TODAY'S KINGDOM INSIGHTS: SERMON TOPIC: YOUNG PEOPLE, DON'T WASTE YOUR YOUTH. Theme: Your Youth Is a Gift, Not a Season to Throw Away. «“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…” — Ecclesiastes 12:1 (KJV)» 🔥DON'T WASTE WHAT YOU CANNOT REPLACE Young person, you can recover lost money. You can replace a broken phone. You can rebuild a failed business. But you cannot recover yesterday. Youth is one of the greatest gifts God gives a person—and one of the easiest gifts to waste. You have energy today. You have time today. You have opportunities today. You have the ability to learn, build, serve, dream, pray, create and make a difference. But the enemy wants you to believe: «“You are still young. There is plenty of time. Enjoy yourself now. You will become serious with God later.”» That is a dangerous lie. The devil does not always destroy young people through terrible sins. Sometimes he destroys them through distraction. He keeps them busy but unproductive. Connected to everyone but disconnected from God. Entertained but empty. Informed but not transformed. Chasing popularity while losing purpose. Young people, don't waste your youth! Your youth is not merely for having fun. It is preparation for purpose. 1. REMEMBER YOUR CREATOR BEFORE YOU WASTE YOURYEARS Ecclesiastes 12:1 «“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…”» Solomon did not say, “Remember your Creator when you become old.” He said “now.” God deserves your youthful years—not merely the leftovers of your life. Many people say: «“When I get older, I will serve God.”» But what if God wants to use you now? David was young when he confronted Goliath. Samuel was young when God called him. Josiah was young when he became king and began reforming Israel. Timothy was young when Paul recognized his spiritual potential. Your age does not disqualify you from God's purpose. Deep Insight Youth is not an excuse for spiritual laziness. The earlier you surrender your life to God, the more years you can spend fulfilling His purpose. Don't give God your retirement. Give Him your strength. Don't give God your leftovers. Give Him your first fruits. 2. DON'T ALLOW PLEASURE TO STEAL YOUR PURPOSE 1 John 2:15–17 «“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world…”» There is nothing wrong with enjoying life. But there is a difference between enjoying God's blessings and becoming enslaved to worldly pleasures. Social media can become a distraction. Entertainment can become an addiction. Relationships can become an idol. Money can become a master. Sexual temptation can destroy destiny. And the desire to be accepted can cause a young person to compromise convictions. Ask yourself: What is consuming most of my time? Because what controls your time will eventually influence your life. You cannot spend five hours every day feeding your flesh and expect your spirit to remain strong. You cannot constantly consume content that weakens your values and expect your character to remain strong. Be careful what you repeatedly watch, listen to, follow, admire and imitate. 3. USE YOUR YOUTH TO BUILD, NOT JUST TO CONSUME 1 Timothy 4:12 «“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers…”» Paul did not tell Timothy: «“Because you are young, wait until you become older.”» He said: «“Be an example.”» Young people should not only be consumers. Build something. Learn a skill. Study the Word. Develop your character. Serve in church. Help people. Create something useful. Learn technology. Develop your gifts. Start preparing for your future. Don't spend your entire youth watching other people build their dreams. Remember this: Entertainment gives you moments. Development gives you capacity. Your future will demand skills you must begin developing today. Your character must grow alongside your career. Your spiritual life must grow alongside your education. Your wisdom must grow alongside your influence. 4. CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS CAREFULLY Proverbs 13:20 «“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”» Not everybody who laughs with you is helping you. Not everybody who calls you “brother” or “sister” is taking you toward your destiny. Some relationships are assignments from God. Others are distractions from your purpose. Look at the people closest to you. Do they encourage you to become better—or pressure you to become worse? Do they respect your faith? Do they challenge you to grow? Can you say “no” around them without losing the friendship? Can you discuss your dreams with them? Can they correct you? Your environment matters. If you constantly surround yourself with people who celebrate foolishness, eventually foolishness will become normal to you. Choose friends who can pray with you, grow with you, correct you and walk with you toward God's purpose. 