks louder than your words.

    4. GOD NEEDS YOUR HOLINESS

“Be holy, for I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16

Holiness is not perfection; it is separation from sin and dedication to God. God needs:

    Clean hands

    A pure heart

    A life that avoids compromise

You cannot walk with God and walk in sin at the same time.

Darkness and light do not mix (2 Corinthians 6:14).

    5. GOD NEEDS YOUR LOVE FOR OTHERS

“Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Mark 12:31

You cannot claim to love God and hate people.

    Love is forgiving

    Love is patient

Love is not jealous or proud (1 Corinthians 13)

God needs you to become His love in action.

When you bless others, forgive others, and serve others, you reveal God to the world.

    6. GOD NEEDS YOUR AVAILABILITY

“Here am I. Send me!” — Isaiah 6:8

God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called. He is not looking for ability, He is looking for availability.

    Can He send you?

    Can He use you?

    Can He trust you?

The willing vessel attracts divine assignment.

    7. GOD NEEDS YOUR PRAISE AND WORSHIP

“Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.” — Psalm 150:6

Praise is not for God’s ego; it is for your spiritual alignment. Praise:

    Invites His presence (Psalm 22:3)

    Breaks chains (Acts 16:25–26)

    Silences the enemy (Psalm 8:2)

God needs your sincere worship, not entertainment worship.

    CONCLUSION
What God needs from you is not religion, but relationship.

    He needs:
    Your heart
    Your obedience
    Your faith
    Your holiness
    Your love
    Your availability
    Your worship

When you give God these things, He gives you:

    Direction

    Peace

    Power

    Purpose

    Eternal life

You don’t give God because He is lacking. You give to Him because you are grateful.

“Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” — Psalm 37:4

  • The Wave of the Last Days !!!

We are living in an unusual time — a time the Bible clearly describes as “the last days.”

These days are not ordinary days but prophetic times filled with spiritual pressure, moral decay, global unrest, and increasing hunger for truth.

    The disciples asked Jesus:

“What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” — Matthew 24:3

Jesus responded by describing a wave — a powerful movement of events, attitudes, and spiritual conditions that would sweep across the earth. We are now experiencing that wave.

    This sermon reveals:

What the wave of the last days looks like

    The dangers it carries

    The opportunities it presents

    How believers must prepare

    1. THE WAVE OF DECEPTION IS RISING

    Jesus warned first about deception:

“Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name… and shall deceive many.” — Matthew 24:4–5

False teachings, fake prophets, altered gospel, and message of convenience rather than truth are everywhere.

    Paul warned:

“…the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine…” — 2 Timothy 4:3

    In the last days:

    Truth will be resisted

    Error will be attractive

Many will choose comfort over conviction.

You must know the Word of God for yourself. A weak Christian will not survive a strong deception.

    2. THE WAVE OF LAWLESSNESS AND COLD LOVE

    Jesus said:

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” — Matthew 24:12

    There is an increase in:

    * Violence

    * Corruption

    * Immorality

    * Betrayal

    * Selfishness

Paul described people of the last days:

“Lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud… unholy… lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.” — 2 Timothy 3:1–5

You can see it everywhere — in families, churches, leadership, and even among believers.

The believer must not be shaped by the world’s wave but stand as light in the darkness.

    3. THE WAVE OF SIGNS AND BIRTH PAINS

“For nation shall rise against nation… famines, pestilences, earthquakes… All these are the beginning of sorrows.” — Matthew 24:7–8

    We see it:

    * Natural disasters

    * Wars & rumors of wars

    * Disease & fear

    * Economic instability

These are spiritual warning sirens that Jesus is returning soon. Every event is a call to repentance and readiness.

The wise don’t panic; they prepare!

    4. THE WAVE OF PERSECUTION & TRIALS FOR BELIEVERS.

“Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you…” — Matthew 24:9

    True believers will face:

    * Mockery

    * Rejection

    * Persecution

    * Pressure to compromise

Christianity is becoming more difficult — and more dangerous — in many places.

Only those rooted in Christ will stand when the storm becomes stronger.

    5. THE WAVE OF THE HOLY GHOST OUTPOURING

While darkness increases, God also promised a great wave of the Spirit:

“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh…” — Joel 2:28

In the last days, God will:

    Raise bold believers

    Give visions and dreams

    Ignite revival

    Save souls massively

Darkness and glory are increasing together. The true Church will shine the brightest.

    6. THE FINAL WAVE: JESUS IS COMING SOON

    Jesus declared:

“Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me…” — Revelation 22:12

The last and greatest wave is His return.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout…” — 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

    There will be:

    A rapture of the saints

    Judgment for the wicked

    Reward for the faithful

    A new heaven and earth

THIS IS NOT A STORY — IT IS A COMING REALITY.

HOW THEN SHALL WE LIVE IN THIS LAST-DAY WAVE?

    Live holy — 1 Peter 1:15–16

Watch and pray — Matthew 26:41

    Win souls — Daniel 12:3

Hold on to faith — Hebrews 10:23

Love God more than the world — 1 John 2:15

“He that shall endure to the end, the same shall be saved.” — Matthew 24:13

    CONCLUSION
The wave of the last days is already here.

    It is:

    A wave of deception

    A wave of destruction

    A wave of decision

    A wave of revival

    A wave of Christ’s return

The question is not “Is it coming?”
The question is “Are you ready?”

This is your moment to arise, repent, watch, and prepare.

    SALVATION CALL
If you are unsure of your salvation, pray:

“Lord Jesus, I confess I am a sinner. I believe You died for me and rose again. Forgive me of my sins. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Prepare me for Your coming. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