5. DON'T WAIT FOR TOMORROW TO OBEY GOD Ephesians 5:15–16 «“See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”» Notice the phrase: “Redeeming the time.” Time is a currency you cannot save forever. Every day you receive 24 hours. You can waste them. You can invest them. But you cannot reverse them. There are young people who are praying for opportunities while wasting the opportunities already in their hands. Some are waiting for a miracle while refusing to develop discipline. Some are asking God for greatness while neglecting the small responsibilities He has already given them. Faith does not cancel responsibility. Pray—but prepare. Believe—but build. Trust God—but discipline yourself. Ask for opportunities—but develop the capacity to handle them. 📖 BIBLICAL CASE STUDY: JOSEPH — A YOUNG MAN WHO DID NOT WASTE HIS SEASON Joseph was young when his life suddenly changed. He was betrayed by his brothers. He was sold into slavery. He was falsely accused. He was imprisoned. Yet Joseph did not allow his circumstances to determine his character. Genesis 39:9 When tempted by Potiphar's wife, Joseph said: «“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?”» Joseph understood something powerful: His future was more valuable than his temporary pleasure. He could have said: «“Nobody will know.”» But Joseph knew that God was watching. He could have compromised. He could have become bitter. He could have wasted his youth in anger. Instead, he remained faithful. And eventually, God lifted him from the prison to the palace. The lesson: Don't destroy tomorrow because of today's temptation. That relationship may be temporary. That pleasure may be temporary. That opportunity may be temporary. But the consequences of some decisions can follow you for years. Young person, protect your future. 🔥 DEEP SPIRITUAL INSIGHTS 1. Your youth is a seed season. What you plant now will influence what you harvest later. Plant prayer. Plant discipline. Plant knowledge. Plant integrity. Plant service. Plant righteousness. 2. Your habits are building your future before you see it. You may not see the harvest today, but your daily decisions are constructing tomorrow. 3. God is more interested in your character than your popularity. You may impress thousands of people online and still disappoint God privately. Character is who you are when nobody is watching. 4. Not every open door is a God-given opportunity. Some doors are traps disguised as opportunities. Learn to ask: «“Lord, is this good for me—or merely attractive to me?”» 5. Your greatest battle may not be against people; it may be against distraction. A distracted generation can have enormous potential and accomplish very little. Protect your attention. What captures your attention repeatedly can eventually shape your direction. ✅ PRACTICAL ACTION STEPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE Starting today: 1. Give God the first part of your day. Pray. Read Scripture. Listen for God's direction. 2. Set goals for your life. Spiritual goals, educational goals, financial goals, relational goals and career goals. 3. Learn valuable skills. Don't depend only on certificates. Develop practical competence. 4. Control your phone; don't let your phone control you. 5. Choose your friends intentionally. 6. Avoid sexual and moral compromises. 7. Find a mature Christian mentor. 8. Serve somewhere. Don't just attend church—be useful in God's house. 9. Stop comparing your journey with other people's journeys. 10. Start now. Don't wait until everything is perfect. 🤔 QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION Take a moment and answer these honestly: - If I continue living exactly as I am today, where will I be five years from now? - What am I doing with my time? - What habit is secretly destroying my potential? - Who are the people influencing my decisions? - Am I becoming closer to God or farther from Him? - What gift has God placed inside me? - What am I doing to develop that gift? - What temptation am I repeatedly entertaining? - What should I stop doing? - What should I start doing? - If Jesus returned today, would I be satisfied with how I used my youth? 🙏 POWERFUL PRAYER POINTS 1. Prayer for Purpose Father, open my eyes to understand Your purpose for my life. Help me not to wander through life without direction. 2. Prayer for Wisdom Lord, give me wisdom to make decisions that will preserve my future and honor You. 3. Prayer Against Distraction Every distraction assigned to waste my time, weaken my faith and derail my destiny, I reject it in Jesus' name. 4. Prayer for Discipline Holy Spirit, give me the discipline to do what is right even when nobody is watching. 5. Prayer for Purity Lord, keep my heart, mind and body pure. Give me strength to overcome every temptation that seeks to destroy my future. 6. Prayer for Good Relationships Father, connect me with people who will strengthen my faith, sharpen my character and help me fulfill my purpose. 7. Prayer for Courage Lord, give me courage to stand for truth even when my generation is going in the opposite direction. 8. Prayer for Impact Father, let my life become a blessing to my generation. May I not pass through this world without making a positive difference. 🔥 STRONG CLOSING: DON'T WASTE YOUR YOUTH Young person, you are not too young for God to use you. You are not too young to pray. You are not too young to preach. You are not too young to serve. You are not too young to lead. You are not too young to build. You are not too young to make a difference. David had a sling. Joseph had a dream. Samuel had a listening ear. Timothy had youthful strength. And God used them. What is in your hands? What gift is inside you? What dream has God placed in your heart? What are you doing with the years God has given you? Don't wait until you are old before you become serious with God. Don't spend your best years chasing things that cannot satisfy your soul. Don't exchange your destiny for temporary pleasure. Don't allow social media to consume the years that should be building your future. Don't let fear paralyze you. Don't let failure define you. Don't let your past imprison you. Rise. Pray. Learn. Build. Serve. Grow. Your youth is not a waiting room. Your youth is a training ground for destiny. And when you stand before God one day, may you be able to say: «“Lord, I did not waste what You gave me.”» FINAL CHARGE Young people, don't waste your youth. Give God your strength. Saturday, 25th July, 2026 TITLE: "Leading with Integrity and Godly Example" ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S) Psalm 78:72 (KJV) "So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart; and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands." 1 Timothy 4:12 (KJV) "Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." QUOTE TO REFLECT ON "The greatest leaders are remembered not only for what they achieved, but for the godly character they displayed." DAY'S REFLECTION King David's leadership was marked by two outstanding qualities: integrity of heart and skill in action. He cared for God's people with sincerity and led them with wisdom. His effectiveness did not come merely from his abilities but from a heart devoted to God. Excellence in leadership begins with character before it is expressed through competence. Paul gave Timothy similar counsel. Though Timothy was young, he was not to allow his age to become an excuse or a limitation. Instead, he was to become an example in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity. God measures leadership by influence and character rather than age, status, or position. Imagine a newly appointed teacher entering a classroom for the first time. The students may initially question the teacher's ability because of a youthful appearance. However, as the teacher consistently demonstrates fairness, preparation, respect, and genuine care, confidence grows, and the class responds positively. In the same way, a believer earns lasting influence through a life that consistently reflects Christ. Whether you lead a family, a ministry, a classroom, a business, or simply influence friends and neighbours, remember that people are watching your example. Let your words encourage, your actions inspire, and your character honour God. When integrity and godliness guide your life, God will use you to impact others for His Kingdom. "THE LONELINESS OF LEADERSHIP" ‘…That you may not bear it yourself alone.’  Numbers 11:17 NKJV MOSES SAID to God, ‘Why have You…laid the burden of all these people on me?’ (v. 11 NKJV). God replied, ‘…Gather to Me seventy men…I will take of the Spirit that is upon you and will put the same upon them…that you may not bear it yourself alone’ (vv. 16-17 NKJV). Identify your God-given strengths, then delegate the rest to those who have strengths in your areas of weakness. Every leader is responsible for areas in which they have little or no competence. And when they try to exercise authority in those areas, they hinder everything and everybody under their watch. Put bluntly, there are things you are responsible for that you’ll never be good at, that you need to keep your nose out of and give to others! Why do we have such a hard time doing this? 1) Pride. Success is intoxicating and intoxicated people don’t think too clearly. We assume our abilities are broader than they actually are. Admitting weakness doesn’t make you less effective; it just confirms what everybody around you already knows! 2) Ignorance. We feel bad about delegating our weak areas because we assume everybody hates to do what we hate to do. Not so. You’re allowing others to shine; your limitations are their opportunities. 3) Independence. We think if the job is to be done ‘right’ we must do it ourselves. But leadership isn’t just about getting things done; it’s about getting things done through others. If you can’t find somebody to hand things to, look in the mirror! Undeterred, she saved her own money and, in 1932, embarked on a perilous journey by train across Siberia, for she could not afford travel by sea. She arrived in Yangcheng, China, and worked with an elderly missionary, Jeannie Lawson. After Lawson's death, Gladys took over the mission, becoming known as "Ai-weh-deh" (the virtuous one). She learned the language, adopted Chinese customs, and tirelessly served the local people. Her obedience to God's calling, resulted in her being able to save many lives and influence many people.* *Like Gladys, Moses received instructions from God to go to Pharaoh with His message of deliverance of the Israelites. Six times in this short passage, God used the verb "go" to pass instructions to Moses. Humanly speaking, nothing would have made Moses return of his free will to Egypt, because he was a fugitive from justice. But when God's call came, Moses chose to obey.* *God gave Moses the blueprint of his assignment in Egypt. He was to first gather the elders of Israel and share the plan of God for their deliverance with them. Along with the leaders, he would approach Pharaoh and deliver the same message. The resistance of Pharaoh would be countered by God's power such that when the Israelites would eventually leave, they would spoil the Egyptians by going with their jewellery and raiment as compensations for their years of servitude.* *Just like God sent Moses to Egypt, so He is sending us to the world to share the good news of the cross and deliverance from sin to all and sundry. The assignment is tough and the road may be rough, but God promised to be with us. We are reading this letter to the Thessalonians today and receiving the same charge or challenge to please God daily in all we do, say and think. No one can live to please God in his or her power. Only God, by His grace, enables us to do this. This grace is available to as many as would come to Jesus. A boy or girl who is still living in sin, doing bad things, like fighting, telling lies, stealing, moving with bad friends, and doing other evil things, cannot receive this grace. *Such a person must first come out of sin by confessing to Jesus, asking for forgiveness and cleansing through His precious blood, and inviting Him to be his or her Saviour and Lord.* *If you are a friend of Jesus, be conscious of how you live so that you will not displease, instead of pleasing God. Ask God daily for His grace to help you please Him. Humanly speaking, escape seemed impossible. Yet through an extraordinary combination of military coordination, the courage of civilian boat owners and what many believers regarded as God's providential intervention, the soldiers were rescued in what became known as the Miracle of Dunkirk. What appeared to be certain defeat became an unforgettable deliverance because there was a greater plan at work than anyone could initially see. Identify your God-given strengths, then delegate the rest to those who have strengths in your areas of weakness. Every leader is responsible for areas in which they have little or no competence. And when they try to exercise authority in those areas, they hinder everything and everybody under their watch. Put bluntly, there are things you are responsible for that you’ll never be good at, that you need to keep your nose out of and give to others! Why do we have such a hard time doing this? 1) Pride. Success is intoxicating and intoxicated people don’t think too clearly. We assume our abilities are broader than they actually are. Admitting weakness doesn’t make you less effective; it just confirms what everybody around you already knows! 2) Ignorance. We feel bad about delegating our weak areas because we assume everybody hates to do what we hate to do. Not so. You’re allowing others to shine; your limitations are their opportunities. 3) Independence. We think if the job is to be done ‘right’ we must do it ourselves. But leadership isn’t just about getting things done; it’s about getting things done through others. If you can’t find somebody to hand things to, look in the mirror! THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Excellence or excelling is a department of your worship as a child of God. God never designed His people for the valley, the pit, or the backside of life. Through creation, covenant, prophecy, the law, and redemption, it has been made abundantly clear that the topmost places of the earth are reserved for Kingdom people. In Genesis 1:28, God created man and said, ...Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and have dominion... Dominion is a top-level command. It is impossible to dominate from beneath. In Genesis 17:6, God told Abraham, I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. That means every genuine seed of Abraham is either a king or a nation. Ordinary people give birth to children, but Abraham gave birth to nations and kings. Therefore, by the covenant, you are not permitted to live an average or irrelevant life. God did not create His people to crawl like chickens when they possess the destiny of eagles. You are an eagle, not a vulture. You are not meant for the low places of life. Beloved, the top is not a place of pride; it is a place of kingdom assignment. God wants His children at the top so they can bring honour, glory, praise, and worship to Him through excellence, quality, and top-level existence. That is why Jesus says in Matthew 5:16, Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. There is something people will see in your life that will generate praise for God automatically. Excellence or excelling is a department of your worship. You do not worship God with songs alone; you also worship Him by excelling. When people look at your life and say, “This man is a genuine child of God,” God is glorified. That was the story of Daniel. Daniel entered Babylon and outperformed all the magicians, astrologers, and wise men in their own realm because an excellent spirit was found in him. Through excellence, Joseph became lord over Egypt. Through the character of excellence and contentment, Esther became queen in Persia for the preservation of the Jews in the land of captivity. All these were kingdom people who existed at the top for kingdom purposes. Beloved, refuse to settle for average existence. Whatever your field, the top is your place. The top is your rightful place whether you are in ministry, business, academics, medicine, politics, media, entertainment, etc. You are meant to excel and shine for the Glory of God. REMEMBER THIS: Excellence or excelling is a department of your worship as a child of God. ASSIGNMENT(S): 1. Reject every mentality of mediocrity and average living. 2. Men who have the use of money are to learn a lesson from the history of Solomon. Those who have a competence are in continual danger of thinking that money and position will ensure them respect, and they need not be so particular. But self-exaltation is but a bubble. By misusing the talents given him, Solomon apostatized from God. When God gives men prosperity, they are to beware of following the imaginations of their own hearts, lest they endanger the simplicity of their faith and deteriorate in religious experience.16Manuscript 40, 1898. The lesson for us to learn from the history of this perverted life is the necessity of continual dependence upon the counsels of God; to carefully watch the tendency of our course, and to reform every habit calculated to draw us from God. It teaches us that great caution, watchfulness, and prayer are needed to keep undefiled the simplicity and purity of our faith. Scripture never teaches believers to be naïve. Jesus Himself warned, "I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves." (Matthew 10:16). Sheep are symbols of innocence, but wolves represent environments where wisdom is essential. The Kingdom of God does not encourage manipulation, yet it repeatedly commends wisdom, discernment, prudence, and understanding. "Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established." (Proverbs 24:3). Every society develops its own culture, values, and patterns of interaction. Where honour is neglected, leadership becomes difficult. Where everyone assumes there is nothing to learn, growth slows, relationships weaken, and institutions struggle to flourish. "Only by pride cometh contention." (Proverbs 13:10). The believer is therefore called to combine humility with discernment, courage with restraint, conviction with wisdom, and truth with gracious conduct. The goal is not merely to survive society but to influence it for righteousness. "The wise shall inherit glory." (Proverbs 3:35). THE MENACE OF AN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY WITHOUT A CULTURE OF HONOUR Equality in human dignity is a biblical truth. "God is no respecter of persons." (Acts 10:34). Yet Scripture also recognizes different responsibilities, gifts, and offices within society and the Church. "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists..." (Ephesians 4:11). When a culture loses the ability to distinguish between equal worth and different responsibilities, several problems emerge. A society that no longer honours wisdom often stops learning. "A wise man will hear, and will increase learning." (Proverbs 1:5). A generation that rejects correction eventually resists growth. "He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul." (Proverbs 15:32). Where everyone assumes they already know everything, teachability disappears. "Seest thou a man wise in his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him." (Proverbs 26:12). Where honour declines, mentorship weakens. Yet Scripture commands, "Obey them that have the rule over you... for they watch for your souls." (Hebrews 13:17). Where respect diminishes, unnecessary conflict multiplies. "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." (Philippians 2:3). The biblical answer is neither arrogance nor unhealthy submission. It is a culture where humility, honour, truth, and wisdom coexist. STRATEGIC WISDOM FOR SOCIO-POLITICAL SURVIVAL 1. Cultivate Spiritual Discernment Before Public Influence "The prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself." (Proverbs 22:3). Wisdom sees beyond appearances. Discernment helps believers respond thoughtfully rather than react impulsively. 2. Honour People Without Idolizing Them "Honour all men." (1 Peter 2:17). Biblical honour recognizes the dignity of others while reserving worship for God alone. 3. Stay Teachable Throughout Life "Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser." (Proverbs 9:9). A teachable spirit creates continuous growth, regardless of age or status. 4. Let Character Sustain What Talent Begins "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches." (Proverbs 22:1). Influence built only on ability is fragile; influence supported by integrity endures. 5. Speak With Wisdom and Restraint "He that hath knowledge spareth his words." (Proverbs 17:27). Not every battle deserves an immediate response. Silence is sometimes an expression of strength. 6. Adapt Without Compromising Convictions Paul declared, "I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." (1 Corinthians 9:22). Biblical adaptability is not hypocrisy. (1 Chronicles 12:32). 🔥 Kingdom influence requires both spiritual depth and practical wisdom. 🔥 The goal is not merely to survive difficult environments but to become salt and light within them. "Ye are the salt of the earth... Ye are the light of the world." (Matthew 5:13–14). FINAL THOUGHTS🤔🧠 The Christian life is neither an escape from society nor surrender to it. Christ calls His followers to engage the world with wisdom, integrity, courage, and compassion. We are not called to imitate every cultural pattern, but neither are we called to ignore the realities around us. The serpent's wisdom must always be balanced by the dove's innocence. Strategic thinking must never become deceit. Adaptability must never become compromise. Honour must never become flattery. Conviction must never become arrogance. The believer who walks with God, grows in wisdom, honours others, develops competence, and remains faithful to truth is positioned not only to endure changing times but also to shape them for God's glory. 🙏 PRAYER LINES 🙏 Father, grant me the wisdom that comes from above, pure, peaceable, and full of good fruits. DAY'S REFLECTION God is not only interested in our spirituality; He is also interested in the quality of our work. In Exodus, Bezalel was filled with the Spirit of God, receiving wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and skill for craftsmanship. This reminds us that excellence is not merely a human achievement—it can be a divine empowerment. However, spiritual gifting alone is not enough. Proverbs teaches that diligence distinguishes a person and opens doors to greater opportunities. Many people possess talent, but only those who consistently develop and apply it rise to higher levels of influence and impact. Consider a teacher who prepares thoroughly for every lesson. AOV #9 DEBORAH Leadership we can learn from! by Denise Roberts Deborah was unique in many ways. She was the only female judge recorded in Scripture, a prophetess, a wife, and a leader during one of Israel’s most difficult seasons. While many judges struggled with character and integrity, Deborah stands as an example of godly leadership. Following her victory, Israel experienced forty years of peace, twice as long as the previous period of peace. What makes Deborah particularly relevant today is how she led. While kings and rulers built palaces and fortified strongholds to project power, Deborah held court under the Palm of Deborah, out in the open where people could easily approach her. She did not rely on titles, walls, or gatekeepers to establish authority. Her influence was built on trust, wisdom, and relational credibility. In a modern world obsessed with status and hierarchy, Deborah reminds us that true leadership comes from being accessible and trustworthy. When a crisis arose, Deborah did not try to do everything herself. She called Barak and reminded him of his responsibility. Even when he refused to go without her, she put aside any concern for recognition and simply went to support him. Deborah understood that leadership is not about controlling every outcome but about empowering others to step into their God given roles. Great leaders do not create followers; they develop other leaders. Deborah was not a token leader. Her position was established through wisdom, competence, and godly character. People sought her counsel because of who she was and what she carried, not because of her gender. Her life reminds us that effective leadership is ultimately measured by integrity, wisdom, and results. Perhaps most remarkably, Deborah refused to be confined to a single role. Scripture presents her as a prophetess, judge, wife, military strategist, and songwriter. She demonstrates that God often calls people to serve in more than one area and that our identity is not limited to a single title. Deborah’s life challenges modern leaders to build influence through character rather than position, empower others rather than control them, and remain faithful to God’s calling regardless of expectations or limitations.
